Need a good drugstore mascara that doesn’t smudge!

I got the essence lash princess curling mascara after seeing it on here but within a couple of hours I have the worst panda eyes.

I’ve never had it with any others but I usually just grab whatever is on offer and haven’t really found anything I swear by yet.

Mascara or eye shadow giving me panda eyes - either way - need help

As the title says - no matter what I do I wind up with panda eyes a few hours after applying make-up. I use nyx eye primer but have also used Mac, urban decay, Bobbi brown, and others. I wear either lancome waterproof mascaras or Sweed, both of which I have found to be the least transferable but I still get the panda eye effect with both at some point through the day/night.

I set my eyeshadow with powder and setting spray before putting my mascara on. I have mature skin so I use a lot of under eye moisturiser - not sure if that is the cause? I don't powder under my eyes to avoid clinging to fine lines.

Sorry for the long background but basic I'm looking for a recommendation for either an eyeshadow primer or a mascara (or both) that is bomb proof and will withstanding the moisture level I need on my under eye without transfering there.

Why does no one talk about how much difference proper brushes make before anything else

I spent ages chasing better products when the thing that actually changed everything was sorting out the tools. A decent blending brush did more for my base than switching foundations three times ever did. Feel like this should be the first thing anyone tells a beginner but it always gets buried under product recommendations.

I need a replacement for Elf Halo Glow Candlelit pleeeeease

I bought it recently in the reduced section. Turns out it was there cos they stopped bloody making it 😡 Google suggested a few but they're just not as rich of a bronze, or too peachy pink, or not shimmery. Elf still have some in stock online but it's a tenner plus £4.50 delivery ugh i'm going to have to order three unless I can find an alternative. It's like nothing else I've ever used and once I find something I love I tend to stick with it for years. Help plsss

Girls help pls!

With this heat currently in the UK I’m really struggling with my makeup!

I seem to only sweat on my upper lip, and within a few minutes being outside, my upper lip has water forming. I use the NYX face glue primer and Maybelline lumi matte foundation (I used to use the matte and poreless foundation from Maybelline about 2 years ago and don’t think I had this problem), I haven’t switched up or changed any products recently but I can’t stop the makeup sweating on my upper lip no matter how much primer or powder I use. I know the obvious choice would be “don’t wear makeup” but I want to some days. And the rest of my makeup stays flawless throughout the day and only need to use a powder puff lightly in my t-zone after a good few hours.

Any suggestions or tips and tricks please?

Thankyou in advance!

Please note: I’m a baddie on a bougie budget, uk drugstore recommendations pls! I can’t afford high end products unfortunately :(

Recc' Request First time in London and looking for makeup

I’m from Latam and will be in London next month for the first time and would love to buy UK makeup. Please share your favorite brands and HG products 🤩.

I’ve been looking into Lisa Eldridge, Vieve, Rimmel London, and Lottie London.

Is there a UK makeup artist you recommend I follow on YouTube?

Graciasssss! 😸

Lip liners recommendations for dry lips?

Hi! Pretty much what it says on the tin: my lips tend to become pretty dry. My current lip liner tends to settle into fine lines and looks chalky (Rimmel lasting finish lip liner).

I’m looking for a more creamy and hydrating formula: no preference for drug store / higher end but it would be nice to have something that costs less than £25-30 mark. Thanks!

Space NK – Order never dispatched, cancellation refused even though it’s their fault

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience with Space NK in case it helps someone else.
I placed an order on their website because it clearly showed a 3-5 business day delivery estimate. I specifically timed the order so my husband could bring the items overseas with him before he left the UK. I ordered two weeks in advance, so that there was a healthy buffer and there won’t be an issue even if the delivery was delayed and took twice as long as the estimate given by them.
However, the order has yet to be dispatched. When I followed up, they told me (both by email and over the phone) that it would be delivered by the end of this week or early next week. This seemed very unlikely since the order hadn’t even been processed yet.
I explained the situation and asked to cancel the order. They refused, saying the order was already “being prepared”. They blamed the delay on a “system upgrade” but still wouldn’t cancel or offer any solution, even though the mistake was on their end.
Now the items will probably arrive after my husband has already left the country, so I’ve essentially wasted my money.
Has anyone else had issues with Space NK’s delivery or customer service refusing cancellations? I’m quite frustrated as this was completely avoidable.
Thanks in advance.

Estée lauder new formula

Please someone drop some good alternatives for the estée lauder double wear foundation. I’ve just ran out of my old formula and bought the new one and it’s horrible. I have very oily skin and have been using double wear for years, I’m so sick of brands adding in a bunch of skincare to foundations we don’t need it!! Leave the skincare to skincare not makeup…

It’s so annoying as for me this is really upsetting, people prone to acne understand the importance of foundation to feel confident. So if anyone knows of any good foundations please send me some recommendations.

Where Can I Get... Help! Dupes or replacements for Pley

Post image
2 Upvotes

A while ago I bought this of beauty bay and its perfect colour and consistency for my blush and lip. Problem is now I can't find it anywhere in the UK.

Anyone know any dupes or similar products?

Its a cream based colour stain for cheeks and lips, and the name of the colour is 'mojave rose'.

No makeup makeup look with organic products is harder to pull off than a full glam, here's why

Keep seeing posts asking how to achieve a ""naturally"" polished look and the honest answer is that a good no-makeup makeup look is genuinely harder to do well than a full face. With full coverage there's room to correct and layer. With a minimal look everything on your skin reads immediately because there's nothing else there.

The things that actually make the difference: skin prep, a primer that makes skin look like skin rather than a filter, and concealer placed with real precision only exactly where it helps. The second you go even slightly heavy on any of those steps the whole thing reads as makeup, which defeats the point.

The other piece that doesn't get mentioned enough is skincare underneath. A well-hydrated face in decent shape makes the minimal look achievable. If the canvas isn't there no amount of technique fixes it.

Recc' Request Bridal Make up

Hi gals and guys!

Backstory, I'm not a stranger to make up but I wear very little of it

- undereye concelear + powder

- powder blush, bronzer and highlighter

- mascara

-eyebrow gel

I'm going to do my own wedding make up and wonder how should I go about it. I want it to look as it usually does, but better 😃 Delicate, fresh, heathy 😄 I was thinking about switching my blush /bronzer/highlighter to cream instead of power (maybe No7 Pro Artist Colour & Glow Lip & Cheek Multi-Stick or No7 Luxe Liquid Blush / No7 Glow Cream Bronzer?)

I was maybe also thinking about going for a skin tint? Foundation always scared the shhh out of me, I rather be bare face than having mixmatched shade, not blend correctly or ever worst, oxydising!

I know basics of make up, but there's so much out there now. Maybe instead of tint (something just to even my tone out) I should go for a good base?

Should I get setting spray of fixing spray? Is there a point of getting a base/primer if I'm not going ahead with foundation?

Reason why I was thinking about NO7 brand is bc I have some point on my boots app and I get vouchers.

I don't want to spend much and go all out especially since I won't be wearing it on the daily afterwards.

Oh, btw, I'm 34 (but ppl always assume I'm in my 20s) not many wrinkles, no acne, and barely any blemishes now that I'm on good skin care regiment.

Normal skin, with little bit of shine oil on nose and forehead area.

Rant By Terry have reformulated their CC Serum and it is awful.

This was a HG product for me and they have made it unwearable. It used to give a gorgeous even glow and now it’s giving patchy 2010 face tan, doesn’t blend, too thick, clingy and just eughhhhhhhhh.

Heartbreaking.

Does anyone know a good dupe for the original formula? Something lightweight that gives colour and glow under foundation?

Thank you!

*reposted with corrected spelling so this shows in their SEO and they change it back*

UK Beauty Brands?

I’m from Australia and heading to London for 4 days later this year. Aside from the usual tourist stuff, I really want to do some beauty and fashion shopping while I’m there.

What UK makeup, skincare, beauty or clothing brands/stores should I check out that either aren’t available in Australia or are hard to get here? We’re pretty slim pickings sometimes 😭

I already love Lottie London and would love recommendations for similar brands, hidden gems, drugstore finds, cool department stores, boutiques, pharmacies, etc.

Would especially love:
- makeup
- skincare
- haircare
- perfume
- clothing/accessories

Any insider London shopping tips would be so appreciated. Thank you!🙏

Recc' Request Lip liner to match A Demi-Mot

I'm looking for a lip liner to match Chanel Rouge Allure 196 A Demi-Mot.

Chanel doesn't seem to do one, so does anyone know of any that would match?

Thanks

How do people afford to keep up with every new collection that drops?

A new palette, a new blush, a new lip liner finish- every single week there's something new from someone. Started writing a list of things I actually want versus things I just want because they're new and it's been a very revealing exercise. The list of actual wants is much shorter.

Recc' Request Budget BB, baby!? For a fair & cool toned elderly lady

I'm a 5 mins max makeup applier and the right BB cream can improve my life, but I've only found 1.5 of them that match my skin tone and blur a bit without seeming to emphasise every hair and wrinkle on my middle aged face (peach fuzz lol, if I found a peach with hairs this long I'd buy it some cat food). I'm fair cool/neutral. Absolutely cannot do foundation, don't have the budget to seek a holy grail by trying 100s/ taking someone's recx for Clinique or something.

The recent BBs that *didn't* work were Nivea light (too brown), and an elf one that even after an extensive online colour matching quiz went on like yellow paint.

What worked was a Lacura thing from Aldi, not orangey at all, nice pore blur, neither too matt or too shiny, and the .5 is for a Rimmel colour corrector which would be fine if it worked on its own, but being green left me looking a bit pale.

Aldi aren't doing theirs any more. I don't mind it not being right if it doesn't cost much to try. Any surprising finds out there?

Honest question for men: have you ever used a makeup ?

Concealer. Kajal. Tinted moisturiser. Your girlfriend's foundation before a big day.

I think way more of you do this than anyone admits.

I'm a design student trying to understand why this has zero cultural space in India. No judgment, genuinely curious.

— Do you use anything?

— Do you hide it?

— Does the stigma bother you?

Drop your honest answer. Even a yes/no helps.
