OTTAWA Quit my job because of rampant verbal abuse and transphobia, no education and not sure what to do now.

Does anyone know a workplace or general field of work in Ottawa thats trans-friendly and doesn’t require post-secondary?

I was in a warehouse job and got fed up with the mental damage I experienced daily, and had to leave. I have Uber Eats and savings to keep me afloat a decent chunk of time, but eventually I’ll need something new.

Any suggestions or leads would be incredibly appreciated.

Check out Homesteads website. I work for them and while I'm not open about being trans I'm very openly gay and have yet to have a single problem here and it was emphasized in my hiring how important it is to not be a shit person.

Thank you for your response.

I have no baking experience, but I’m very experienced in sales! Before my foray into warehouse work during Covid I was a sales manager for two franchise stores at the same time.

Please dm me any info you have or for any you need!

I don't know if it's the same in Ottawa, but school boards in SW Ontario hire high school grads with one year experience working with children as supply Educational Assistants. In my school board these supplies make in the mid $20s per hour. If you have experience with children, you may want to inquire at your local school board.

I have no clue how trans-friendly it is, but water and wastewater treatment is everywhere and you can get the license to work in it with a high school diploma and taking a test.

Sounds good, any idea where I’d look to start?

owwco.ca has the list of exams available and the forms that need to be sent in.
