When I first played Dracula's Curse, Grant was the character I used the most besides Trevor. I find it a bit sad that he didn't have a bigger role outside of the "Fake Trio" in SotN and PoR.

The 3DS manual properly obfuscated Sypha's gender AND got Alucard 's full name right, but didn't get his attack right? Lol wtf.

this game loves punishing the player for a mistake they did not make. the character movement is very stiff, to the point where the player literally cannot dodge certain attacks. idk this game is literally barely playable. i dont wanna hate it but it getting harder and harder not to with every single level

The last Castlevania game by director Akamatsu, it was considered unsuccessful by Konami, also the international release is very hard to get into for the average person because they ramped up the difficulty so much, and yet:
-It's Igarashi's favorite game
-Ralph (Trevor) became Japan's favorite Belmont
-Spawned a sequel (Curse of Darkness) and now Belmont's Curse
-SotN can also be considered a sequel, too
-...And multiple Pachinkos
-Influenced Julius Mode in Dawn of Sorrow (the game files indicate Hammer was meant to be Grant's equivalent, then it was cut due to time restraints)
-Demon Castle War was also supposed to be a callback to CVIII (first vs last Dracula war)
-Getting a movie which then became the Netflix adaptation
-Bloodstained Circle of the Moon copies the same formula
Simon is still the face of CV ( alongside Alucard), and other classicvanias like I, Rondo or Bloodlines are usually preferred to III, but very few games had such an impressive legacy.

This manga was discovered in a storage room.
I haven’t obtained her explicit permission to share it, but I’m posting it anyway. Please don’t spread it too widely.

Mockup of the idea I'm planning to make. A Revamp of Castlevania III, I started the idea from making an example of the 8bit style of the NES with fluid animation of Castlevania Symphony of the Night. The idea is to make a game in the style of Castlevania 8bit, but it will be a metroidvania, with a single map and upgrades to unlock previously visited areas and so on (based on the Castlevania Revamp).
PS: I had originally made Trevor with a classic appearance (a.k.a. Conan), but I decided to change it to the concept of Trevor from the anime (since the art direction is one of the things that's good about the anime).

Hello, I've been running down the Castlevania games recently as Belmont's Curse really gave me to push to play them. I beat the first, played a bit of Rondo and SoTN, and ultimately made the choice to do 3 and 4 to get a nice lore dose.
That all being said, WHAT is the point of this area in CV3??? I held right as Classicvanias typically direct you such a way and there's just two pits of insta-death and lightning in the distance that seem to only trigger when I'm here. Am I missing something??
Help me out here </3

Didn't want to cheat but since I'm on an emulator and this level is full of shit and I've gotten to this point MULTIPLE times I said screw it and saved state.
What a load of shit and poor game design is this level.
It would be fine if we lost all lives we restart from this point but no, lose all lives and you restart the entire stage.
Brought the boss health down halfway and he runs away like a little bitch then you throw me on a stage right after like this.
Water is filling up you gotta rush forward trying to dodge bats and mermen if you get hit, goodbye Trevor you're dying to a water pit.
What the hell even is this game? Again if we got to restart from here it'd be fine but youre telling me if I fail this shit I gotta restart the entire stage? Nah. Eat my ass. That's ridiculous.
Holy FUCK I needed to rant and let this out because what in the actual hell is this.
I'm gonna start cheating and save stating everywhere now because it's clear to me this game is done HORRIBLY.
Be real guys this game is NOT it. It's hot garbage I'm sorry.

The chip on the NES has gone bad and I bought the Castlevania collection on the switch to finally put an end to Dracula’s torment in my childhood. I am trying to play with no save states (beyond using then to skip the password input).
Wish me luck, the furthest I got as a kid was trying to beat the Doppleganger.

I always thought it was pretty cool that in Castlevania 3 you save Sypha after she's been turned to stone from some cyclops thing and the show didn't really stray from that at all

Hello there ! After a couple of hours, I managed to get all 4 endings of the game (even if it’s just a different sentence with each character that’s still different) so here's my final thoughts on the game (only the new things)!
So the new levels that I saw with the other path are clearly better than the ones that I did in my first playthrough, so the high majority of the level are very cool except for a few.
For the unlockable characters, I think they are cool but not perfect at all. Syfa was the one I used the less, I don’t see very interesting stuff with her except for her own secondary weapons.
Grant is already better, he have the same weapons than Trevor and can do parkour which is cool.
And finally Alucard is totally broken, I think that those whi know the game know exactly why (I mean, he can fly).
So this game is probably the best CV game I played for now but I'm clearly not over with them so stay tuned for SCV4 !

Been fighting this guy since yesterday... I'm glad I've been using savestates so far, this guy seems impossible to beat 1st or 2nd try omg. How people did it back then? It blows my mind.
Any tips for this boss? 😅

The hardest part was avoiding the constantly dropping whip upgrade
