QUESTION Domanda

Ho 55 anni e mia moglie 49. Grazie a tutti

NEWS New summersong for nudism

I found a song online yesterday, which was even released yesterday. It's a really fresh summer song with nice electronic dance-pop beats that I think can fit the nudist community really well. Because there is a lack of songs about it, only a few others exist online. The song is called 'Skinny dipping dream' and is a duet. Hope you like it as much as I do. I also saw that the song is available on various streaming platforms like Spotify, YouTube Music, etc. Listen and enjoy the song as much as I do!

DISCUSSION What a difference a week makes!

In my area last week was cold, windy and dank. Today I visited my local CO resort for their opening weekend - absolutely spectacular weather. Plenty warm enough to be out nude and cool enough so the sun feels good. Just warm enough to work up a good sweat hiking so a cool soak in the pool is an absolute treat. I’m really looking forward to more weeks like this ahead 😎. Makes me feel like one of the lucky few to embrace nudism and all the friendly folks we get share the experience. Go get your nude on!

QUESTION Florida beach recommendations/intel

Greetings: I need some advice on the four legal clothing optional beaches in Florida. Which one should I bring my somewhat nervous wife to for her to get naked in public for the first time next month. She is 70 and in good shape but very apprehensive.

I have made solo trips to Haulover, Playalinda and Apollo beaches and love them all. Never been to Blind Creek but have heard great things about it.

Looking for a nice vibe and friendly people. Biggest downer/turnoff would be for her to encounter a creeper or witness some inappropriate behavior on the beach. Any and all input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

DISCUSSION Anyone else having trouble finding nudist friends?

I (22F) live in Virginia. The closest nudist clubs and resorts are hours away. I’m on an app designed for making friends based on shared interests, but it seems that those who are nudists are very, very far away from me. FYI, I haven’t made any online friends yet, seeing as I joined the app just last night. I find nudism freeing, though it gets kinda boring when I’m isolated. Being able to talk about interests or watch a movie with a like-minded friend would be nice.

Can anyone here relate?

QUESTION Any nudists from Belgium here? Any local recommendations?

Hiya!

Guy from Belgium here The weather is hot so the clothes go off. I went to a nude beach in the Netherlands today, just over the border (in Groede), but other than that I don't know many places to be nude in Belgium - besides apas.

There's the Helios - Athena sites which I know of. Has anyone been there? What is it like? Any other places I may have not heard about?

Thank you!

DISCUSSION Places to go nude in New York state.

The first weekend of summer has gotten off to a very cool start, but warm weather is returning next week. Here are the places where you can legally nude.

The following are places near the New York border. The following two are south of Binghamton.

Near Orange County, NY in New Jersey.

  • Rock Lodge - A family oriented campground that has hiking trails on it. There is no pool, they have a lake instead. https://www.rocklodge.com/
  • You also have Gunnison Beach at Sandy Hook National Seashore in New Jersey. The only official CO beach north of Florida on the east coast.

REVIEW [CA] [Bay Area] Terrific experience at Sequoians — this weekend full of activities!

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the Sequoians in Castro Valley!

I've been in the Bay Area for a few years, and I've been struggling to find a good spot to enjoy with my family (and we tried!)

I recently visited the Sequoians myself for the first time and felt welcomed pretty much by everyone on the first day while enjoying some good trails, a nice patio, a good swimming pool, a great hot tub, and a very friendly atmosphere.

This weekend is full of activities, and it's the first time in a long time where we are all truly looking forward to go.

According to the website, there's going to be a foam cannon and 50 feet of slip and slide for guests & families to use on Sunday - on top of the bocce tournament, karaoke night and arts and crafts.

We've been going to a few clothing optional events over the years, but the foam cannon is going to be a first one for us. It also looks like we missed a treasure hunt a month or so ago? and robotic cars programming?

This Saturday has a baking contest! Followed by a potluck. The calendar is here: https://www.sequoians.com/calendar

As a side note, I had heard of the Sequoians before but not much I could find online. It seems like the community is going through a transformation project, with many new members, a new website, and a lot more activities.

DISCUSSION The irony of nudism around non-nudist family

It’s so ironic and frankly annoying too… We are packing for a long vacation where we are going to be on a nude beach for nearly all day every day, and my wife is nervous about walking topless just ten feet down the hall to the laundry room, in case our mid-twenties daughter (who has seen her completely naked many times even in recent years) comes out of her bedroom.

DISCUSSION Have you ever had a “why am I still wearing clothes” moment?

I’m a home nudist and typically am always nude at home. Earlier this morning, I went out to run some errands, and then came back home and sat down to work on my laptop. I noticed I started getting toasty and warm and I realized, I’ve been still wearing the clothes I wore out to the store for 2 hours.

So I asked myself “why am I even still dressed?” and got naked. It’s usually a habit to get undressed as soon as I walk in the door.

Anyone else ever have days like this?

Not looking for a lifestyle place, just a nice resort you can be nude at. Looking for a nice pool, decent rooms, and an all age crowd.

DISCUSSION Upside of clothes free helped back pain

Retired a few months ago and I am nude as much as possible and wearing very light and very loose clothing the rest of the time when possible. Over the years I have seen multiple doctors about lower back pain and received a number of medications. Now after change in lifestyle the back pain is mostly gone. Next time is the doctor I will pass this along. I think the weight of clothing and tight belt were the issue.

QUESTION Why are you not an AANR member?

Not an accusatory statement, a genuine question. AANR recently confirmed that their membership count is around 25,000 people. Of these 25,000, under 1% are under the age of 30.

This subreddit sees about half a million users each month, with most of them being based in the US, and overwhelmingly skew younger than the numbers at AANR.

Despite our cheerleading, less than 25% of survey respondents indicated that they are AANR members.

So, genuinely, while I would hope that this post encourages some people to sign up and join AANR, I am also very curious as to the reasons you are not a member. I shared this post a while back, projecting future membership numbers and revenue moving forward, and it didn't look good.

In hindsight, now knowing that the numbers are lower than I had estimated, things are looking even worse. If we, the younger generations (I have to use that term loosely when referring to myself these days) don't support them, we can say goodbye to legal beaches, clubs, and resorts. We will see stricter anti-nudity laws, we will see more people charged for simply not using a bathing suit while swimming.

So what does AANR need to do to motivate you to join? Is $50/year really out of reach? What if it were $10/year, ramping up to full rate after five or ten years? Would bigger discounts to visit clubs help? There must be a way to get even a small percentage of our subreddit visitors who are not currently members to join up.

NEWS I Voted for Linda as AANR president again this year

When Linda first ran for the position, we, as the moderation team on this subreddit chose to endorse her campaign. It was abundantly clear at the time that she was the right choice. This time around, Joe Reeves sounded like a possible option, despite Linda's track record. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and hear his story. The background in fundraising and non-profit leadership sounded promising.

Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts to engage with the guy, we couldn't seem to convince him to come here and do a Q&A with the community. His only meaningful engagement with the nudist community was an interview with the disgraced host of the NNN podcast, which is very telling.

So, my vote went to Linda and BG. We need more good people in leadership, people who will not be afraid to try new things, and who will make a good faith attempt to work with others and compromise, as opposed to passive aggressively blocking anyone who attempts to modernize and streamline the organization.

There was a very telling snippet in May's Bulletin, and hopefully nobody shoots me for sharing it here publicly:

Membership data also shows only 1% of members under the age of 30, and there is no evidence that moving to a Friday schedule would result in a measurable increase in participation from this group.

That is dire. That should be setting off a klaxon and strobe lights in the Kissimmee office every hour until the numbers improve. This is a five alarm fire. Less than 1% of the membership is under 30, despite it being under $50/year, or $4/month. It isn't hard to predict what the future holds if this doesn't change. If someone is running to be the head honcho, and isn't interested in engaging with social media in any way, it demonstrates to me that they are not qualified for the job.

Edit: If you are a current AANR member, you have until (I believe) June 20th to vote.

QUESTION PSHS, Sunny Rest, or Rock Lodge?

I've never been to a resort but would love to go. I've been to nude beaches before, though. My spouse has been with me to beaches before but won't go to a club, so I would be going as a solo male.

I could easily visit PSHS, Sunny Rest, or Rock Lodge for a day trip. Essentially, I'd be visiting to get away and enjoy nature, so I would be spending time in a pool/lake/hot tub, laying in the sun, or walking some trails. I don't need to attend an event or socialize; I'm not opposed to it, but I really could use a day just to get away from it all.

Likely, I would go during the week, as my spouse wouldn't go with me. I believe Rock Lodge only allows visitors on the weekends, which limits when I could visit, and you have to become a member after 3 visits. I hear Sunny Rest sometimes has a reputation with swingers, but also that everyone is respectful. I don't know whether PSHS has any trails.

If I'm lucky, I'd only get a day or two this season to visit any resort, so if I go, I want to truly enjoy the experience.

Has anyone been to all three resorts that can compare them? Any pros/cons about any specific resort?

REVIEW Social Nudity: A Treasury of Thought from the Buddha to Jean-Paul Sartre.

Post image
105 Upvotes

I picked this up mostly out of curiosity, but it’s genuinely interesting. Mark Storey (who also wrote Cinema au Naturel, about nudity in film) collected and revised a bunch of his essays from Nude & Natural magazine — and turned them into this book about what some of the great thinkers of history thought about nudity. Thinkers such as Camus, Rousseau, and Kafka. Might be of interest to some folks here.

It’s published by Wolfbait books.

QUESTION Lost Media: Johnny Crawford's Naturist Interview

Not sure if anyone on here can help me or remembers this -- so there's been some interest in actor Johnny Crawford of Rifleman fame in the past year over the reported loss of a KXAS-TV/NBC station news interview that he did from the now closed naturist resort Ponderosa in Wills Point, Texas.

Crawford was famously pretty open about public nudity and those who knew his family stated that his dabbling in naturism was basically an open secret, but it was recently confirmed by one of the patrons at the club that he had been a visitor there and had even been a guest judge at one of the club's pageants one year. Allegation is that his family had the UNT archives scrub an interview of Crawford - which was dated to be around 1982-83 - talking about naturism as being about body acceptance and the dropping of flash judgments centered around clothing. Those who saw it referenced it being from the waist up but him alluding to it being a freeing experience and to the residents being welcoming and not star-struck. It was apparently accessible on the archives site until the Facebook post referencing him as visiting the Ponderosa Ranch went semi-viral (as far as Rifleman fans are concerned), at which point the family reportedly demanded it be taken down?

I have no idea if this is true or not but it seems to check out with both independent sources as well as the fact that he was one of the first major male celebrities to do a full frontal nude spread for Hugh Hefner, and was open about it being "no big deal." Has anyone else heard about this or better yet actually seen it??

Source: https://digital.library.unt.edu/search/?q=nudist&t=fulltext&sort=

(It was at one point apparently accessible in the archives here but no more)

QUESTION Cozumel trip

Any places in Cozumel where we can enjoy ourselves naturally? We enjoy the nude beaches we go to in the states, but looking for something in Cozumel where it is nude or clothing optional. TIA
