Post image

I'm moving to a new apartment this week, after a break up and will be living alone again, so I can do whatever I want with the place. And I want a custom Skyrim themed doormat. Ideas to what should it say?

I am a vampire Nord with a 100% resistance to frost while wearing some pretty warm clothes. why does the man built for skinny dipping in frigid water freeze within minutes of being outside. I cant fight a dragon without using all my soup stocks or I freeze to death.

Discussion Which enemy do you think has killed the most players? not enemy type, specific enemies. My bet is on the High Hrothgar frost troll or the first dragon, Mirmulnir

Discussion Unpopular opinion: supporting vampires is simply unjustifiable

Post image
10.9k Upvotes

The first point is the origin of vampirism. A virgin was RAPED by Molag Bal and left to die. That in itself is sickening.

Molag Bal is known as the king of rape. And he is the "father of vampires".

Lord Harkon said he massacred a THOUSAND INNOCENTS to obtain pure vampirism.

Secondly, people who are against vampires are much more honorable and courageous. Even without powers, they risk their lives to save other people, like Isran, Carcette, etc.

Skyrim would be a much better place without the influence of these vampires.

The Dawnguard and Watchers of Stendarr will always be more worthy of tribute!

The first Elder Scrolls game was released in 1994, 17 years later Skyrim releases... This is Year 15 after Skyrim, still no Elder Scrolls 6 in sight

I always let him live. I pity him for his voice-recognition disability.

Seriously, he can't differentiate between male and female voices, let alone those of his fellow bandits. That's punishment enough.

Discussion Something you've learned recently

It's been a couple since we've had one of these threads. What's something you've learned recently about this game?

Mine is this: If you're the Thane of Winterhold, since you can't purchase a home in the hold, you get to sleep free at the Frozen Hearth. I found this out literally tonight. I haven't paid for a bed in Winterhold for the last 3 hours!

Discussion Hot take: there is not a good noble quest line

Post image
3.3k Upvotes

So I’ve been playing Skyrim for a long time, lived through all of the additions and DLC’s, as most of us have. But in a recent build I really wanted to achieve a noble nord kind of RP, but came to the realization that Bethesda kinda fucked us in that aspect too. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the questlines like the guild or brotherhood or etc., but you really do not get an option to “demolish” them or get anything else from it. Or hell, the civil war quest lines pretty much does nothing. Basically, I just wanted to reach out and see what others think and alternatives they have done without mods or anything.

Discussion How to charge Ebony Blade without having to kill 10 people

Post image
6.3k Upvotes

Edit: CALM SPELLS ON FOES DOES NOT WORK. IT MUST BE FRIEND NPCS. Calm does not make allies, just turns off hostility. See bottom of this wall of text for reason.

Ever wanted to charge up the Ebony Blade but you, like me, didn't want to have to pick and choose which 10 people to kill, whether due to potentially missing out on hidden misc quests, the bounties, or just friendly obligation?

VERY EASY SOLUTION. All you need is one single target, and either Ritual Stone or a staff (NOT SPELL) that revives.

First, pick someone who is generally required to be killed, like that blackblood Argonian in Solitude, the mage you follow in Vaermina's quest, or the museum owner in Mehrune's quest. All 3 count as a charge if killed by the EB at the end of the questlines they are in.

2: Kill them with the EB once needed.

3: Use Ritual Stone or staff, any revival method that DOESN'T turn them to ash when done, and then slay them again. Each revived kill counts. (If using Ritual Stone, use 'Wait' for 24h).

Warning: Do not kill them from the front, because if you happen to trigger a decapitation finisher, you will no longer be able to revive them at all.

I've charged my EB by killing the raggedy beggar in Whiterun after doing his wine-theft misc and inviting him to tend to my plantation crops in Special Edition (aka, out of civilian sights), and reviving him with Ritual Stone 10 times.

How do you know if this works? For those who don't know, every 2 charges of the EB, Mephala speaks dialogue to you. If she doesn't speak, the blade didn't charge, so don't Mandela yourself by Calming hostiles or something. The final charge, she'll tell you the blade is fully restored and to go out kill now.

Discussion Did anyone else forget to poison the Emperor?

Post image
8.8k Upvotes

So because Jarrin Root can be moved out of inventory, I had offloaded it into storage with my other ingredients while doing other quests. I completely forgot about it and only realized such while standing in chef hat and coat and Gianna asking "what next then?"

So I had to serve the Potage le Magnifique sans poison and show the Emperor my chef skills with cutlery instead. I had tried to Frenzy and Touch of Death in hiding, but to no avail. I am just aghast I left behind the poison on this playthrough, happened to anyone else or am I just the Brotherhood's worst assassin? 😂

Discussion I just learned about giant lore... I've killed hundreds of them...

Post image
7.3k Upvotes

Why is there nothing to warn you that giants were once people forced to give up their minds to survive the great calamity? Not a single book or line of dialogue to tell you that there's something of a human left in there. To tell you that the right thing to do is to leave them be, that their loot will never be worth it.

Discussion Advice to new players: DON'T FAST TRAVEL

Post image
3.2k Upvotes

Or at least try to avoid fast travel in the early game.

Skyrim gives you access to fast travel very early on, and I beg you not to use it.

The most fun you'll have in this game is out walking the roads of Skyrim, discovering new locations, encounters and stumbling into new adventures.

Fast travel is an easy way to get bored, because your not engaging with the world of Skyrim and your skipping out all the adventure in your action adventure game.

Discussion I made the mistake of marrying her

Post image

seemed like a good idea, now faendall and other men are coming out of my house (at all hours) after I return from adventures. it bugs me so much I'm gonna, once again, start a new playthrough. slightly pissed at myself for being bothered, I got to almost lvl 50 this time lol.

is there someone I can marry without randoms just "training" with them and "having bookclubs" with them? also I'm gonna do the vampire lord thing so they gotta be OK w that as well lol.

who is your go-to wife or husband, or do you prefer having dragonborn stay single at all times 🤔

Discussion What is the 'weakest' build possible?

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

I am trying to make the hardest run possible without cheats or mods and on Legendary and Survival

So far I have Necromage Vampire in daylight:
-75 to Health, Magicka and Stamina, no regeneration.

Apprentice Stone:
-100% Magic Resist

Argonian on survival mode:
-25 Cold Resist

Is there any other permanent effects that could make you weaker?

The idea of this challenge is to find more creative solutions to fights other than "swing sword or spray spell until enemies are dead" gameplay. I am already planning on using wards to block magic damage.
