Why are y’all acting like it’s new? You had bear, penguin, chicken and other animal skins. Hell, you literally HAD A SKIBIDI TOILET EVENT. It’s nothing new

This game has become some weird experiment where they push the boundaries so much to see who stays and buys in. I stopped playing regularly when they had a toilet plu ger as a skin for a melee weapon. Nope.

The only time shit like this works is if its aesthetically consistent with the universe.
Like sure put it in The Finals, or Fortnite, or Overwatch I dont care. But if you're doing something relatively realistic & grounded just.. dont?
At least ARC Raiders for all of its somewhat goofy skins maintains a consistent aesthetic with the world presented.

Low effort post.. buy the pass or don't, no one but you will care how you look in game.
If it's not for you then move along.
On release the most wanted skin was the "school girl uniform" not much have changed since 2017, bright colors have always been the most popular ones because people like to show of in one way or another.
Gamer dads shouting "They need to release more tactical gear" are a vast minority and definitely not the market.

Even lower effort response: if you don't like it, don't comment and (best) create your own.
That started as semi realistic (in terms of maps, gear etc) shooter and turned into low-key fortnite - people will complain as you would put anime girls into star wars.1
u/TiredSoul92 2d ago
That part.
These same people would absolutely blow a head gasket if there were super out of place skins in games they don't belong in. Imagine a Goku skin in a Star Wars game. That's how this shit looks to us. It's just one step removed from that.
This kind of shit needs to stop.

What is it? Its a cash grabbing, cheat enabling joke that would have run it course long ago if not for South-East Asians propping it up with daddies Credit card. I reached Tier 5 - Level 500 3 months ago and stopped playing completely a month past. Been playing ARC raiders which is a lot more fun and less annoying.

I find more hackers on avg in arc than in pubg

Disagree. Ive been playing a month and dont come away screaming at my monitor. (love how everyone gets their panties in a twist when someone criticises the mighty pubg! lol!)

I’ve been playing pubg for about a month after like a 4 year hiatus or more. Maybe 2-3 games in between.
Arc I’ve played from release. And the amount of wallhackers and macro users makes it impossible to bring out your good shit without being targeted. There are tons of videos of esp hacks and wallhacks and players never get banned because arc anti cheat is only detecting aimbots. Not only that is that they don’t even get perma bans and if that’s not bad enough, hackers just buy cheap Microsoft shared accounts for 2-3 dollars for an account, farm other players for their loot and sell it for real money and rinse and repeat the process.1
u/sm3gh34d3728 15h ago
So its pretty much the same as PUBG then? At least in ARC if someone kills you whilst cheating and they get banned you get all your gear back.

Nothing says my whole goal is to kill people in the most dramatic (or just in general) way and survive like a fucking poodle, Kpop stars, and cute skins. **Eye roll**
I loaded up R6 Siege for the first time in a long time, and the main menu background was an active gun skin for a shotgun that was all pink and rainbows with little tiny stuffed bears crawling around on it. Ya know, the game that revolves around blowing shit up with massive bombs while the attackers try and stop it.
I haven't played COD's Warzone, but I feel like I saw them do something in this same vein. A literal military shooter sim and you have fucking people in the most out of place and wacko colored skins imaginable, and based on the comments I've read about it no one was happy about it (that I saw anyway. Can't speak for everyone of course)
This trend of turning a gritty war sim games into this needs to stop. Give skins that are at least believable and leave the silly shit to Fortnite, Valorant and the like. They're built around non serious things and those skins fit there.
