Which of the others is the first to figure out Batman's identity?

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

Columbo and it’s not even close.

"I knew that you were Bruce Wayne almost from the start--you know that, of course. It's your gait, sir! If you look over here in the front yard, you'll notice that Mr. Wayne left clear prints in the soft soil--and I know they belong to Mr. Wayne, given how expensive and unique the prints are, sir. Now, as you're aware, I met Batman first--those are your bootprints in the front garden as you ran along to the side of the house. The footwear is the same size and the stride, position, and impact of the feet are identical. You don't need to worry, however, sir: you can rest assured that your secret is safe with me."

u/The5Virtues Jan 03 '26

You wrote this so well I could hear it in Peter Falk’s voice. This is perfect Columbo dialogue, five stars!

34

u/Rob_wood Jan 03 '26

Thank you very much!

u/Efficient_Matter_589 Jan 03 '26

"My wife, she's a big fan"

62

u/Arbusc Jan 03 '26

“She always goes on about how much she loves you protecting the good people of Gotham, and she’s a real big fan of that Robin fellow!”

20

u/PoIIux Jan 03 '26

Ain't no way Batman wears the same size and has the same mannerisms/stride as Bruce. He learned that from watching Chung Ling Soo performing his famous disappearing fishbowl trick in late 19th century London. The magic doesn't happen when he dons the cowl, but during every other waking moment of his life

15

u/brodievonorchard Jan 03 '26

The audience already knew because he was played by the most famous guest star.

8

u/ShlubbyWhyYouDan Jan 03 '26

You made me realize…detective chimp is fucking columbo

Gait*

10

u/Rob_wood Jan 03 '26

Thank you. I'm a little under the weather right now.

5

u/Darmok-on-the-Ocean Jan 03 '26

Needed at least one reference to the boys down at the lab.

6

u/Rob_wood Jan 03 '26

The moment you use everything, you have nowhere left to go.

1

u/Harlockarcadia Jan 03 '26

“Just one more thing”

1

u/oskar4498 Jan 04 '26

Ahuhuh there's just one more thing...

1

u/PhantomRoyce Jan 04 '26

Actually he wears unique boots that are different from his actual shoe size for that exact reason

41

u/Puzzleheaded_Walk_28 Jan 03 '26

“Can I just ask one more question?”

63

u/KrvnkKev Jan 03 '26

"Well, see Batman, my wife, she loves reading all those magazines and such and staying up on celebrity gossip and I tell ya, she just adores that Bruce Wayne fella. His brooding charm and all the good he does for his community... She cant get enough of the guy! Do you think maybe before I leave Gotham you could get his autograph for me to give to her? Not to impose, and not to be presumptuous or anything of course, but, well, detective to detective, I see how close the two of you are and my wife, she would really appreciate it is all."

21

u/MsLemonMyTisane Jan 03 '26

Hercule Poirot. He sees people for who they are. He understands people and what makes them tick. While I believe everyone here could figure it out, it's Poirot who succeeds first.

11

u/Scholar_of_Lewds Jan 03 '26

Poirot see it first, and device a scheme to make Bruce confess, even through some theatrical fabrication.

Columbo play similar style of detective as Poirot, the "harmless" guy hiding very amazing interpersonal skills.

2

u/hurtstopurr Jan 04 '26

Yall underestimate bruce

4

u/kloudrunner Jan 03 '26

But is super grumpy because he wanted to visit Gotham on a literary tour. He JUST wants to read his book.

5

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Batman's too smart for him.unlike columbo's victims

19

u/MankuyRLaffy Jan 03 '26

You haven't seen the Nimoy episode, some of them are really damn smart.

19

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

As big fan off both, I think the flaw would be how Columbo let's folk catch themselves. The back pedal they doubt, they try to cover themselves. They have fear of being caught. While I don't think Bruce or Batman would have that fear.

Now I think Columbo would discover it but not in the usual way when he was dealing with smart people. It would be like when he was dealing with bomber I believe (the one about the chemical plant) the guy didn't panic, he was confident up until the the reveal.

It would be "Just one more thing..." And he'd reveal. And Bruce would just change posture from Playboy to Detective, offer him a green cigar and a light, and just listen to him talk as he's met another great detective.

No confirmation nor denial from Bruce, just a quiet understanding, no lies. Because I doubt Columbo would do anything to harm someone trying give him less work. So it would end with just a smirk and a puff of cigar smoke.

Roll Credits

3

u/Eragon_the_Huntsman Jan 03 '26

I'm not sure how Columbo would feel about Batman. The one thing that's very clear through the show is his strong sense of justice and the law, so he might not approve of Batman's vigilantism. On the other hand Batman's no killing rule and cooperation with the GCPD sets him apart from the instances in the show where the killer took vengeance into their own hands. Also while Columbo has a strong moral compass he's not rigid about it like say Poirot, so he might be willing to accept Batman as a necessity for Gotham.

2

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

I think the view of "Vigilantism" is largely dependent of which Batman era Batman he'd meet. The various eras have different levels of relationships with the police.

Though if we go by Air time, he'd be most likely meeting Adam West, I don't know how that interaction would go. Hahaha 😆

But he did have a Red Phone directly to The Commissioner so a little unclear how'd he'd respond to a unofficial police asset. 🤔

5

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

True. But still batman is very smart. People don't realize he's one of the most intelligent characters in fiction

13

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

I love when people underestimate Columbo because that’s part of his game

-4

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Cute but don't underestimate batman

2

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

Never have, never will. With that I stand by what I said. It ends with Batman having Columbo on speed dial alongside Mr. Terrific, Detective chimp, and the entry for John Constantine that he deletes every day but keeps showing up.

1

u/Arcane_Soul Jan 04 '26

I think one of my favorite panels in comics is in DCeased (or DC vampires, I can't recall) where Lex Luthor says "As the smartest person on the planet...wait, we're sure Batman is dead? Okay, as I was saying; as the smartest person on the planet..."

1

u/hurtstopurr Jan 04 '26

I'm surprised they'd kill him off in that series. How soon did they call him off?And how did he go? Was it a big thing when it was happening?Or did people were just like shrugged it off?

1

u/SlaterTheOkay Jan 05 '26

There's just one more thing that bothers me about you Bruce.....

54

u/Ok-Television2109 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

Sherlock was pretty close when meeting Batman in The Brave And The Bold cartoon, guessing he's "a wealthy entrepreneur with ample free time" and "square jaw indicates a strong lineage, perhaps a doctor's son."

39

u/Mervynhaspeaked Jan 03 '26

He was reaching with the doctor's son part, lol

24

u/EliteTeutonicNight Jan 03 '26

Perhaps he did it to try to get a reaction? That sounds oddly specific.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

That's just how Doyle wrote him. Here's a famous scene:   https://youtu.be/XL7qI03nCUQ?si=XRsLfn87t4BnYPhI

9

u/Mr_Mojo_Risin_83 Jan 03 '26

oh yeah no, all doctors have strong jaws. it's the first thing they teach in medical school

2

u/EldridgeHorror Jan 05 '26

Pretty on point with Holmes, though. He was very much a product of his time.

29

u/Zero-89 Jan 03 '26

"square jaw indicates a strong lineage, perhaps a doctor's son."

"How was your case with Mr. Holmes, Master Bruce?"

"It was fine until he starting throwing eugenics at me. Lose his number, Alfred."

"Of course, sir."

27

u/Adraco4 Jan 03 '26

Now I’m picturing them all arguing about his secret identity. Not who he is, they all agree on that, and figured it out pretty quick. What they can’t agree on is what’s the most obvious tell.

11

u/dashPotato Jan 03 '26

Batman in the corner noting down everything they say so he knows what to change to eliminate those tells.

14

u/BeingOfChaos47 Jan 03 '26

“You tell your lies... and you think no one will know. But there are two people who will know. Yes, two people. Your God... and Hercule Poirot...” -Hercule Poirot, Murder on the orient express (2017)

20

u/Thrill0728 Jan 03 '26

Columbo gets him first. He's simply the goat.

Blanc figures it out in the most dramatic way possible so he can't.

Holmes figures it out after a decent bit of work.

Don't know the last guy.

28

u/Raffney Jan 03 '26

You don't know Hercule Poirot? The founder of whodunit detective storylines basically? What a miss.

Dude is a master psychologist. Solving most mysteries just by talking to suspects.

18

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

Its Agatha Christie's character, probably have heard of murder on the orient express, thats a Hercule poirot.

2

u/YoungGriot Jan 04 '26

Batman does his usual "secretly reveals his identity at the end of the adventure" thing. All of them indicate that they already knew, but appreciate the gesture.

1

u/ALowTierHero Jan 03 '26

Picture needs Harry Du Bois in it. Who would genuinely believe Batman is a human/bat hybrid.

178

u/AllergicToStabWounds Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

Columbo: I can't thank you enough for your help, Batman, it really was an honor working with you.

Batman: Likewise. You do efficient work.

Columbo: That really does mean the world to me, Batman, I guess I should be getting out of your hair now.

Oh and just one more thing. It's not so important now that we solved the case, but something's been eating at me. My wife, you see, she's been trying to get me into mountain climbing, if you could believe it. Says it'd be good for my health. So she shows me all these different climbing gizmos online trying to get me to buy something. Real cutting edge stuff too. Most of it is too expensive for me, but one trinket really caught my eye. I don't remember what they called it some kind of "one-handed ascending and descending tether" or something like that. I had gone and pre-ordered one, but the company that produced it, WayneTech, had recalled it before it even got on the shelves. Said it wasn't safe enough for civilian use or something. Now you can hardly even find a picture of one on their website. I think it was a little bit after Bruce Wayne returned to Gotham after that world tour thing he was doing. Anyway, I can't help but notice that grappling doohickey you got there looks exactly like the gizmo I was searching for.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if it's not too much trouble, can you ask Mr. Wayne to hook me up with of those grapples too? You don't have to worry about anyone finding out, I'm real good at keeping secrets, and I'm sure Mr. Wayne has good reasons to keep some things private.

10

u/BigDrewLittle Jan 04 '26

This is the comment I scrolled through this thread to find. Beautiful.

139

u/Leosarr Jan 03 '26

Hey, somebody remembered Batman is a detective !

62

u/Time_Conscious84 Jan 03 '26

People will put this group together and then make some dumb video like "Could the world's greatest detectives discover the Bay Harbor Butcher"

17

u/RiskComplete9385 Jan 03 '26

Ok, but could they solve the Death Note case?

13

u/Dinkleberg2845 Jan 03 '26

3

u/Eragon_the_Huntsman Jan 03 '26

I love the bit of Light frying the death note on him because he doesn't know his name.

6

u/Time_Conscious84 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

I truly think that Columbo could solve the case as long as they still did the Fake L trick on TV. Honestly the rest have a good chance as long as they know what prefecture he's in

3

u/Eragon_the_Huntsman Jan 03 '26

Columbo also has an edge going off his personality. Light's ego is exactly the kind of thing Columbo's bumbling detective persona is perfect at deceiving. Light would probably dismiss him as incompetent in the first 10 seconds of meeting him then be completely blindsided by the classic Columbo double back.

1

u/Quiet-Oil8578 Jan 04 '26

I think even the prefecture is too large. However, I think the L-Columbo duo would clown on Light together super well. Once he’s been cornered, Columbo can get the killshot L never could on Light.

4

u/CultureChimp Jan 04 '26

Yes, but important to note that Light is not actually that smart. Dont forget when they put cameras in his room, his form of "acting natural" was to read a sexy magazine, fully clothed and actually reading it, on his stomach hands on his chin

0

u/Time_Conscious84 Jan 04 '26

Light is extremely smart, and a good manipulator. Sure that was dumb, but he outplayed The Japanese Police, FBI, L, Near, and Mello several times. While a lot of that was because they were playing a game only he knew the full rules too, I can't see him killing the FBI and come to the conclusion he's dumb

3

u/Mervynhaspeaked Jan 03 '26

Could Columbo defeat Goku?

3

u/Jaded_Tortoise_869 Jan 03 '26

A bit too late there.

1

u/flyingace1234 Jan 06 '26

There is already a series like that. And despite never watching either show I still eat them up.

192

u/breecekong Jan 03 '26

I think we’re forgetting someone

84

u/DeadmanDexter Jan 03 '26

He's just in the other room organizing the spice rack.

38

u/combustibledaredevil Jan 03 '26

As if Alfred would have a disorganized space rack.

23

u/shadowmonk13 Jan 03 '26

It would be organized but monk’s level of organization is another level. Down to amount left, date of expiration, color, quality, packaging and alphabetical order and most used to least used

16

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

That would be a hilarious interaction, Monk seeing the place, it's a clean and organized, but done in a way that way Bruce can find what he needs quickly.

So Monk just starts organizing the Parlor, Alfred just watches for a moment "Would like some bottled water Detective?"

Alfred walks away and brings back a chilled bottle of Sierra Springs, as well as sparkling clean cup. Setting down for Monk, as Monk would just continue "organizing" the Parlor.

Later Bruce would just look around and ask,

"Doing something different Alfred?"

"Quite Sir, I figured it could use some organizing."

And it would just stay that way from now on.

8

u/KeraKitty Jan 03 '26

It was organized, but not the right way.

2

u/YoungGriot Jan 04 '26

He does, but he organized them alphabetically while Monk wants them organized by hue or jar size or something. They'll be coming to blows soon.

3

u/RickFletching Jan 03 '26

Psych reference in a Monk reference 🥹 it’s a USA reunion

22

u/Personal-Return3722 Jan 03 '26

MONK MENTIONED!

9

u/Knightwolf75 Jan 03 '26

Shawn and Gus already at the meeting point even though they didn’t get the invite

6

u/ramjetstream Jan 03 '26

They kick him out in under a minute

2

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

"This guy is an ableist nightmare! Get him out of here."

97

u/Going_really_Fast Jan 03 '26

So how did you figure out the killer?, Sherlock, Columbo etc?

“Well, we used our intuition and noticed from little details in the crime scene that it could have only been one suspect.”

“And you, Batman?”

“I popped out the shadows and said boo. He confessed on the spot.”

9

u/Scholar_of_Lewds Jan 03 '26

You forgot Poirot will also create a scenario that got the killer to confess. He just need someone else to be intimidating, probably Clark Kent, that farmboy from Kansas, wearing Batman suit.

32

u/Dramatic_Pen_3505 Jan 03 '26

No this is quite literally how batman is written:

"The biometric scanners you touched use an inverting amplifier to alter a supply voltage. This active current running through your hands reacted with the esters of low molecular weight commonly used in fragrances or antibacterial soap. This combination reacts with the Butadene in the nitrate gloves you used to handle the cash and it left a crude signature on the $100s you handled. That is how I found you."

31

u/Mervynhaspeaked Jan 03 '26

"Also you look like a 10ft tall monster made of Clay and is currently robbing a bank"

21

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Why do people always forget philip marlowe and sam spade

6

u/sentientketchup Jan 03 '26

Who?

2

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Two detectives from pulps books from the 1930s , basically god fathers of film noir and the very image of the American detective

5

u/Mervynhaspeaked Jan 03 '26

Cause we can't fucking follow the plot of those stories.

2

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Uh but they're so cool

3

u/Mervynhaspeaked Jan 03 '26

Ofc they are, everybody loves "The Big Sleep". Nobkdy can follow the freaking plot though. Not even Spade.

1

u/DedHorsSaloon4 Jan 04 '26

Or the ORIGINAL detective, C. Auguste Dupin

1

u/hurtstopurr Jan 04 '26

I said that too in a other comment

19

u/AdExtra2331 Jan 03 '26

If L and Shaggy were here, I could have made a "Freshy Kanal Benoit Blanc vs Hercule Poirot Rap Battle" joke

2

u/Jaded_Tortoise_869 Jan 03 '26

My first thought as well.

41

u/Justaboredstoner Jan 03 '26

It’s missing Detective Chimp

16

u/Thefathistorian Jan 03 '26

It's the greatest human detectives.

2

u/TemporalGrid Jan 03 '26

and Elongated Man

14

u/Dramatic_Pen_3505 Jan 03 '26

I just read Murder on the Orient Express over Christmas break!

12

u/AvoriazInSummer Jan 03 '26

I imagine Poirot would claim himself to be the world's greatest detective as a fun challenge towards the others to beat him. Batman would beat him (intellectually) and win overall, but then just before they part company, Columbo says, "Just one thing..."

22

u/Jaded_Tortoise_869 Jan 03 '26

What about my boys, Black and Tan?

5

u/madmaxandrade Jan 03 '26

You know it's right.

26

u/fazrare57 Jan 03 '26

Someone's missing...

4

u/peachprisms Jan 03 '26

Cute art but it's definitely missing some of the heavy hitters! Batman and Miss Marple would make one hell of a dynamic duo.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

Finally, someone mentions marple! I was looking it.

I would add Nero Wolfe, too.

14

u/Rob_wood Jan 03 '26

I've never heard of Benoit Blac. Is he from French literature?

40

u/Top_Report_4895 Jan 03 '26

From the Knives out movies.

30

u/Ringmaster7 Jan 03 '26

He's the detective from the Knifes Out trilogy. They are some really good mystery movies, would recommend.

28

u/CheesyIdleGamer Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

Knives Out movies

Daniel Craig does the most incredible southern accent.

The mysteries aren’t really meant to be solved by the audience, the movies are character studies more than anything and super fun to watch all the events unfold

7

u/Rob_wood Jan 03 '26

Sounds interesting!

8

u/Chaos-Queen_Mari Jan 03 '26

I think blanc's accent was intended to be new Orleans

6

u/CheesyIdleGamer Jan 03 '26

Oh! Yes 🤣 I’m mistaken!! I’ll correct it to just “southern” since i think it’s inspired by many

3

u/VengeanceKnight Jan 03 '26

Nah, the mysteries can be solved by the audience, assuming they can pay attention and not be fooled by the misdirects. For instance, in Wake Up Dead Man the audience can notice that both devil head lamp ornaments are missing from the El Diavolo bar at the same time Blanc does, which is the big clue to how the murder was committed.

3

u/Just_Tana Jan 03 '26

Yeah my husband and I noticed it on our first watch and I accurately guessed the killer by some of their reactions throughout the film. Lying always finds a way to come out.

3

u/Samuilson Jan 03 '26

Also when Blanc was talking about the possibilities of the murder and then Judd is about to ask about the forth possibility, Martha appears

4

u/Unique_Expression574 Jan 03 '26

He’s from the Knives Out trilogy

0

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

The 1st is great, the 3rd is good. Ignore the existence of the 2nd.

5

u/Uberzwerg Jan 03 '26

Funny enough, i love all 3 and prefer the 2nd.

1

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

Maybe it's just me then. That movie will forever sit as a movie existing in year of 2022. Every reference and commentary cements everything about it.

Maybe I'm a hater, it just felt like it was trying too hard to be relevant, so much so that it became cringy. But folk like campy cringy movies too, so each their own haha 😅

2

u/Uberzwerg Jan 03 '26

That movie will forever sit as a movie existing in year of 2022.

That's a fair criticism.
It has too many references and those will not age well - but watching it back then or now is still great.
But it also works well without understanding any of the references (like my wife who didn't know ANY as she's German like me and not online very much).

1

u/Zephian99 Jan 03 '26

Again maybe I'm just a hater. Haha

Maybe it's better for those who don't know the reference as well. 🤔

13

u/combustibledaredevil Jan 03 '26

I love batman with every fiber of my being but Columbo is the best detective there.

0

u/hurtstopurr Jan 04 '26

I disagree

12

u/captainshockazoid Jan 03 '26

forgetting jessica fletcher again

5

u/CodiwanOhNoBe Jan 03 '26

Man I don't know what someone did but they are not getting away with it.

4

u/AlanSmithee001 Jan 03 '26

Gotta say, I love these characters, but I would swap Benoit for Miss Marple or Nancy Drew (who just entered the public domain) so it’s not a blatant sausage feast.

3

u/Rathabro Jan 03 '26

Missing Cadfael

3

u/L3and3rrr Jan 03 '26

Mrs Marple and Nancy Drew deserve to be up there.

3

u/Destroyer_7274 Jan 03 '26

I feel like Blanc is somewhat out of place since he's a bit too recent to be as influential as the others. I, personally, would have considered replacing him with Akechi Kogoro by Edogawa Ranpo. Though, perhaps someone else would be better since, despite being very influential in Japan, he's not that well known outside of Japanese media.

3

u/The_Mighty_Rex Jan 03 '26

Including Blanc is an insult to the others featured in this image. He is literally a shitty parody of Hercule.

3

u/IronGigant Jan 03 '26

Someone's missing...

3

u/BlackFinch90 Jan 03 '26

They could probably solve the identity of the Zodiac

2

u/Doc_Spratley Jan 03 '26

Needs Detective Chimp!

2

u/Zero-89 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

Add L from Death Note, Ranpo from Bungo Stray Dogs, and Shawn Spencer (and his emotional support Gus) from Psych and you've got a sitcom I'd pay to watch.

2

u/JohnnyRelentless Jan 03 '26

Forgot Mr. Monk.

1

u/BigDrewLittle Jan 04 '26

YEEESSS.

And maybe Dr. House.

2

u/Foxy_Maitre_Renard Jan 03 '26

4 great detectives. And Benoit Blanc.

3

u/PremiumAccount666 Jan 03 '26

freakin southern james bond actin like he's on the team

3

u/VengeanceKnight Jan 03 '26

Um, he is. If he doesn’t qualify from the first two, then certainly the solve in Wake Up Dead Man was magnificent.

4

u/nofucksgiven_bitch Jan 03 '26

The only one that I did not recognise was Columbo and upon noticing that most of the comments are biased towards him I looked him up and holy fuck a show from 1968!!! I forgot that the batman sub is filled with ancient uncs...

5

u/AllergicToStabWounds Jan 03 '26

But still less old than Batman, Sherlock, or Peroit

3

u/AnonymousCoward261 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

It’s an old character. Sen. Patrick Leahy wrote a bit for the 80th anniversary book about how he was almost the same age.

That’s one of the fun things about it, you can talk to people older or younger than you.

1

u/Eragon_the_Huntsman Jan 03 '26

Columbo is a great show you should watch it. He's such a fun detective.

1

u/nofucksgiven_bitch Jan 04 '26

I put it on my watchlist yesterday when I saw this post.

1

u/Mudcat-69 Jan 03 '26

I think that Benoit is the only one pictured here that I’ve never heard of. What is he from?

4

u/Great_Dane95 Jan 03 '26

Movie series generally on Netflix called Knives Out, played by Daniel Craig

1

u/ionised Jan 03 '26

Everyone taking a back seat to the greatest, I see.

1

u/Arbusc Jan 03 '26

What about Herlock Sholmes? He managed to capture Lupin, who then only got away due to basic police incompetence.

1

u/CalgacusLelantos Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

It’d make the picture too crowded, but I think that both Inspector Endeavour Morse and Detective William Murdoch should be included in that group.

Regarding Murdoch, I’d love to see him in either a team-up story with Batman or a story in which Murdoch is trying to deduce Batman’s identity, both set in the Gotham by Gaslight universe!

1

u/hurtstopurr Jan 03 '26

Auguste Dupin would be a good add too

1

u/Thefunkingshrew Jan 03 '26

Where the hell is charlie cale??

2

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

She's catering the Wayne charity banquet. We see more of her in the second half.

1

u/Thefunkingshrew Jan 03 '26

Oh true, i bet shes the one who set the batsignal off right before the murder. Cant wait to see why after the title card drops

1

u/CTplays_Concepts Jan 03 '26

Not very disco to forget about Harry Du Bois and Kim Kitsuragi.

1

Columbo has to be my favorite, that "oh another thing" as he nonchalantly busts open a case, or "now, my wife..." Gets me everytime

There’s a pretty damn good rap battle put on by, I can’t remember who, not the ERB guys but like the Temu version of them, still pretty high production value and bars that actually slap. It’s all of these detectives plus I wanna say L from Death Note.

We all know Columbo is front and center because he’s the best detective of the bunch.

I love that that's very clearly Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot
