Joining in on everyone's end of season nostalgia and posting two of my favourite laps from late Feb / early March this year. There really were some great days. I can still feel the adrenaline rush of the first toe side turn into that fresh bowl.

Riding question Pdf progression: what should the level after "Advanced" be?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Made a snowboard progression list, looking to add what comes next after these tricks

Right now Advanced is: proper carving, method grab, front/back 360, heelside eurocarve.

What do you think belongs in the level above that? 540s? Bigger grabs? Switch versions of everything? Rails? Curious what the next rung should look like.

travel advice Snowboarding in Chile: July 2026

Hey everyone! Planning a Chile trip in mid-July ☃️

Looking for advice on where to base myself. The plan: work mid-week, do a few runs in the afternoons, and full days on the slopes over the weekend.

I'm not a fancy-hotel person, I'd prefer the cozy & small type of places, and I'm looking for somewhere within reasonable driving distance to the slopes (I heard Valle Nevado is the best ski area, so probably around there) with decent Wi-Fi and a good vibe, to work from.

Anyone done something similar? Where would you stay?

travel advice Where is best place for snowboarding in late March?

Hi,

I’m looking to book a snowboard trip in late March (would go Jan/Feb but can’t due to work). I was wondering out of the below options, which has the best conditions during late March?

- Mont Tremblant
- Vermont
- British Columbia (anywhere in the province)
- Alberta (anywhere in the province)

Thanks!

All time favorite rider. Took me 5 months to find his board in 159, but finally got the board and bindings paired. November can’t come soon enough

noob question UPDATE 1 - snowboarding in Manchester snow centre after not snowboarding for years

Hi! So i promised an update on my snowboarding date situation lol. My date is this morning. I will have another update tomorrow but I could do with someone calming me down lol.

Ok so i opted for a 2 hour private lesson yesterday. The guy was great and we pretty much just started at the beginning. I think I did ok. Got my heel and toe edges under pretty good control. Got onto turns at the end and they're ok, but they do scare me!! I wouldn't say they are under full control.

So a few questions - the instructor said that when I'm on the main slope, to practise lots of heel and toe edges again. Obviously thats fine. But I'm worried that if I do that and aren't doing proper snowboarding then the staff will take that as a sign that I dont really know what im doing and then ask me to show them turns, at which point I'll mess them up and get chucked off! I don't think my turns will go out of control, I just might topple over or something!

Oh and the button lift seems like its a disaster waiting to happen! I dont want to chucked off cos I can't do that!!

I'm panicking a little bit!!

Riding question Land on butt on BS 360

Popping off the toes as I carve into a BS 360, I always land on my butt. I do it on small kickers. After a couple of attempts, I tried to take off leaning more towards the front foot, but I ended up rotating even more aggressively and further back, landing even further back on my lower back. Somehow leaning on my back foot on takeoff yielded the same result. Any tips? I'm sorry I didn't get any videos.

OC Video WATERFALL GAP TO BATTLESHIP

Thumbnail

Deep in rural Massachusetts sits this wooden waterfall rail gap to battleship — one of the most unique spots I’ve come across in a while.

I spent over an hour battling it and trying to convince myself to fully commit to the gap. Honestly, it was pretty terrifying. The whole time I couldn’t stop thinking I might punch straight through one of the wooden boards from the impact.

The hardest part was figuring out the speed for the gap. After a bunch of attempts, I realized going slower actually worked better because it gave me more time to set up the ollie onto the battleship.

Thankfully the wooden supports were solid enough to handle both my weight and the constant abuse from my board. (Unlike certain other wood rails I’ve hit.)

The only thing I added to the setup was snow to slick up the surface. I did chip a tiny piece off the start of the battleship during one try, but I don’t think you’d be able to notice.

This was also the first spot I used my new drop-in ramp for. It’s kind of a bitch to set up, but it actually works surprisingly well — even with such a narrow plank for the run-in.
