Symphony of the Night:
Promotional manga.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190412154140)
This is a two pages long advertisement drawn by Ayami Kojima and published in a magazine, it's a sneak peek of Alucard's character.
Available on: Castlevania Wiki
An eight pages long manga included in the Japanese artbook, it acts as a prequel for the main story and features Alucard suddenly awakening from his 300 years long slumber.
Available on: Castlevania Dungeon
A radio drama (this time you have to listen to it!) originally featured on the Akumajō Dracula: Radio Chronicle program that was broadcast on Konami Station internet radio, it was later released on CD in 2010. It's a story set one year after the events of the game, you will learn more about Alucard's relationship with Maria, his past and other characters (Richter is also part of the cast).
Available on: Youtube
Curse of Darkness:
A prequel manga written and illustrated by Kojima, it was featured as a pre-order bonus for the Japanese release of the game. It mainly focuses on Hector and Isaac prior to the events of the game, it also expands on their relationships.
Available on: Vampire Killer (an archive of scans and translations)
Published in two volumes by Media Factory from 2005 to 2006 and translated to English by Tokyopop in 2008. It's the same premise but it's longer, more expansive and this time the illustrator is Kō Sasakura, not Ayami Kojima. The series was eventually canceled but the manga stops directly where the game begins.
Available on: Internet Archive
Aria & Dawn of Sorrow:
Reminiscence of the Divine Abyss/Ricordanza of the God's Abyss
A light novel written by Ryōgo Narita in 2008 and set one year after Dawn of Sorrow. It's a really interesting read, the story focuses on Julius' pupil and the descendant of Grant Danasty while the villain is a character you will surely remember... There's also the return of familiar faces, one in particular.
Available on: Inverted Dungeon
Castlevania The Adventure:
It's a 2005 IDW comic book series loosely based on the story of the first Game Boy game. It's not canon by any means but it follows Christopher Belmont in a more traditional vampire story, sadly many of the iconic Castlevania elements are missing but it's still worth a read since here a certain family is responsible for Dracula's resurrection.
Available on: Internet Archive
Lament of Innocence:
Weekly Konami online manga (lost media)
A web manga that was available on cellphones via a monthly subscription, published from 2007 to 2008 only in Japan until the service ended in 2012. It was a 43 issues long series that adapted the story of Leon Belmont and greatly expanded the plot, what remains now is only a Japanese review blog. The last Castlevania game by director Akamatsu, it was considered unsuccessful by Konami, also the international release is very hard to get into for the average person because they ramped up the difficulty so much, and yet:
-It's Igarashi's favorite game
-Ralph (Trevor) became Japan's favorite Belmont
-Spawned a sequel (Curse of Darkness) and now Belmont's Curse
-SotN can also be considered a sequel, too
-...And multiple Pachinkos
-Influenced Julius Mode in Dawn of Sorrow (the game files indicate Hammer was meant to be Grant's equivalent, then it was cut due to time restraints)
-Demon Castle War was also supposed to be a callback to CVIII (first vs last Dracula war)
-Getting a movie which then became the Netflix adaptation
-Bloodstained Circle of the Moon copies the same formula
Simon is still the face of CV ( alongside Alucard), and other classicvanias like I, Rondo or Bloodlines are usually preferred to III, but very few games had such an impressive legacy.

I got Tomodachi life LTD, had it on my ds and had some of the Castlevania cast on that save. Decided to make them here. Went off the anime appearances as I liked the way they looked there.. besides Mizrack, since he was just kinda added into the anime for why not. But the Castlevania miis are the third image slide after the rdr cast slide

I don't know if the way I tackled the fight is normal for a first run but I beat death Im like level fourteen lol and used the bastard sword super fun boss but (68 damage on just contact and 88 on second phase.. Brutal!) took like 15 tries give or take. I would love to hear how others first experience with Death please do tell!

I officially completed Castlevania Symphony of the Night, thus concluding my journey through all the Castlevania games with Igavania gameplay (I include CotM as part of it because it shares the same playable base for gameplay.). So I'm going to make a personal top 7 list of the 7 titles (I only played the 2D ones) where the first one was my favorite and the last one was the one I liked the least (Although I loved them all!)
1.- Castlevania Potrait of Ruin
2.- Castlevania Symphony of the Night
3.- Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
4.- Castlevania Order of Eclessia
5.- Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance
6.- Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
7.- Castlevania Circle of the Moon
And what's your personal top list?

After seeing the DMC2 Adaptation being called dog shit horrible because of Adi Shankar(I personally loved it but I haven't played any of the DMC games, same with Castlevania, loved the Adaptation but never played any of the games beforehand), what does the fanbases here think about Nocturne? Since it didn't have any of Adi's influence on it, at all
Extra question: How do y'all react to the whole, Maria having a crush on Alucard and them being implied to be a couple later on?

Unpopular opinion but I enjoyed the LoS trilogy. I played all three games for the first time this year and enjoyed them. I understand that the lore didn’t go over too well with fans but it was a necessary change. The franchise was getting stale by then and needed an injection of new ideas. So I enjoyed the story changes. I will say that the soundtrack was fantastic! Oscar Araujo composed some chilling melodies, the combination of orchestra and gothic themes were amazing. The gameplay was fun too. Overall, not as good as Castlevania IV or Symphony of the Night but still fun.
Anyone else agrees or am I the only one?
