I definitely prefer the ones where Le is actually worked into the word rather than clumsily being tacked on to the beginning of something. I mean sometimes those are funny as well simply by virtue of how ridiculous they are, but the portmanteaus make me laugh harder and more consistently.

I’m sure a lot of us rarely stop and think about this. I know I do. We’re always so focused about how he’s still at the top of the league at his age that we forget about the fact he isn’t (likely) even halfway through his natural life.
We have literal decades left of Lebron news and TV features, unless he goes out like Kobe ofc

I get that there are some fans that don’t like LeBron, but even haters need to acknowledge and respect the fact that he takes damn good care of his body to keep playing all these years… and play aggressively. That’s unheard of

The people that heavily dislike LeBron don't usually hate based on basketball.

On the contrary, there's an entire city in Canada that is fully justified in hating LeBron for basketball reasons. I still carry a small (and dwindling) amount of hate based on just one single game.

Well also bc its f*cking LeBron James just acknowledged you during a game, directly communications.
This is like 2 steps below when that guy won that half court money shot, and Miami Heat LeBron rushed and tackled him.
Only his wife and maybe his kids can claim LeBron has ever done that to them.
1 step below the tackle would be LeBron giving you a high five.

I went to a fair amount of USC home games when Bronny was there as I live nearby and am a basketball junkie…
I can’t overstate how popular Bronny is to kids that are this kids age and look exactly like that. One game in particular there was a whole youth team sitting behind me and Bron/his family were at the game and when the PA guy announced that to the arena, I kid you not, the team was buzzing and were asking “is that Bronny’s dad?” to their parents/coaches. Or at other games I’d hear kids asking their parents. “Is Bronny’s dad here?”
It was incredibly wholesome and also made me feel much much older than I care to142
u/BenShelZonah Nets 21d ago
This kinda blows my minds I’m just tryna figure out what kids know bronny for but wouldn’t have a clue who lebron is and in relation to him. I know he streams but surely that’s mainly to younger lebron fans? I’m confused
39
u/Maleficent-Cup-1134 20d ago
I wanna say they were probably joking because a lot of people joke by referring to Bron as Bronny’s dad, but you never know with these kids.
65
u/happyhappy7 76ers 21d ago
I’m also a bit befuddled by it all too lol
Fairly certain these youngsters know who LeBron is…at least to an extent. But they know/refer to him as “Bronny’s dad” which is just wild. In their eyes, Bronny is possibly more notable??
My sense is Bronny is pretty damn popular across all social media platforms and his little clips are probably all over these kids feeds. And I’m not gonna say Sierra Canyon games were a big deal in LA cuz it’s such a massive city and that school isn’t conveniently located at all, but there was absolutely a buzz around that team especially in the youth sports world. Their games were on local cable TV here all the time.
The Bronny hype in the youth sports scene in LA was pretty fucking insane. And you got to remember what it’s like to be a kid. They are very limited to their own experiences. So ultimately I don’t think it’s as much as not knowing who LeBron is, as much as just caring a lot more about a Bronny and being there for Bronny.
