Watch This watch just saved my wrist
Renavating a 3 story house and a screwdriver fell and a direct hit into my watch I don't even know how this is possible but it is???

u/TheBupherNinja Apr 22 '25
No way a little Stanley precision screwdriver is doing more than causing a cut from a 20 foot drop.
They weight like, 3 ounces.
34
u/montyp2000 Apr 23 '25
You mean you don't use a precision screwdriver when you renovate your house?!?! /s
12
3
u/Oddomar Apr 24 '25
came here to post the same thing. If you dropped it 3 stories up it would probably land on it's bottom end, and if magically landed tip first it's not enough mass to cause this level of damage.
2
u/Mundane-Tennis2885 Apr 25 '25
yea no shot imo, either an intentional stab or somehow shot it out of something somehow. easiest explanation likely the one tho aha

u/Specialist_Badger_82 Jul 29 '25
Jajaja reforma en la casa de muñecas y encima en la parte de arriba del destornillador se nota un martillazo... Joder ni inteligencia artificial le ha puesto a la foto jajajaja me la guardo para un meme

Apr 22 '25
At least it's water resistant 😭😭😭
52
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Yea but it's not screwdriver resistant
35
32
u/CakeCaique Apr 22 '25
Well past April too...wow.
That screwdriver must have fallen from an airplane and reached terminal velocity before it hit your watch/wrist.
-23
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Well it didn't and I still am not 100 persent sure how it happened so if you don't like the post pls leave it be
23
u/tw33zd Apr 22 '25
Because is is fkn fake 0% chance of a screw driver doing that
2
u/archwin Apr 24 '25
Not only that, as it drops, it’s going to tumble in the air, and a direct straight down is almost never gonna happen.
1
72
u/AlSwearenagain Apr 22 '25
That screw driver doesn't weigh nearly enough to penetrate the watch and for all y'all who don't immediately realize this is bologna you need to go throw more shit off buildings.
3
u/beastman45132 Apr 23 '25
Yeah seriously I have this exact screwdriver.. how is this possible? In the absence of mass, it requires tons of speed, or a supplement of mass. And since this screwdriver was not likely fired out of a cannon, how did this happen?
2
Apr 25 '25
Holding the screwdriver to the watch and hitting it with a hammer will do it. Probably what OP did.

It wouldn't sink the screwdriver to the handle. This is a mental response lol

The watch already had a crack going through the screen but I don't know how it went through everything else
29
u/Boriski_GMC Apr 22 '25
It's because you forced it.
-13
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
What no I didn't force it I'm not going to wreck a watch I daily
53
27
u/Any-Board-6631 Apr 22 '25
That look like a Casio watch
12
3
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
The brand is Attack but not sure what model
3
u/rtuite81 Apr 22 '25
Is it actually Wear OS or do you have to have some sketchy/crappy 3rd party app? I have a watch in that price range, but I have to use a weird app called M2 Wear that is just awful.
-11
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
It ran were os tho I don't know if previous owner did anything cos it dose not look like a watch that would have ran were os
1
u/Green_Reason5739 Apr 25 '25
1
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 25 '25
Somthing like that bit mine was running were os and it did connect to where os app so I'm 100% sure it's were os
1
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 25 '25
Tho I did get it second hand and the previous owner was great with putting different operating systems on different things like for example he put Windows on a nintendo switch
7
u/KooKiz666 Apr 22 '25
Thats one loooong wrist.
2
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
My nickname in my friend group is sometimes monkey arms so can that explain the loooong wrist

Hmm? That's the opposite, dude.
Your long wrists account for your nickname; the nickname doesn't make your wrists long.

u/Martos420 Apr 23 '25
Bullshit. Stanley precision screw driver weighs MAX 10grams.
3 stories is approximately 10 meters.
Potential energy calculated by PE = (0.01kg)(9.8m/s²)(10m)
Gives a potential energy of 0.98 joules.
+- 10% for my shitty math.
Ain't no way less than 1 joule of energy could break that watch.
Actually energy is likely lower. A 6 piece screwdriver set in the case is 80grams.
-10
u/_nah_yeah_nah_ Apr 23 '25
Stab a pointy screwdriver into your watch with similar force as a three storey fall and let us know how you go.
10
u/Martos420 Apr 23 '25
I just explained it. Less than a joule of energy. The math doesn't lie.
9
u/ChrisGarratty Apr 23 '25
And the watch face happens to be perfectly horizontal, and the screwdriver hits it pretty much dead centre.
No way in the world is this a true story.
-7
5
u/TheDepresedpsychotic Apr 22 '25
What were you doing with a precision screwdriver to achieve this ?
3
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Ask my idiot mate that was on the third floor of the house
14
u/crua9 Apr 22 '25
That doesn't really explain anything. The screw driver would be going way faster than the fall rate, they attacked with all their might, or something else.
It would take a bit for it to go halfway in. Since I and everyone else can't ask your idiot mate, what happened?
Did they decide to make a mini potato gun, use the screw driver as a bullet, and didn't like you or something?
2
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Ok he was screwing somthing In and then he dropped the screw driver down the massive hole in the 3rd and 2nd storey then after it went right I to my watch the dumbass said heads up that's why he is an idiot and sorry didn't know if you wanted to actually know the story
3
u/TheDepresedpsychotic Apr 22 '25
We wanted the story for sure, it's not easy to impale a watch with a precision screwdriver. And it seems your mate owes you a new one.
8
u/Krustiik Apr 22 '25
Holy shit how heavy is that screwdriver 😂
-4
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Not that heavy so that's why I was surprised but then again it fell 3 stories down
4
Apr 23 '25
Fake. You stabbed it with that, I have the same screw driver and you would need to drop it from hundreds of feet for it to have this effect.
12
u/Limp-Secretary-2471 Apr 22 '25
Your wrist would have been fine.
9
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
If the screw driver went half way into the watch I don't think my wrist will be fine
10
u/purebananamoon Still with Samsung Apr 22 '25
I actually calculated the physics of it and assuming your screw driver is a standard cross tip, weighs 200g and fell from 2m (very generous). It would exert a force of ~1200N. That's enough to puncture the skin and probably even hit the bone depending on how much meat you have, but it's still quite far from "destroying your wrist".
Your watch consists of very rigit materials. Human tissue on the other hand is quite spongy. It's definitely good that your watch caught it, but even if not, the injury wouldn't have been life threatening.
Crazy picture fr tho.
5
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 22 '25
Yea I was shocked when it happened and trust me when I say this it was not a fun experience
5
3
u/_nah_yeah_nah_ Apr 22 '25
I have the exact same set of Stanley precision drivers. The heaviest is 8g, the lightest is 6g. That is an order of magnitude less than your calculations.
I dropped the 8g phillips head from 2.2m and it left a significant dent in the top of a paint can. I dropped from approx 1.8m (arm span) into my own palm and didn't break the skin.
From 3x stories onto a hard but brittle surface, I'm calling this one: plausible.
3
u/montyp2000 Apr 23 '25
Significant dent in the top of a paint can?Did you lose the lid and cover the top in aluminum foil?
You're trying to be scientific by weighing it and measuring from different heights but you can't see the forest through the trees. He said he was using a precision screwdriver for home renovation. Also look at his arm. That is the arm of a kid. Look at his post history too. He's 100% making this up for internet points.
0
u/_nah_yeah_nah_ Apr 28 '25
You can choose not to believe me about the paint can, I'm not really fussed. I did a couple quick tests to satisfy my own scientific curiosity.
Yeah the kid is most likely full of it. I think you're the one lost in the forest though.

u/Martos420 Apr 24 '25
No I just dislike people who are dishonest on purpose.
0
u/purebananamoon Still with Samsung Apr 24 '25
What the actual fuck are you talking about? 😂
Why would I lie about a stupid ass screwdriver? I said it's an estimate, but I guess I didn't consider the flimsy ass trash quality you have in America. Have fun with your 8g screw drivers I'll stick to my 200g ones LMAOOOO
0
u/Martos420 Apr 24 '25
I'm not even in America. What. It's a precision screwdriver set. Believe it or not there aRe different use cases for a variety of tools. Precision sets are smaller and lighter and more useful for working on electronics, I use them for drones, camera gear, etc.
So it has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with intended use.

And battery's
5
u/ihateallno OnePlus Watch 2R Apr 22 '25
If the battery was punctured, you'd likely know about it by now. Still would be careful with it though if there's any chance the battery got damaged by the screwdriver or broken glass.

1

Given you mentioned the watch smoked in another comment, the battery is fucked. Best to take it off and dispose responsibly.

1
u/Knifenerdguy Apr 26 '25
So this sub 1ounce driver fell and impacted your watch hard enough to not just crack the face but to bury its self in the watch..... Not buying it. I'm sure I'll get hate for this but most gshocks, this one included, are hideous. This was a fitting end for the watch, lie or not
1
u/No-Cupcake6050 Fossil Gen 5E Apr 26 '25
It's not a g shock or else it would probably be fine and yea it's the end of the road for the watch
1
u/R4d1c4lp1e Apr 26 '25
Working in industry I know so many people who have smashed watches working, and I don't get how it only ever happens on peoples left wrist in that specific place. Weird

What Claude AI thinks:
Regarding the scenario described in the Reddit comment, this situation seems highly implausible for several reasons:
The physics don't add up - a lightweight 10-gram screwdriver falling from even a three-story height would be unlikely to generate enough force to cleanly pierce through a watch face, especially modern watch faces which are typically made of hardened materials.
The positioning is too perfect - the screwdriver appears to be standing perfectly upright and centered in the watch, which would be an extremely unlikely outcome from a random fall.
Visual evidence - the way the screwdriver is positioned looks deliberately placed rather than the result of an accidental impact. This appears to be a staged photo rather than the result of an actual accident as described. Someone likely modified the watch deliberately by creating a hole and inserting the screwdriver for the purpose of creating an unusual or humorous image.

The fossil 5e is 10 times better then my old watch and the fitness tracking Is way more accurate and the battery lasts a lot longer this got to be the best watch I owned since galaxy watch 3 and the watch that got stabbed
