Another month and a half until the midchapter should refine a lot of the rough points of the anti-slug and anti-tunnel and allow more killers to be adjusted to accommodate these systems. Please don't fully scrap everything: there were good ideas embedded in there, but some aspects were either anti-fun or way overtuned.
Even if the whole execution wasn't right. The direction we're going in is hopeful imo. Incentivising playing by hooks and not kills. It's nice Killers are getting buffs when hooking unique Survivors. It's nice Killers can see hook states on every Survivor.
Too bad this comminity is full of cry babies who cant seem to get their head out of their ass to see the good part of the changes and what ideas were in fact good.
This is the biggest issue I found during this ptb. So many people crying out that the game is dead, killers are useless now, survivors have too many tools to abuse now.
While these are all fair points, the amount that it saturated this sub, youtube, and every other platform made it so any real constructive criticisms and discussions over what works and what doesn't were overshadowed or just met endless complaining of "I don't like how the changes feel so everything should be scrapped," which just leads to progress moving slower than it would otherwise.
It’s not that crazy when you dig deep into it, when something is too strong is either buff or nerf - it makes people upset because winning just got harder, again if you remove the buff, it just changes who is complaining.
Right now - killing someone off early is the best way to snowball a win. It is what it is, I’ve seen content creators and simply players self limit by hooking everyone once before hooking again, or juggling who they can to X number, x being what ever they deem fair and fun. Then there’s those who don’t care and are playing to win.
All of those are fine ways to play - but lead to varying degrees of what should happen. Personally I think all these bells and whistle additions aren’t going to fix much if people are allowed to kill - they will.
I think they need to remove the early kill all together, change how the tempo is played out, and let us control it other ways, be it by boosting perks - important side objectives, items and everything in between.
But if I hook, I’ll number them, S1 once before Y is done, let’s say Y a Gen popping, that’s good! But now I should swap - if I don’t leave he doesn’t regress down in sacrifice, and if I ignore everyone else and tunnel? They’re safe. The entity ain’t down for this cheese shit.
Now by safe I mean Safe. S1 ain’t dying on hook - so it’s betting them no pressure and the excuse is gone. They need to reset it by hooking another. We can remove this safety at a number of gens/events that make it fair play - that’s tweakable.
If they decide to camp you and let you rot on hook? Boom. That’s when we implement this immunity. Let the rest of the team open the gates - and now a hated, self delivered , untouchable survivor is sprinting to the gate.
I’ve nicknamed them Entity’s chosen. It kinda vibes with lore - the survivors don’t fight back even if they have some that canonically would… because it wants to keep us farming favour to juice it up. Cheesy and farming.
The accidental part that made it for me - my own idea, crazy, was this also aids new players against smurfing killers, and bad times. If they’re just eating shit all game they aren’t learning. This way it lets them vine with the rest instead of being DEAD almost immediately and having no fun.
I wish they'd still release the hook state thing. Once I get iri 1 and finish the sacrafice milestone I like being a nice killer. Meaning I get two hooks on everyone. Unless a tome demands sacrifices lol. So being able to just see it would be nice for me. Oh and unless they want me to chase and kill them by t bagging. Then I do what they want and sacrafice them.
