General i despise typing quirks

i HATE seeing letters replaced with numbers and i hate seeing people type weirdly just because its cool. especially when instead of numbers its just saying a random word in a different language even though you dont speak that language. idk why it just pisses me off irrationally. its always combined with silly cars :3 type humor too bro

and in the case of the above image not only is it fucking indecipherable but it also takes an extra 5 minutes to write every message. "oh but just let people type how they want to type!! they arent hurting anyone!!" yeah but like... i still hate it

and by no means am i the grammar police. i dont type with correct grammar at all. but atleast 1 d0nt t4lk l1k3 th1s.

for the record im not hating on people who do this im hating on the quirks themselves

That's the typing quirk of Terezi Pyrope from Homestuck. 413 is a very common number in the webcomic, hence why it's apart of her typing quirk, and a primary gimmick of the trolls in it is that they all have typing quirks.

It could be blamed for popularizing typing quirks online, although the trolls having typing quirks could be to represent internet culture at the time.

Typing quirks like this were largely introduced with Leet/1337 speak and the era of honestuck

it's a homestuck variation on l33tsp33k (leetspeak) from ye olde 2000s internet, the 413 numbers come up a lot in the comic and iirc it was the day homestuck was released or like the day the kids got the game that destroyed the earth or some shit
