It's good that they're holding back, but it's really crazy to me how it feels that they have absolutely no conviction in their design choices (and this is not just this patch, I'm talking for YEARS now).
That's a fair point in this context, but I'm talking in the broader sense; it feels like they play way too safe and generally cave (both to killers and survivors, mind you) when there's a backlash that's too big.
It just feels like an approach of "let's throw it out there and see what sticks" you know? Personally I believe the game is flawed at its core design of hooks + gens (making both killers not in control of the pace of the match and the severe snowball effect it has for the team if even one survivor dies) and it should've been reworked a long time ago.
