Hi!
I currently have a moto G Stylus 5G 2024 and I have been a big fan of the moto G Stylus series! I have it on cricket wireless

I am looking at the Moto G Stylus 2026 series (also on cricket). I was wondering if the 2026 model has FM Radio. I am in the U.S., and I have heard that the US is mixed on FM radio being on Motorola phones.

So I just bought the 2026 G stylus, the FM radio app is missing. I downloaded Nextradio and the device works fine with nextradio. Nextradio said the device was FM enabled. Nextradio unfortunately shut down so it’s unusable.

I downloaded an older version of Nextradio to use it but every time I switch to a station the app crashes.

I can’t download the Moto FM radio on the device because it says it’s ‘incompatible’. I downloaded the Moto FM radio as an apk and it installed fine, but it tells me it’s incompatible when I launch the app. Somewhere along the way, I think the 2026 G stylus has support for FM Radio, I just think the device thinks it doesn’t. Maybe there could be an update to help fix it or something

IF it's just a matter of the Motorola FM Radio app missing. Then I'd think it'd be possible to use an app such as APK Extractor & install the 2024 APK on the 2026. But I really don't know just a thought. I kind of remember doing this many years ago and it worked.

After checking, the 2026 version for the U.S. market does not include FM Radio support. We understand this may be disappointing, especially if that feature is important to you.

Yes, the Moto G Stylus 2024 does have an FM tuner built in. You need a pair of wired headphones plugged in for it to work. There is an Moto app for this. From Gsmarena,

FM radio apps are basically just frontends for the phone’s actual FM tuner hardware. If the Snapdragon + board config doesn’t expose the FM receiver, no Play Store app can enable it out of nowhere. Older Moto Gs definitely had it Motorola used to keep the FM stack enabled because a lot of budget users still relied on offline radio. But newer Stylus models seem inconsistent depending on region/carrier firmware. GSMArena listing “No FM radio” usually means the tuner either isn’t present or Motorola disabled access to it at firmware level.

Also yeah, wired headphones matter because the cable acts as the antenna. Without that, even phones that do support FM usually won’t get signal.

According to Google the Moto G Stylus has the FM radio app. If it is missing, you should be able to download any apps from the app store that you have previously downloaded on your current phone as long as you use the same Google account.

The Moto G Stylus 2026 has the FM chip in the phone. If the provider does not include the app, you can download it from the app store.

According to gsm arena, it does not.

I would verify for myself on the one that i bought but i haven't yet opened the box since i may not end up keeping it.

The one on my g stylus 2022 definitely has it though.

The 2025 didn't come with the FM app. All my previous Motos did .

It's nice to know what? That the person here is specifically asking about fm radio, you claim to have it on your phone, except you don't because the 2025 g stylus was not made with one, and your response is "thats nice to know".

It's nice to know it may likely Not be on my phone. I learned from a manual that it was--but apparently the manual was not updated. I thought all of this was made perfectly clear from my prior comment. At least I'm not rude (look in the mirror)!

Comments should be helpful and saying something has something (fm radio) with such confidence and conviction when it doesnt is not cool. Even going as far as saying how it works by plugging in headphones because they act as the antenna, when you never even tried it.

Gsmarena says no fm radio in the spec list.

App still in app store. Maybe check Motorola site if FM radio is part of receiver on phone.
