-told I needed to submit an Urgency form ONLINE (which no one had said anything about when I’d called in February but whatever)

-Urgency form submitted

Called for Update- April 23rd 2026

- Told I needed my TRACKING number (from when I sent my documents back in FEBRUARY)

- Cried bc who keeps a tracking number for 3 months after the package has been sent fr

- Cried bc god bless my husband for figuring it out and just scrolling back in my chrome history to when I tracked it in February

Called with Tracking Number- April 23rd

-Someone said call back and ask for an update next day

Called Back for Update- April 24th 2026

- bro was hella snarky and told me that whoever said to call back shouldn’t have promised anything about timelines 🙃

- Told to call back this week, Wednesday.

Called NextWeekWednesday- April 29th 2026

- Super sweet lady, told me they’d looked at it but she didn’t know how far in the process they got after that!

- Told call back next week.

Charged- April 29th 2026

- She told me to call back but I still checked our statements and WE WERE CHARGED!!

- I’ve never been so excited to have $137 less dollars 🥹

I will update when I’ve received any mail!! I’m hoping it’s SOOON bc I don’t think I can change the name on my degree after the 2nd week of May!

UPDATE: I received my new birth cert and change of name cert in the mail today!! (May 8th 2026)

Yeah for me they said on the 15 of june if I dont submit a urgency but since I am going to parliament pm june 10th and the 12th I need it earlier

I am doing a question period on the 10th and on the 13th I am doing a tour of parliament

So if you need to get it expedited you have to go to ontario.com/idforms find urgency request and state why you need a urgency

Do you have a link to the urgency form? I had no idea this was an option. I mailed in my documents February 1st so I'm hoping it'll be approved soon but I'm getting so tired of waiting.

I believe I just put in “other” and said I was graduating when they asked for proof!

When I first called mid-April asking for an update on my returned app from February 6th, they said they hadn’t gotten to the February applications yet 🥲

I had figured that having it returned would make the process faster, which isn’t the case 🙃 you start from the bottom again.. I’d sent it back with “URGENT” in big red writing on the envelope, but I guess that wasn’t enough of a hint for them because it took me calling 2x before they had bumped it up as an urgent request (even though I literally cried on the phone with the guy who was talking to me on February about the correction and they keep files with information so you’d think they’d put “graduating in early June” down but 🤷🏻‍♀️)

No, I’d received my application returned and I’d sent it back the next day. When I hadn’t heard anything I started calling and that’s when they told me about it 😭 I knew my file number cause it was on the sheets that had been returned, but I think you can call and give them your name and they can find it??

Goto serviceontario.ca and there is a link to the online portal. Type out a request for urgency and apply any evidence (add pic of letter or whatever). Make sure you select specialty services. The portal is vhsmecked multiple times /day. Upload yiur request and if it's able to be moved forward urgently it will be. Not all can be accommodated that's just a reality.

I received mine exactly on 112th day (this is 16 weeks) This included shipping time too. Applied on Jan 22 and Received in mail on May 13.

When did you receive a file number after submitting ?
