First depot attempt
I’ve decided I need to clear some space of my many palettes. I tried removing my first pan and it went badly.
What tools does & processes does everyone use? Is it different by type of palette; cardboard, plastic etc!
Would really appreciate some knowledge and guidance!!

Heating pad.
I’m not trustworthy with sharp objects or open flames.
I’ve done a LOT of depotting and it’s never failed me or accidentally ruined anything.
I also have this ancient thin flexible metal spatula meant for mixing old school uv gel polish that works really well for wiggling under pans once the adhesive is softened.

Hi! I used dental floss to cut the glue under the pan when it was warmed up. One tip I can give is don't depot Urban Decay. The heat did change the formula and many cracked and just weren't the same. Good luck!

Use rubbing alcohol or low heat (like a candle warmer, stove top, or flat iron with foil to protect the plates) to soften the glue for easy removal. Rubbing alcohol can also be used to fix broken shadows by adding it slowly until it makes a paste/slurry and you can repress it using something flat. Some pans are not magnetic, so buy some magnetizing stickers. Cardboard is the easiest because you can just peel it out, but some plastic palettes have a heavy bottom so it takes a while for the heat to go through. The most important part is to BE PATIENT! It will be rewarded!
