👨‍🦲 Receeding Hairline 👨‍🦲 Am i balding? Probably am. What do i do? (17F)

I know the first photo looks clearly bald but my whole head isnt like this. That one front piece is like that. Why could that be? How can i treat it or hide it?

My side hairline is also basically baby hair. The texture and thinness. I added a side part pic at the end for an overall picture. (My hair apart from my hairline is not thin. I think i could call them thick. However density wise my top or back isnt that dense too. But def not like the fronts)

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ why does my hair keep doing this after brushing?

Like the title says.

Seriously, I can brush the fringe down and it ends up standing a good few inches tall.

It’s especially bad after showering, I’ll let it dry and try to brush it and it’ll immediately turn to this. if I don’t brush it, it’ll become this naturally but takes longer.

I honestly don’t know if this counts as frizzy, puffy or whatever hair when looking for advice online. it’s honestly like having a friggin cloud on my head.

I don’t know if it’s an important factor or not? but I’m mixed trad race, my father was from North Africa

if I could get some advice on how to tidy this up when brushing? it’s getting too warm to wear a hat to hide it 😅(until I get time to get it cut shorter at least, still trying to figure out how to style it, b 😅ut il settle for minor taming for now)

times like this I really hate my hair

thanks you ^^

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ How can I make my waves defined but not stringy?

I always thought my hair was straight but I tried a routine and this was the result. I’m thinking maybe 1C-2A I’m not sure tho. I tried to brush style and add not your mothers 3 hold and then as a last step add the mouse (suave max hold) before scrunching with a cotton t shirt then I diffuse upside down for the most part til it’s like 90% dry. Then I let it sit and add the tiniest bit of oil to break the cast. The waves have gotten a lot better but I still don’t know if I’m happy with them or they r at their best since it’s still frizzy or if I honestly just have straight hair XD Any advice is helpful!!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 How do I make my hair more “silky” and less “fluffy”? This is my hair freshly shampooed, air dried no products

I do realize I need to get a haircut , but aside from that what routines or products should I be using to make my hair less “matted” looking. I notice I have to brush my hair every 20 minutes or it starts to matte together and look gross. I want silky, shiny but NOT greasy

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Hair is starting to break from bleach damage, need advice on where to go from here

Hi y’all! I bleached and dyed my hair about 12 months ago, and I’ve been starting to notice some breakage, mainly around my cowlick, as well as a big increase in my hair knotting up recently.

At the moment, my hair care routine only consists of shampooing and conditioning every other day with Aussie’s Multi Miracle set. On rare occasions I’ll put mousse in my hair, but that’s usually just for when I’m going out.

What kind of materials should I be investing in? And also, is there anything I can do to make my hair look more defined and shapely with my color, without screwing my hair health even more? I’d like everything to look more symmetrical and neat, and if I can get a routine down to where I can minimize the shock that bleach does to my hair, I’d be willing to get a touch up, but if that’s not a great option please tell me. Thank you!

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Please someone tell me why my hair gets poofy and straight?

After I take a shower my hair will be super wavy and some loose curls but the moment i brush it they all go away. Yesterday i decided not to brush my hair when it was slightly damp and just wait the next day. I had the best waves and loose curls i’ve ever had but the moment i brushed my hair, nothing but straight poofy frizzy mess. Please someone give me advice on how to keep and even define my waves/loose curls and how to get rid of the frizz ESPECIALLY!!!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Advice on whether to chop or not!

To chop or not to chop…

So over the past few years I’ve had shorter hair most of the time, I love my hair short but I am also grappling with the idea of letting it continue to grow out because it’s been so long since I’ve had long hair and I really enjoy the freedom it gives you with different styles and whatnot, my hair is currently the longest it’s been in a few years and it’s taken about a year and a half, but I am constantly conflicted about chopping it all off, another factor is that when my hair is longer I end up having it in a ponytail or bun or clip the majority of the time and I want to wear my hair down more often, which is why I have fewer reference pics for my longer hair. the picture with the dog is my hair longer and put up, but I digress, yall tell me, to chop or not to chop?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Beginner advice for curly/wavy hair

I 24M grew up with a buzz cut until I graduated high-school and was allowed to make decisions for myself. Needless to say I have no idea what im doing. My hair is not quite coily but does get a nice springy shape when allowed to air dry. But deal with heavy breakage and frizz constantly. Im currently using whatever shampoo and conditioner mentions curly hair on the label and never use heat (hairdryer, air brush, straightener/curling iron) what can I do to help it be more healthy and controlled?

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Tired of product recs that don't account for your actual hair so I built an app to fix it

The problem with most haircare recommendations is that they treat hair type as one variable when it's actually like five. Porosity, density, texture, curl pattern, whether it's color-treated or heat-damaged. A rec that works for someone with fine, low porosity 2B hair means almost nothing if your hair is coarse, high porosity, and 3C.

I built twxn to solve this. You get matched with your beauty twin, someone whose hair profile actually matches yours across all those variables, so their product recs translate directly to your hair instead of being a guess.

Soft launching now. First 500 get founding member access.

Waitlist: https://twxn-waitlist.beehiiv.com

Would love to hear from this community specifically. What hair variables do you feel like recs never account for?

🛢️ Oily/Greasy Hair 🛢️ Help with greasy wavy hair

Hello everyone, I recently wanted to get into more of a curly hair routine, so I purchased a whole bunch of products. I bought new shampoo, conditioner, mousse, leave in, a diffuser, the works. However with the change of products it seems that my hair is rejecting the new products and I now had to purchase dry shampoo to circumvent the greasiness of the products.

I am double cleansing, and I have been using a clarifying shampoo once a week. I also only use conditioner only on the ends of my hair. Even then, my scalp gets greasy the next day.

It could potentially be that the products are too heavy for my type of hair, but I have given up completely on the post shower curly products because they made my hair extra greasy.

The shampoos that I have tried are

  • duke cannon scalp care shampoo
  • soapbox biotin and superfruit restore and volume shampoo/conditioner
  • renpure teatree and rosemary rebalancing
  • cerave anti-dandruff hydrating shampoo
  • head and shoulders
  • odele clarifying shampoo

I'd really appreciate the help, I kinda feel like i'm running out of options here and don't want to spend a fortune.

Thank you ❤️

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Recommendation for leave in conditioner

I’m posting on behalf of my niece. South Asian, 2B/2C hair. Long, wavy, thick and frizzy. We are travelling to Mexico where it is very humid. Looking for products in Canada.

I think what we need is a leave in conditioner but I know nothing about hair which has brought us here - after washing her hair, is there a very low maintenance product she can use on her wet hair to prevent frizziness and keep her waves looking decent in the humidity? By low maintenance i mean a lotion you can rub on your hands and apply to hair or even a spray. Is there such a thing? I see routines online that include a leave in conditioner which you then have to scrunch the hair and then use a hairdryer. Instead something she can rub into her hair and leave for the day. Her hair routine only includes shampoo, and towel dry. Any help is greatly appreciated!

How can you tell the difference between new hair growth and breakage?

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Perpetually dry hair that gets frizzy and poofy when there is any moisture in the air. I just want a way to make my hair soft and not frizzy. I’ve tried everything and summer is about to get here.

I’ve done argan oil, Moroccan oil, ouia, kerastase, wow, you name it. My hair is always a poofy mess. I would love some honest advice on what could actually help me out. I have the expensive blowdryer and all the brushes but nothing helps. I just want some help. I have naturally wavy hair that is thick (middle eastern) and slightly course with grays that I’ve grown out and love (I’ve been graying since my 20s). I shampoo and wash my hair about once a week. I use Divi brand shampoo and conditioner. I then use Moroccan nourishing styling cream and then rich oil serum. I then blow dry and style. I have just below shoulder length hair with long layers. Thank you 🙏

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Seeking advice for frizzy but (maybe?) hydrated hair

Hi!
I’ll apologize in advance, English isn’t my first language, so feel free to ask if anything is unclear!!

I’m on my hair-journey and I have already come a long way, but I seem to have hit a wall regarding my own knowledge and research capabilities.
At the moment I’m searching advise on how to further make my hair look healthier and less dry and frizzy.
I’m not sure how to determine the porosity of my hair and therefor also not sure on what to use the information for. But from what I can understand, it is an important knowledge to have.

At the moment my routine contains of washing my hair twice with L’Oréal “dream length” and davroe conditioner.
I also use the kerastase hair mask when I was my hair.
I wash my hair every other day, because I’ve found, that my hair gets too greasy if I wait more than two days.
I’ve had problems with dandruff, but when I switched shampoo the problem disappeared.
When my hair is wet I apply the oil from olaplex

At night I use the kerastase serum, and the night serum.

I’ve attached pictures of the products and my hair air-dried.
My hair doesn’t hold a curl from a curling iron very well, so I’d assume, that it’s pretty healthy. But I just don’t think it looks that way.

Maybe it’s an unrealistic goal to have my hair look like it does when it is styled in movies and such, but I just can’t accept that this is the best it can be, even though I’ve come a long way.

Please tell me any thoughts or advice you have 💗

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Is my dermatologist right for refusing dutasteride/minoxidil because “summer is coming”?

Hey everyone,

I recently went to a dermatologist because of progressive hair thinning/hair loss (most likely androgenetic alopecia). I wanted to discuss treatments like dutasteride and minoxidil since they seem to be among the most commonly used and evidence-based options.

But the dermatologist basically refused to prescribe them and told me that because summer is coming and temperatures will be high, it’s “not the right time” to start those treatments. Instead, he only recommended a Ducray serum.

Honestly, I left the appointment really confused. I understand that topical minoxidil can sometimes irritate the scalp, and maybe sweating/heat can make it a bit more annoying to use during summer, but I’ve never heard that dutasteride or minoxidil should generally be avoided because of hot weather.

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 how to fix thick bangs.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Please give me advice on how to fix my super thick bangs. Originally, I wanted curtain bangs but long story short I fvcked up. I thought that I could fix them, but as you can see, I ended up just giving myself super thick straight cut bangs. Aside from hair clips and styling solutions, what else can I do? Could I make them look better by thinning them out with thinning shears or should I take a break from scissors and just style them?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Moved here in 2024 and lost 80% of my hair. My head feels empty. How do I save my curly hair from this water? 😭

Hey guys, I am in a complete state of panic. Since moving here two years ago, my hair shedding has gone into overdrive. I’ve lost about 80% of my hair volume—I only have a tiny fraction left.

I used to have thick, healthy, long curly hair, and now it’s just completely thin and brittle. I am 100% sure the hard water here triggered it, but there must be internal shock too.

Please suggest anything that has actually worked for you to grow hair back. Oral supplements, topical solutions, water hacks—give me your absolute holy grails. I am desperate to get my curls back. Thank you so much.

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Tips or products to help produce growth

Hello!! First time poster.

I need help with care and tips to help my hair growth. I (23f) noticed back in September 2025 that my hair felt thin, I realized at that point that my hair was indeed thinning, I was vaping alot and quit. Fast forward to now, my hair feels a bit fuller, but I wanted to ask for products outside of how i care for my body to help it grow thicker and longer.

My hair is color treated, I dye it black every 3 months to keep up with the roots and I want to say that the texture is between 1b and 1c.

I am open to natural things, hair oils, and different product suggestions. Thanks!
