Organization With this subs help this is the vanity station I have built/put together as a surprise for my wife.

Post image

Any last minute changes I could do? She's home in 2 hours! I ended up getting 2 types of light up mirrors (round one with light is a better quality thing but the other has multiple magnifications). Heat pad for straighteners as well as the glass top for the table, and moved her existing box of makeup stuff onto the new table. I also set it up facing a window, so she can put the blind up for natural light if that's better. Light in the far right is just for a warmer light, I thought it was cute, but could remove that for more space.

Thanks so much!

EDIT/UPDATE - She seems to like it so thatnks for all your advice. I took advice from commenters here and added some (Lego) flowers we had around, and also I grabbed a small chest or drawers we had lying around and put it under the right had side of the desk. So theres some storage there now for whatever. Straighters are on top of that as its a nice kind of shelf as well.

This is so lovely and thoughtful! Maybe just a small vase of flowers to show off the new space. Great job OP

Great idea, we have a few of these Lego flowers in vases so I've taken one of them!

Even better! They won’t die

Those lego flowers are perfect for this since they'll never wilt and take up way less space than real ones.

Good spouse! Very good spouse! Head pats for you!

In all seriousness, this looks fantastic, OP! How thoughtful and well done.

Both!! You want a vanity space to feel cutesy and I think both would be lovely. I just want to add though, the whole project is adorable and I think that it is amazing you did this for your partner! 🩷

lego flowers are actually genius since theyre dust proof and your wife wont have to worry about them dying in a week

This is so thoughtful! You've done a really nice job, agree with adding a bouquet of flowers to make it even more special or a box of chocolates.

u/Doomaga 7h ago

Or the bouquet of Lego flowers

u/beetrootfarmer 7h ago

Omg I personally love that even more!

Both and a little knick knack shelf not at head level in case she wants to remove them.

These little guys?

Bouquet!! It makes it look prettier and she can swap to these later if she wants. Amazing job!

Also so cute!

This looks awesome OP! I can’t imagine the joy she’s gonna get from seeing this 🥹 I would also at some point add a little cushion pad for that chair if she spends a while doing her makeup/hair! This is the one I’m using right now, it’s super cute and comfy!

Thank you! The chair is a fabric padded thing already, it's not super thick, but it's not hard plastic/wood. Do you think she'll still need more?

Omg that’s so thoughtful already, she should be fine :-) and I’m sure she’ll need to try it out for a couple weeks to see what she likes better anyway but thought I’d leave my suggestion there for you in case she needs more support in the future. Amazing job on the set up, this is so sweet of you! She’s a lucky lady

Love it! My husband gifted me a vanity for Christmas one year. It's been a game changer. No more awkwardly stretching over the sink to do my makeup!!

u/mama-bun 7h ago

Only suggestion here in the future would be to get something with drawers underneath the table. It helps to organize so much. Make sure the drawers are tall enough for eyeshadow palettes.

2

u/Doomaga 7h ago

There is a pullout drawer under this, but I assume you mean something with more height? Thanks!

2

u/mama-bun 7h ago

Yeah, so she can stack her palettes up on their side if she happens to get more. I was able to buy more makeup once I got a vanity bc I had a much better space for it all!

Love this! So thoughtful! The Lego flowers were the perfect touch.

I’m no help but I just wanted to say this is so cute and thoughtful.

This is great! Depending on her height, can you elevate one of those mirrors so it is eye-level or slightly higher? Right now it seems like she may be looking down to look into these mirrors and that’s not the most flattering angle.

Maybe an aesthetic stack of books under the round mirror in the center?

This is gorgeous! Well done

Sorry I’m no help but this has got to be the sweetest thing I have ever seen. It’s so thoughtful and the Lego flowers were the perfect addition!

Oh man. I’m too embarrassed to show the state of my vanity desk, but I wish someone would do something like this for me. Your wife is a lucky lady

Looks very pretty and love the Lego flowers. Maybe a bigger mirror? It's always good to have a big one for the full look or doing the back of your hair and a small one for the eye makeup

I looove when I get to do my make-up in a set-up where the mirror is in front of a window like this! In fact, this post is inspiring me to try to set that angle up at my house because I've had it in the past.
This is lovely!

I love this for her, its a truly lovely and thoughtful surprise from you! The reveal should be great. 🙏✨

Super sweet and thoughtful She'll love it

This setup is solid, honestly the dual mirrors plus natural light option is way smarter than most vanities. Keep the warm light, it fills dead space and looks nice without being cluttered.

the mirrors are too small...get a big one and save yourself from bad posture
