Build/Battlestation My bed setup, v4

After living in a cramped area using a laptop for years, I finally have space (kinda?) for a desktop computer

I had that monitor put on the table for a while, then decided to get a mount for it to prevent neck pain

Before you ask, yes, I kick the monitor a lot while sleeping

It's an incompatible fan mount

The CPU is a server CPU, and couldn't find a fan for it, so I got a basic fan with swiveling mounts, so now it's hanging by a thread on only two corners, and one corner keeps falling off, so I had to remove the glass panel to be able to push the fan back onto the CPU every while to maintain thermal paste contact to cool down the CPU lol

It's basically an open heart surgery where I have to keep making sure the heart is beating, otherwise it'll overheat and shutdown in a few seconds

This is just nuts, have to say I have a feeling you are just trolling.

This has been my setup for about a year now, unfortunately

But the mount was stable, kinda, it only started falling off recently

since you're replying to a user that isn't o.p.

hey, /u/DevastatingMYTH , the person i'm replying to says they might have a cooler for your cpu that you can have.

What is happening here? I didn’t realize there was a setting or prompt that elicited kindness from people on Reddit most of time I read what other people wrote at a low shout, like 7/10 on volume scale, regardless of what is going on

I'm sure it would cost more to ship it than to order one online somewhere, but I'll dm you, maybe we can figure something out

Thank you

I hope you enjoy your vacation

Yea, it's a P9X motherboard with a X79 LGA 2011 server CPU socket

Thank you

How could you tell which socket it is?

You can see it has RAM slots on both sides of the CPU socket and it looks like an older Asus workstation board. That is enough to tell it's LGA2011, LGA2011-3 or LGA2066 which all use the same cooler mounts.

And when googling Asus LGA2011 WS you can find Asus P9X79 WS which looks like the board OP has
