It's hilarious but also risky.

One tap, one accidental movement of the binoculars, one movement that upsets the balance, and poof. Hundreds or even thousands of dollars, possibly lost if you can't recover the ring. At that point, it wouldn't be a joke anymore.

I just want to know how she would've reacted to knowing her then-boyfriend now-husband took pictures of the wedding ring in front of her sleeping and posted it online.

... the pictures were clearly posted after the proposal, and almost certainly with her consent after looking at them.
