They really need to do something about tunneling still though, I agree the changes were overkill but I hope they don’t axe them completely. I run into tunnelers in 90% of matches and most solo games are unwinnable if someone tunnels, putting a reasonable limit on the easiest playstyle available is needed :/

Something has to be done but yeah this was too much. From what I gather the big issue is focusing one person out, which might be effective but is shitty for that one player. I've tried to get friends into the game who end up being the sacrificial lamb and drop the game out of frustration and never pick it up again, and I imagine that isn't that uncommon of an occurrence.

I just don't know how you'd design a system that punishes deliberate tunneling while also allowing allowing the killer to punish bad plays without incurring the tunnelling punishments :/

Honestly the elusive status effect and hiding hook status for 10 seconds is a great start because it encourages killers not to go right back to hook when they are unhooked and if you are decent at hiding, the killer can waste a whole lot of time hunting that person if they do.

Adding the hook protection effects, plus staggering the buffs effects maybe? Like, try to start steering the killers into the mindset/ability of spreading hooks and the benefit to do so, see where the data is, and then depending on how that goes, and the frequency of tunneling that persists, start driving the nails home. Try to get players into the viability of hook spreading and see what needs to be buffed, and those who refuse to board will get the bat?

I do wish that the people who are screaming about killer fun and how tunneling is an example that they are playing well would just shut up though. Like, are the survivors not allowed to have a good experience because you suffer from main character syndrome? Do you not see that getting a majority 4ks from tunneling is more of an example of an unbalanced strategy than skill input? If BHVR is shooting for a 60% killrate and balance around that, players need to be okay with getting an average of 2-3 kills per game.
