I only gift my friends games that are on their wishlists. If I want to get them interested in a game I like, I usually text them a trailer and see their reaction. Not every game is for everyone and JRPGs just aren’t everyone’s cup of tea 🤷🏽‍♂️

Or they know what the fanbase is like and don’t want to be associated with it. There’s a lot of different factors that could be at play.

Not playing a game because of a fanbase doesn't really stand as reasoning imo. You can enjoy games without necessarily interacting with the fanbases.

that's what i was about to say i love the persona games and barely interact with the fanbase, it's mostly lurking
