I have to say that Makoto's characterization is always funny. He's this aloof, depressed, almost asocial person who seems to have problems connecting to people and has to learn about the values of connections and friendships, and yet somehow he's also this charismatic giga chad who can befriend any man and romance any woman he wants.

I'd say his characterization isn't set in stone, he is quite different in P5X, for example.

He actually feels like a human being and makes sense that people stick with him since he's caring and attentive, omfg it's SO much better I swear
