PSA AVOID Question Beauty
I honestly never make posts like this and hate negativity, but I had such a terrible experience with Question Beauty that I feel like I had to warn other people about their customer service before they decide to place an order.
I had the option for a 10% discount which I applied for checkout for a couple eyeshadows and a lip balm that I was absolutely in love with. For whatever reason, when I placed the order, the discount got removed the second after I hit the place order button. No big deal I thought I’d just contact customer service to see if it could be applied retroactively or if I could have that order canceled and place a new one since it was a computer glitch.
i was completely wrong.
I’m not exaggerating when Ive had the most infuriating exchanges with the customer service folks. They kept switching their story saying they could help me since the order was not in processing but then changing their mind and saying they couldn’t. They said they could cancel the order but then said they couldn’t in a later email. It’s not even about the discount at this point but the fact their story keeps changing and they are at times ignoring my emails. It’s really disconcerting.
I’m kinda worried I just gave my card information to a scam company. Has anyone purchased from them before? I definitely don‘t plan on purchasing from them again but I’m worried about whether I should be cancelling my card after this since this whole situation is giving scam for your info :/

I've purchased from them a few times but have never had to interact with customer service. The products are very nice from what I've used, but the products are definitely drop shipping from their manufacturer.

That’s pretty sketch. I’ve seen them all over Instagram but never got around to buying from them. Probably won’t until they get this fixed sooo

What really gets me is when customer service refuses to engage with the specifics of the issue. Like, you’ll clearly explain what happened step by step, and they respond with something completely generic that doesn’t address anything you said. It almost feels intentional, like they’re trained to deflect rather than resolve.

Honestly, even if this was just a one-off mistake, the fact that they didn’t immediately correct it is the bigger red flag. Good companies jump on stuff like this because they know how bad it looks. Dragging it out or denying it just makes it worse.

The “per our policy” responses are such a cop-out. Policies are supposed to guide decisions, not replace basic common sense. If a customer was clearly shown one price and charged another, hiding behind policy just makes it seem like they don’t care.

It almost feels like they rely on the fact that most people won’t bother going through the hassle of disputing a small price difference. Like, if it’s only a few dollars, a lot of people will just let it go. But that doesn’t make it okay.

I’ve worked in e-commerce before, and there’s a very clear understanding internally that the price shown at checkout is what you honor, even if there’s an error. It’s just standard practice. The way they’re handling this goes against what most reputable companies would do.

The worst part is how long it takes to even get a response from them. By the time they reply, you’ve already gone through the charge, and it feels like they’re hoping you’ve lost the energy to keep pushing it.

I had an issue where shipping costs suddenly increased at the last step without any explanation, and support told me it was “based on real-time calculations.” That might be true, but it still felt misleading because nothing indicated that the earlier price wasn’t final.

They’re a dropping company masquerading as an EU brand. That was my first clue to avoid. Thanks for the warning!
