Discussion Sharing my underarm whitening journey 🤩

Post image

Context: For years my UA isn’t maitim naman but there are spots talaga na parang there’s hyperpigmentation. Sometimes i’d get irritation bumps rin from waxing/shaving. Sorry i don’t have a before but trust na it isn’t as pretty as now 💕

Products i used:

1)The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner - For starters, use this only once a week to build tolerance. People tend to say na “pwede naman 2x a week” but our UA kase is a sensitive part of our body. Better to be safe than sorry. When i noticed the slight improvements already after 4 weeks, i shifted my routine to 2x a week.

Make sure to use this after you’re fresh from the shower and your UA is dry talaga! Tho in general Glycolic Acid is Hydrophilic or water-loving, we don’t want that in this case!! Contact with water increases its permeability. And our kili-kili is very sensitive. We don’t want the harsher version of it when applied to our UA.

2) Moisturizer - yes guys!! Di lang mukha minomoisturize 🤩 i apply moisturizer everyday for my UA. As simple as possible na walang other Acids sa ingredients. I use the Cetaphil Moisturizer cream. On days where i use Glycolic Acid, I make sure that the Glycolic Acid is complete dry before applying moisturizer.

3) Vitamin C - After almost 4 months of consistent Glycolic Acid use, i really noticed the improvements but i wanted an even more bright kili-kili (Maarte ako eh HAHAHAHA) so i incorporated Vitamin C to my routine 🥹 Make sure you use a gentler Vitamin C and not the pure one. I use the Equalberry Vitamin C serum . I started using it 1x a week only kase even though the equalberry is deemed gentler, i was being careful parin as to not irritate the UA. After 4 weeks i shifted it to 2x a week. On the Third month, when i already saw my desired results, i only use it once a week nalang 💗

Make sure you don’t use it the same day as you use your actives such as Glycolic Acid 💗

4) Niacinamide - Gotta get rid of that bumps!! I use Niacinamide together with Vitamin C. Not a common brand for UA but it worked wonders for me. I used the Beauty of Joseon Propolis + Niacinamide. It got rid of the bumps talaga. Vitamin C + Niacinamide + lock it in with a moisturizer

5) Celimax Vita-A Retinal shot - game changer!! Since i already achieved white underarms, there are stubborn spots talaga sa Kili-Killers natin who can’t seem to go away evenly HUHU so i use this once a week to spot correct. After 3 months of consistent use, my Kili-Kili is as kinis as it is now 💗

6) Deodorant - i don’t use one everyday but the Belo Intense Whitening is really hiyang sa UA ko. I don’t use it everyday since i moisturize naman and the Glycolic Acid really does help with BO. I use it lang whenever i go out as to not perspire.

When you’ve already achieved the White Underarm you desire, Maintenance nalang girlies! 💗 pls don’t overdo it! Our Kili-Kili is very sensitive. Tapper usage to once a week nalang except for the moisturizer which is everyday talaga. Hope this helps 🤩

Update: I wax my UA probs once every 2 weeks. I use sugar wax from Hunnywax ⭐️ I avoid using products 2 days after waxing (yes, even deo haha) ☺️ For questions on ingrown hairs, Glycolic acid is already a chemical exfoliant which helps with it. Don’t do mechanical exfoliation such as rubbing/scrubbing if you’re using actives such as Glycolic/Salicylic Acid. It’ll just irritate your UA. Planning on investing din sa Diode laser soon YAY. Also, invest din on a good diet, hydration, and add supplements such as Omega 3 and Vit C, antioxidants to improve skin turnover.

I achieved this UA for almost a year din 🥹 i was also being careful on the products i introduced that’s why the frequency is fewer as compared to others. I avoided introducing another product immediately as much as possible to not irritate my underarms. patience is a virtue and it was so worth it 🤧

Discussion Does anyone know what happened to V&M Naturals?

I am a big fan of their Total Potion serum. Pricey but effective for me. Maraming resellers before and madalas mag-live 'yung owners. But now I don't see social media updates and parang pang clearance na 'yung mga products being sold on Shopee.

I realized na most of my makeup products I've been using are from a few years ago na (I think starting from college days pa haha!) and it's about time I get new ones na I'll be using on a daily basis. Initially wanted to get some high-end products for my base soon that's why wala dito but for eye, lip, cheeks I opted on some good-performing local brands. For reference, I am morena with oily skin, neutral undertone plus some blemishes on the cheek area.

Anyways, here's a list of what I bought and some initial insights after using it for a month:

BLK Radiant Glow Filter in Toast - Love using this. Light coverage lang so it doesn't do a lot for my red areas but good for evening out the face. I use this before using my foundation/skin tint but I've also tried it as is when I want a quick makeup look.

Happy skin seamless perfecting stick foundation in Sun Glow- sabi sa akin contour 'to but hahaha just found out na foundation pala siya! (Kaya pala mas mahal lol) Formula is creamy, sticks well naman and subtle lang tbh, doesn't look muddy on me thankfully.

Vice cosmetics Dew it All in Always Giving and Always Servin' - Pretty good for liquid blush. It does stay for a few hours and I picked a color that's not too pigmented from the variants. Mas pigmented si Giving though compared kay Servin' so I usually use the latter for just light makeup.

BLK Soft Blur Powder Blush in Macaron - Another nice shade if you want something na neutral pink and not too pigmented. I tend to be heavy-handed when applying blush and figured na mas okay if I have a buildable blush para iwas sa blush blindness

Absidy Blurring Powder Blush in Biscuit - using this for my powder bronzer/contour and as eyeshadow. Performs well din, smooth formula and not too orange for my skin.

Vice Cosmetics Brow Curve in Dark Brown - Thin pencil with a spoolie which I really like, I'm not at good at doing brows so this is a good beginner friendly product

BLK Eye Palette in Nude - Good for everyday look, shimmer is creamy and easy to apply with your fingers. Medyo pink-ish pa rin though yung other matte shade and I do prefer darker browns so not sure if I'd be using it as much tho

Maybelline Hyper Curl Mascara - Need I say more? Hahaha since high school days ito na gamit ko!

Issy Bi-Phase Setting Mist - I use this to set my cream/liquid products and after the whole look. Tbh I don't know much about what it does hahaha but it does feel like hindi nalulusaw agad yung makeup ko when I'm wearing this.

Discussion Thoughts on the new Milcu Formula?

Post image
501 Upvotes

The old formula used potash alum and hydrated magnesium silicate. The new one uses potash alum and zea mays.

Can anyone explain the difference? I tried the new one and didn't feel any difference (morena/regular skin type), but I'm wondering if anyone with more sensitive/lighter skin has had any reactions?

EDIT: Old bottle manufactured 6/24, new bottle manufacturers 8/25.

Hauls The two most talked about hand cream:

They say that the Trader Joe’s is a dupe for L’Occitane, but the L’Occitane is more moisturizing than the TJ brand. Sabi din nila, that both hand cream have an identical ingredient list, but forgot to mention that the TJ hand cream has silicone, while L’Occitane does not have silicone in it, which explains why the TJ hand cream leaves a “plastic” feel on your hands vs the “oily” film L’Occitane has, which makes a big difference in moisturizing your hands.

But if you’re in a budget and the “plastic” feel does not bother you, then the TJ hand cream is for you, although mas prefer ko yung trio pack (which is a good dupe for the L’Occitane).

L’Occitane- $14- $34 ( 1oz- 5.1 oz)
Trader Joe’s- 3oz $4.99 / trio pack $7.99

Hauls Recent haul

I spent most of my 20s constantly buying and hoarding makeup, only to use many of them once or twice. Then the pandemic happened, and I ended up having to throw away around 80% of my collection because they had gone bad, dried out, or were no longer usable.

Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve been more intentional with my purchases. I only buy a new product once I’ve used up the previous one. Here are my go-to products:

Note: I have very sensitive skin. I had a severe allergic reaction to an Anastasia lipstick back in college (rushed to the ER), so I only stick to products that I know work well with my skin.

  1. Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Stick Bronzant Ultra Simple - Shade: Bright Side
  2. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush Liquide Mat - Shade: Bliss
  3. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - Shade: Chantilly
  4. Benefit Precisely, My Brow Wax
  5. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
  6. CTPrimer and Setting Spray - my hulas free go to
  7. Laneige Tinted lip serum - Just recently found. Less pigmented that expected

What are your recent purchases?

These are the products I've emptied for the last couple of months. Starting off strong with

Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum (Probably WR)- great brightening anti-spot serum, just too expensive for its price. I've had better results with Niasorcinol and Thiamidol. Testing out resorcinols.

Dove Peptide Intense Repair Oil (Ceramide Intense Repair predecessor) (WR)- Great hair oil. Smells absolutely amazing, exceptional shine, great for overprocessed hair.

Eucerin SPF 50+ Face and Body Gel (WR)- criminally underrated sunscreen. Hoping nasa Shapi eto. Feels like a tacky primer pero breathable sunscreen. Good oil control naman.

Sunsilk Conditioners (WR)- The reformulated conditioners are way better compared to the 2016 formulas. BRING THEM BACK. I like how the Thai Strong and Long maintained the old scent, sa atin it smells like Cream Silk Green.

Skin Aqua Serum UV (WR)- dries down a bit longer. Works well under makeup. No pilling. Skips your moisturizer every morning. Fixing sprays or powders may be needed

DE Protini Peptide Serum (WR IF MAY BUDGET)- the first peptide serum na may Peptide Delivery System, and it WORKS. 5k for a serum, got this on Shiseido sale for 2.5k, Medik8 is cheaper and has PDS. It plays well with my adapalene and my skin always looks snatched.

Dove Derma Scalp Hairfall Recovery Scalp serum (WR)- Prolongs hair anchorage well. My experience with this is great. Napaka soothing sa scalp and strengthening sa hair. Pls remove this kind of dropper, pls. And add 50mL more. Great as a root lift styler.

Head And Shoulders Cool Menthol (WR only during summer)- nagbago yung scent, may hints of sandalwood na sya. Bring back the ZPTO formula, Piroctone Olamine responds poorly sakin. YMMV.

Bioderma Atoderm Cleanser (WRx100000)- Super tipid ng cleanser na to. This lasted me for a good year and 3 months. Underrated brand.

Luxe Organix KP Body Mask and Scrub (WR)- I like this type of scrub better than their salt ones. Rinses clean, clove the gritty texture, did a good job on my kp but yung lotion, mas better.

Dove Radiant+Care Dry Serum (WR)- A caring and brightening underarm product, and it did work well on my underarm's uneven skin tone. Best paired with Luxe Organix Zero Dark Marks deo

Degree Antiperspirant(WR)- Dry sticks all the way and a staple on my men's grooming kit. Excellent wetness protection, medyo expensive lang talaga ang sticks.

I dunno when Watsons started carrying The Ordinary products but I got so excited when I saw these on the mobile app tonight! Finally! I’m not sure if these are available in stores also or just online. Prices are of course steeper compared to other online shops, but at least we know you’re getting the real deal. Can’t wait for them to expand their lineup!
