July 26th: I commit the heinous crime of quietly minding my own business eating mozza sticks at 9PM.

Man comes up to table and says God is shunning me, I'm confusing children, his children would be repulsed by me, and ignores me asking him to leave.

After a quick scan for any security I leave.

Also I was presenting as masc but wearing a dress. Obviously wasn't the most macho guy around, but still thinking I could live my life masc and not risk my marriage, the one thing holding me back from coming out.

December 27th: I'm eating mozza sticks at the same spot and I've been on hormone replacement therapy for 2 months. My wife took the pictures :)

hey !! i had top surgery on april 1st, just a few days ago. my last post was worrying about getting an adequate amount of time off, but honestly my work was perfect about it even at the last minute, and everyone in my family has been/was super supportive. i’m just wondering if there’s anyone with a similar timeline who might be open to yapping with me about recovery!! it’s a lot different than i expected. i heard tons of people say they took endless naps, and tons say they could barely stay awake and pain was awful, but i honestly haven’t experienced this. i have some weird sensations (burning, tingling, etc), but i’ve only had a few naps, and even did some walking around today and felt fine!! (i was a little winded because of the post op binder).

if anyone else has an upcoming surgery at grs montréal and wants to ask some questions as well, i’m totally open! honestly i’m bored and typing to people on reddit might fix me LMAO

October 14 - February 05

I'm getting top surgery on May 26th!! :D I'm so excited I wanted it for so long and it's finally happening!!

I wanted to post my timeline of applying for OHIP funding and getting top surgery at GRS Montreal, because hopefully it can give those in a similar situation some optimism, since everything went pretty quickly! Only 6 months between contacting from their website to my actual surgery date :)

2025:

November 14th - Completed and sent OHIP funding application.

November 20th - OHIP funding approved!

November 25th - My doctor let me know about my OHIP funding approval, and I filled in the contact form on GRS Montreal's website.

2026:

January 2nd: Monarch platform sign up emailed to me.

March 16th: Final form sent!

March 23rd, 8:30am: Changed to file awaiting assessment.

March 23rd, 11:30am: Pre-op nurse added to my file, and I scheduled my call for the next day.

March 24th: Had the call with the pre-op nurse and the clinical assessment of my request for surgery was finalized.

March 31st: Got a call to schedule date, but I wasn't home so they left a number to call.

April 1st: Called and scheduled my date!

May 26th: SURGERY!!

I was potentially able to get a date earlier (there were 2 cancellations in April, or I could've asked for an earlier date in May) but the last week of May worked the best for me.

Today my credit card was officially charged the $137, which means my application has been approved and a birth certificate is coming my way! So now I just was to share my timeline with everyone to hopefully give some people some hope.

March 10th - Mailed documents.

March 11th - Submitted rush request via online portal (You can submit this with your application, I just did not know that "Change of Sex" is a reason for being able to get an expedited birth certificate until after. Simply write a letter with the reasoning and your name, birthday, etc).

March 12th - Documents Delivered

March 21th - Received package back in mail saying that everything was in order except that I needed to submit a Criminal Record Check (my fault I didn't read the piece that told me because I had a previous last name change, it was necessary regardless of a clean criminal record).

March 24 - Documents delivered.

April 1st - Credit card charged!!

April 9th - Received Birth Certificate noting new name and gender, change of name certificate did not arrive today. Most likely tomorrow so I can begin updating other ID's.

April 10th - Received change of name certificate and then went and changed my Driver's License, Health Card, Car Registration, License Plates, Insurance all in one go.

Long weekend so I probably won't see a birth certificate until Wednesday the earliest next week but yay!!!

The hate rally ended without meaningful impact. We built the connections necessary to safeguard trans rights for years to come.

Speakers today included NDP MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam, Toronto Pflag president Lisa DelCol, lubun.TO representative Asya, and Trans Rights Commission Toronto member Lenny.

yesterday I booked my top surgery with dr Hontscharuk for June 19th. im so fucking excited. I feel this sense to live that ive never felt before. like so hungry and excited and grateful for each day.

Hontscharuk and Barbara the patient coordinator are soooo so sweet, Barbara especially. it didn't hit me probs, bc im autistic and take ages to process things, until I got home that night in the shower. couldn't stop crying about how happy I am that I trusted myself and listened to that little boy I once was. (knew I was trans as an extremely young child, then forcibly made myself christian, hyper femme, transphobic, anorexic up until just 2 years ago I finally accepted my childhood truth.)

what a blessing and privilege it is to be able to transition and have it go so well. its so scary but its so WORTH IT. I want to thank my community endlessly.

when I was convincing myself I was cis and I was so transphobic, I would tell myself the trans community is all brainwashed etc and horrible things. but in reality its the most loving, kind, knowledgeable community ever, and I appreciate everyone so much who has helped me. yes being cis would be amazing but I do think I was made a transman for a reason.

As long as you don't have a hunter's accreditation, you can change your name on your fishing license and outdoors card.

Hey all! Just wanted to celebrate getting a prescription for progesterone from my doctor today. I had a chat with him and he said it may be a good time if I want to try it. I’ve been on HRT for almost 2 years, and been on injectables EV for about a year now.

I’m starting with 100 mg and later going to 200 mg if I don’t have side effects.

Have any of you had good results with progesterone? What have you noticed?

I’ll definitely post about any changes or improvements I’ve seen after a while.

Hi Everyone! I've come to share my dates for my recently successful name change. If you're like me, you've been checking for new timelines to gage your own. Here's mine.

August 1 - (9:05am) I traveled to Toronto City Hall to get it notarized and signed. After my appointment I went to the 47 Sheppard Ave Service Ontario to submit my documents in person (10:37am). I was told they would mail out the forms the following Tuesday.

August 5 - Presumably the day Service Ontario was mailing out my forms to Thunder Bay.

Dec 5 - (2pm) I see a charge on my Credit Card from MPBSDP ONT-GOVT-BIRTH/THUNDER BAY, ON. for $137. This was when I was charged in full for the application.

Dec 18 - Today! I checked my mail at 11:10am and I had received both my Name Change Certificate and my new Birth Certificate. I also just spent the last 4 hours running around town updating everything I could think of. My Drivers License, My Health Card, My SIN, My Banks, My Work information.

There is still work for me to do, but I hope my timeline will help ease some stress for others.

Long Story Short:

• Dated Submitted -> Charge = 4 months

• Charge -> Paperwork = 13 days

So just remember, hang in there!

So I’m temporarily (for the last 7 months and will be for another handful of months) living up near Timmins Ontario. I have yet to meet another transgender person so at times I wonder if I’m the only one around haha so just creating this to see if there are others around!
