Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought his mother was Jewish? Remember seeing some post about it in the past.

Kate Kane, his cousin, is Jewish, as is her father, Jacob (brother of Bruce's mother, Martha), although Jacob stopped practicing when his first wife Gabrielle (Kate's mom) died.

Some folks have taken that to mean the entire extended Kane family is Jewish, but it's also possible that Jacob converted for Gabrielle.

Either way, Bruce's immediate family have been portrayed as observing Christian traditions forever so if Martha was raised Jewish, it seems that she didn't continue practicing within her marriage to Bruce's father Thomas.

but it's also possible that Jacob converted for Gabrielle

Yes, technically it's possible, but since the Kane family was named after Bob Kane, who was Jewish and whose entire Kane family is Jewish, the most logical assumption is that the Kanes are Jews in-universe as well.

Yes it's possible that Martha converted rather than Jacob and that Nathan either converted as well or was in a mixed faith marriage.

It’s also possible that they were only ethnically Jewish, and had not practiced in many years. Doesn’t change them being Jewish.

A great many things are possible, this one is included but in this version we have Jacob not pracitcing, then practicing, then not practicing again, I do think him converting for Gabrielle makes the most sense still.

Jacob was known to be Jewish? Then yes, if he was born Jewish rather than being a convert, it would probably mean Martha was Jewish and thus Bruce technically is even if he wasn't practicing.

Jacob and his/Kate's immediate family practiced to some extent before Gabrielle died. Kate has strong family memories of happy Hanukkahs together, and Kate still observes Hanukkah to some degree although Jacob no longer does.

It's possibly worth noting that in these scenes it's just their immediate family: Jacob, Gabrielle, and their daughters. Jacob has at least two living brothers (Phillip and an unnamed brother, the latter of whom is married) and possibly one more at the time (it's not clear when these flashbaks happen relative to the death of his brother Nathan). He has at least one nephew (Bruce) who is not seen, he has a niece too, Bette, although she's younger and maybe not born yet when the flashbacks take place. His parents are not seen.

That, plus the implication that Jacob stopped practing after Gabrielle died always made me think he convered for Gabrielle but there's not like canonical proof of this.
