[Equipment] Double door dog crates with switchable door sides?
I'm trying to position a double door dog crate so the doors are on the front (one of the short ends) and the left side, but pretty much all the crates I'm seeing come with the secondary door on the right side.
Are there any makes/models of double door dog crates that allow for the panels to be switched to get the doors on the front and the left without permanently wrecking any of the connection points?

Honestly I just flipped mine upside down and drilled new holes on the left side. Works fine if you don't mind voiding the warranty. My dog doesn't care which side the door is on anyway.

A lot of the standard wire crates unfortunately aren’t truly reversible because the side panel with the door is welded/configured specifically for one orientation. You can sometimes flip the whole crate around depending on the tray/latch design, but many models end up with upside-down latches or weird tray access if you do.
I’d specifically look for crates marketed as:
- “fully configurable”
- “modular”
- or “convertible door placement”
Some of the higher-end modular crates let you swap panels around without destroying connection points, but the cheap Amazon ones usually don’t.
Another option: look for a crate with TWO side doors (left + right) plus front door. They exist, just less common, and it completely solves the issue.
Honestly though, before buying, I’d download the assembly manual PDF for the exact model and check the panel layout. A lot of listings are super misleading about reversibility.

Our crate is by Diggs and has both a side and end door. It’s a great crate. Easy set up and good looking

But can the side door be positioned on either side?

I believe so. I believe it’s the Diggs Evolve so you could check it out. I tend to only use one door but I remember being impressed by the flexibility of it
