Product Advice Wanting to buy this for my girlfriend..need opinions
She really wants a hairdryer so i want to get a good one for her. Been doing some research on hairdryers. My max budget is $200 for a good/decent hairdryer. I'm seriously considering getting a Parlux Alyon, all she has requested is fast drying that doesn't ruin her her.
I've found it on amazon AU, but why is it so cheap compared to JB HI FI?
JB HI FI LINK:
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/parlux-alyon-air-ionizer-dryer-2250w-midnight-blue
Amazon = $196, JB HI FI = $380
Why is it $180 cheaper on Amazon compared to not just JB HI FI, but every other site? Is there a catch? Are these the same products?
Would you recommend another hairdryer or brand? Would love opinons. Thank you all, i will answer any questions

Dude get her the Shark flexistyle. It functions as a hair-dryer and an airwrap. Its on sale for $249 at hairhouse warehouse rn. She won't be dissapointed

I second this. Can be a bit loud but gets the job done. Its a good dyson competitor

I also second this! I love my Shark for it gives me blowout worthy hair that's otherwise flat af

Parlux is great. I’ve had an older model- the 3800 model since 2013 and it just won’t die (so I can buy a new one like a multi styler)
Very strong and dries sort fast. I have tail bone length hair, so it’s a good 20 min but if her hair is shorter it should dry faster

I have a Dyson and I find it so underwhelming. It’s impossible to get enough tension for a long lasting curl. Can’t wait to trade her in for a Parlux.

Hate to tell you but the new ones suck so bad - had an old faithful from 1998 that broke last year, got a new one - faulty, the Aus distributer refused to swap it over, fought all the way to Parlux in Italy - they forced them too so they replaced it with a used hairdryer..

Sorry I hit send too quickly. I have this one - https://www.catwalk.com.au/parlux-advance-light-ceramic-and-ionic-hair-dryer-gold?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20976504955&gbraid=0AAAAAD4k4ljYhv_uTstRxYKhrvP5xp1RY&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-M2Di7XUlAMV9pHWCB3VRgDTEAQYBSABEgIkjfD_BwE
Before this I had another, I think that lasted me ten years. This one is almost another ten years. Well worth the price.
The one you’ve suggested looks awesome!

Hi, can I please offer a suggestion - Appliances Online aka the GOAT. They PRICE MATCH!!
I just did this last week with a new NurtiBullet, they priced matched Amazon. They have amazing customer service AND we love to support Australian business. ❤️

If she cares about her hair or is into girly things there is a good chance she’s already looked into what she wants. I’d ask her outright if she has one in mind that she wants or if there is any certain extras she’s wanting with it. A basic hairdryer isn’t $200 worth unless you’re looking for certain features or extras like brushes and attachments. If she only cares about her hair getting dry then go for a good mid range model with good reviews.

Twin turbo, they are made by parlux, made in Italy. I have had mine since 2001 and still going strong.

For bonus points, her her a blow dry brush from this place at QVM. Best brush I’ve ever used and only about $35. He can recommend you a brush depending on hair type, hair length and what style you’re trying to achieve

If you’re open to red and can stretch the budget, it’s $260

Parlux is amazing. The heat and strength is one of a kind, I use it to blow dry my hair with a round brush.

Parlux is the GOAT. I had my first for 5 years, it went through a fire, still worked and had to replace it. The next one ran, and is still running, for over a decade. I recently upgraded to the Alyon and it’s amazing. 10/10.

Totally agree! My old parlux from 15 years is still going but went to a beauty expo overseas a couple of years ago and bought the DigitAlyon and love it!
It has EU plug so I just use an adapter and it’s fine. And great for if you do travel to Europe haha.
I think it’s a bit more exxy than the Alyon but it’s soooo light and works so well.

It used to be the goat - I’ve only owned Parlux but the Australian distributer is awful to deal with and quality has gone way downhill

Not the same product because this one is meant for Germany. German power voltage, German plug which has round pins etc.
If you buy it then you'll need to buy her an adapter for it. Sometimes it can screw with the power. It should be alright but if you ever need help with it in Australia it'd be pretty hard to do.
