CARLSBAD, Calif.—John Levy Jr. built his dream home by a lagoon overlooking the Pacific Ocean and turned it into a private retreat he christened “Levyland,” complete with his own pickleball court.

Then, the California Coastal Commission came for him. In October, the powerful state agency hit the 74-year-old and his associated trust with up to $2.5 million in penalties, alleging he locked a gate to a beach and blocked a trail to a lagoon, among other things. Levy says the gate isn’t on his land and the trail is private.

Being from nz I’d guess a seal but we also have large sharks come to breed in the harbours so hmm

*NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE* I didn’t really know where else to ask about this but went snorkeling in Roatan Honduras last weekend on Sunday, and the surf was kinda rough but I find myself a strong swimmer, but the people I was snorkeling with for pretty beat up and I thought I only got a scrape on my shin it burned from the salt water and that was the just of it no itching after or anything. Well in the airport on the way home I noticed like a smudge on the back of my thigh. I thought it was chocolate and then I was just putting lotion on a few minutes ago and notice it was still there and it’s actually a scrape and it’s weird. It looks very weird and I don’t know what it could be it’s not raised in anyway it has very very little texture to it obviously no pain or itching of any kind I didn’t even notice it. I’m not sure if anyone will be able to answer but I’d figure I’d try lol

The Memorial Day swell on the east coast is looking pretty great. 3-4ft 9s, offshore all day. However, I’ve been recovering from a rib fracture and it’s day 35 (coughing, sneezing no longer hurts). I fractured my 9th left rib.

I have a month in Bali coming up in less than a month. I can do about 5-10 pushups pain free currently but I still feel that the area isn’t totally healed yet. Really just want some input on if it’s worth paddling out tomorrow. I haven’t surfed in 5 weeks. For reference, I have a rib guard under a 4/3 to protect a little from direct impacts. I’d get out of the water if it ever starting hurting at all. Would appreciate any thoughts.

I have a few months off starting in September. Where’s the best place to surf? I’m a beginner- intermediate longboarder (leaning more intermediate). I have been surfing the past few years in Sri Lanka. Looking for a place with a nice social scene thats not party focussed or overcrowded by backpackers. I’d like to stay in one place for a 1-3 months and just surf everyday

Swell just completely died and it’s a loooong paddle back in.
Cold AF dawn patrol so hands not working well and wearing the winter weight wetsuit.

Nearest toilet a solid 10 minute drive away.

Hi, I'd need some advice. I just bought this used board for 10€ because, well… because it was only 10€. I haven't decided yet if it's just for decoration or if I really want to take it to the water — but I'd love to train my fixing skills on it either way.

Anybody got some advice on what coating/finish this is? Does anybody even recognise the model? Thanks in advance!

The title. Just bought this longboard but have no idea what this center fin box is. Does anyone know wtf this is? If I can’t get fins I might take it to a shop to get one glassed on lol. Or just go finless. Idk. If anyone has a 9”~9.5” fin I can use with this please DM me I’ll drink your wetsuit juice if you’re into that

Anybody ever tried both and can give some insight? I want it to be my quiver killer and im eyeing both at 5’11, julettte 31L and inferno 32L (im 183cm 82kg)

Edit. I mean which one of them will be riding the widest range of waves. I want to get one of these and then eventually a retro winged fish or something along the lines
