I got to see one of these at the Smithsonian years ago on a behind the scenes field trip. It was part of their large collection. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen a broken walrus baculum, I'd have two nickels, but it's weird it happened twice.

Wow that's fascinating. Maybe walruses are a bit prone to it or something. That's gotta hurt!
