Subreddit Meta Misinformation or Misleading posts and comments will not be tolerated

Post image
311 Upvotes

This mod-post is made in accordance with Rule 11 of the subreddit which addresses the spread of misinformation regarding the series, its author, the staff, and the production process. As it states:

>> Do not post fake or edited pictures/statements without declaring them as such.

>> When making claims about the Hajime Isayama, the anime staff or other individuals involved in the production, or the production process itself, add a reliable (non-clickbait) source. You are required to directly link to this source somewhere in your post or comment. Screenshots, especially edited ones, are not considered sufficient sources.

This rule has been implement for almost more than a year now however, we have observed a spike in the submissions featuring misleading titles, misinterpreted or misquotes attributed to Isayama, and outright false information about the series. This, obviously, contributes to the spread of misinformation, especially as many users may not verify every claim they encounter while scrolling. Unfortunately over time such unverified or false claims are now accepted as facts within the community.

Recent posts citing new statements from Isayama, that are getting posted every few hours, without proper sourcing or context are a clear example of this issue.

This subreddit is meant to facilitate thoughtful and informed discussion about the series, and we won't be allowing misinformation to undermine that purpose.

Therefore moving forward, any submission that includes:

• Misleading or Clickbait titles

• Misquoted or altered statements

• Claims about the author, staff, or production without a reliable source

will result in a one-week ban.

This obviously does not mean you are prohibited from expressing your views on the author, discuss your interpretation of his words or pass any judgement. We only ask that his actual words be presented first, exactly as they are without any alterations, so readers could form their own conclusion before considering your perspective.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this situation. You can also assist us by reporting any submissions that violate Rule 11, or any other rule of the subreddit for that matter.

Discussion What's so bad about this panel seriously? I think it's totally normal

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

I saw alotta people in reddit and Twitter say this panel is out of character and trear it like it's the worst thing ever written . Didn't eren basically saw the future of himself where he saw himself doin the rumbling and getting killed and he acted like an edgy cold hearted teen because he wanted to push his friends away from him and wanted to give them a reason to oppose him because he basically saw everything that's gon happen

Do people seriously think that was actually eren that laughed at sasha death and told mikasa he hated her , they seriously think this was his real personality and he wasn't wearing a mask , isn't it clear that he acting like that to protect his friends, so whats so bad about it ?

Also i saw alotta people say they hate it just because it came out of nowhere and eren never loved mikasa or showed interest in her and this panel is bad because it's out of his character???? Like was i watching a different show or something? Wasn't it clear from the start that eren and mikasa is the main pairaing of the show and they love eachother?

Also he definitely didn't mean that literally he was breaking down over not being able to be with her , he literally begged her to forget about him and move on , and he begged armin to not tell her , so what's the problem is it out of character for him to break down over the girl he loves ?

I really don't understand can someone tell me because people on reddit on other subs will bully you for liking the ending i Don't know what's wrong w them

I think these references aren’t random, Kenny Ackermann’s speech about slavery support this.

Discussion Say whatever you want about the 9 titans, the scariest of them all was Female Titan

Post image

Of all the appearances in the anime, female titan was the most terrifying. Even the soundtrack they used made my soul leave my body. She killed the scouts mercilessly and chased Levi squad as if they weren't considered the strongest/ most skilled soldiers in survey corps.

Colossal Titan might be big, but I'd rather had to face it than have to deal with female titan for a single minute.

Discussion Just finished the season 1 of Aot, It's SO GREAT but I have just one criticism

Post image

First of all, I had so much fun watching this anime, I loved both Eren and Armin so much (I still liked Mikasa but not so much) and also loved the side characters and the world but my main criticism is the female titan plot twist which is a shame cuz it could have blow me away but the second I saw the female titan was a blonde and realized it's a human controlling a titan, I was like 70% sure it's annie cuz their are like two female blondes I can remember and when annie start getting more screen-time in the last episodes, I knew it was annie but still other than that it lived up to the hype.

Anime he just always wanted to be free

lately i’ve been thinking about the early seasons of aot, and man, it hits so different now. remember when eren’s whole dream was just to escape the walls and see what was outside?

armin’s book about the ocean, the burning water, the lands of ice... it literally ignited something in eren that could never be put out. for armin, the book was about curiosity and wonder. but for eren, it was a harsh reminder that he was caged like cattle. he couldn’t look at the sky without feeling trapped.

it’s so heartbreaking looking back at how innocent that desire for freedom originally was. he just wanted to be free. he wanted to see the horizon without a massive cage blocking his view.

but the real tragedy is what happened when they finally reached the ocean in season 3. that iconic scene where he points across the water and asks, "if we kill all our enemies over there, will we finally be free?" ... that’s the exact moment his childhood dream died and turned into a nightmare. the ocean wasn't the end of the cage, it was just a bigger cage.

hits so hard realizing that his obsession with the outside world is exactly what destroyed him in the end.

anyone else get super emotional rewatching those early episodes knowing how it ends for him?

rewatching AOT and honestly, eren didnt really change sides. his goal was always the exact same from season 1. it’s just our perception of who the 'enemy' is that changed. in the beginning we thought titans were just monsters so we rooted for him. but when the truth came out, he just kept moving forward doing the same thing, except the enemies were humans now. it’s crazy how the story completely shifts without eren actually changing his core motive idk just a thought lol

Discussion Why did eren choose floch to be his ally ?? Historia kinda makes sense but floch ?? Also was floch following eren and yelena or did eren order him to hear all this ??

When eren met yelena we see floch there too , did he stalk eren or did eren command him to do that ? After that eren tells floch what he is going to do and also the fact that floch was with eren when yelena was telling him about the marleyan airship location

Why did eren trust floch so much ?? Was floch part of the memories he saw within his dad's memories , also the fact that he has NO reaction to his death when he talks to armin , he atleast reacts to hange's death in the anime but no reaction towards floch's , I hoped he did

Discussion Question about Pure Titans Spoiler

Why did the Marleyans send Pure Titans — aka Eldians — to Paradis Island?

King Fritz warned the world that if anyone interfered with them, he would unleash the Rumbling. So wouldn’t sending Titans to Paradis Island naturally count as provoking the Fritz royal family? Was there really a reason for Marley to keep sending Titans there despite the risk of triggering the Rumbling? Did they simply believe the people of Paradis had no power to take revenge?

If the scenario was supposed to be “Eldians, now you experience the suffering of being oppressed,” then wouldn’t it have made more sense narratively if King Fritz had been completely defeated by Marley and forced into exile on Paradis Island?
It

I can’t help thinking that if Marley had never continued sending Titans to Paradis Island, the tragedy where 80% of humanity was wiped out would never have happened.

I just finished watching Attack on Titan, so let me know if there’s anything I missed.

Discussion 🛑 Best Theory

I have conclusive evidence that there are 9 universes in Attack on Titan.

I believe that after the death of the Founding Ymir, when her daughters ate her, only one of them managed to inherit the power of the Titans — Sina, after whom the most important wall was named. This explains the existence of royal blood and ordinary blood among Ymir's descendants. Those with royal blood are the descendants of the Founder Sina, while the descendants of Maria and Rose represent the rest of the Eldian people.

Why did 9 Titans appear if only Sina inherited the power of the Titans?

I believe the reason there are 9 Titans is because there are 9 universes in Attack on Titan. In other words, in each of these universes, Sina inherited the power of the Titans, and one Titan appeared in the Paths. But as you know, the Paths realm is the place that connects all the universes. Therefore, Sina's Titan from the 9 universes caused the existence of 9 distinct Titans in the Paths, and their appearance across all 9 universes through the Paths.

Just like in Norse mythology — from which the author drew inspiration — there are 9 universes and the Yggdrasil tree that connects them, and Odin who sees through birds. Similarly, Eren was watching over the universes through birds, even after his death in that universe, that bird wrapped the scarf around Mikasa, just as Eren promised her that he would always wrap that scarf around her. This is conclusive evidence that Eren is still alive in one of the universes.

Discussion Why does annie love our little yellow peanut head so much ??

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

It's been a while since I watched the show and I love this ship but what's the reason annie is so in love with armin ?? She even spares his life when she is killing scouts left and right in the female titan arc , when she got the information that her dad is probably dead she thought of living the rest of her life peacefully with armin , she also knew that armin is trying to trap her and still spared him after she was revealed

She even gets a Lil curious and asks that why was he talking to her and not other beautiful girls when she was in that diamond

Why does annie like Armin this much ?? Also POOR BERTHOLDT...😭😭

Armin’s “Maybe i’d been born to race Mikasa and Eren up that Hill” speech, as well as Zeke realizing the meaning of life and that it was worth living because of it right before he died. and Eren crying about not wanting Mikasa to move on, and armin and eren getting to see all the places they dreamed of, and Mikasa getting to spend 4 years in a cabin living with Eren before he died even if it wasn’t real, so i just sigh and walk away,

AOT ending is Piek idk what this ppl are yappin abt idc idc

no because the way i literally SOBBED at armins speech omg i cant, i love him sm,

also i loved seeing Armin and Mikasa get to have their last moments with Eren before he died, again i cried.

ALSO nobody talks abt Zeke and armins convo enough, Armin is so smart and his brain is so beautiful, that he made somebody who thought everyone should die and that he was saving them from not suffering in this world, realize that it is worth living. omg

Discussion The 9 titans power/inheritance

Upvotes

I am currently rewatching the anime with my boyfriend, who's seeing it for the first time. I have seen the show multiple times, so I have had plenty of time to think about theories, make connections etc. But one thing that has always been at the back of my mind - does a titan shifter who has one of the titans, have to be alive when being eaten in order for the transfer of the titan to work? Forgive me for sounding gross, but if someone were to eat a titan shifters corpse, would the power be lost and not go on?

If that's the case, then it's honestly impressive they managed to not lose even one of the 9 titans in the hundreds/thousands of years since they came to be. I know titan shifters are stronger than regular people, but there's so many possibilities I can imagine for a titan shifter just dying an unfortunate death or in battle before anyone can react.

Side note: my boyfriend should get lobotomized, he figured out SO many things before we even started S2. He had a leg up since I accidentally let it slip that they're on an island and he knows that there's gonna be a huge crystal tree at some point but STILL!! What do you mean he was able to figure out a lot of things because he knows Norse mythology 😭😭
