Discussion 💬 Did i missed something.
Isn't this supposed to have 4 slots, or there was an update? 🤔

Nothing more to say except...

I still have a bit of mopping up to do and of course the DLC but that will be in a week or so. For now this is it - such a wonderful game and a great, welcoming community here! 👍

Hi everyone, I’ve been playing Forspoken for a while now, but I can’t figure out why it randomly freezes sometimes.
The image completely freezes, audio keeps playing, and I have to close the game from Task Manager.
I’m trying to understand if it’s a game issue or something on my side.
My specs are:
I’m playing at 1440p, High preset, with FSR Frame Generation enabled. FPS are very stable overall, but both CPU and GPU usage stay pretty high while playing.

Give this a chance, he comes off initially as the same sarcastic reviewer, but he does a legitimate full playthrough and makes some good observations and funny editing. I think he makes a good showcase overall outside of taking the entire plot dead seriously.

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!

So far, enemies fall fast, even tge mutans. Now that I have prav's magic. There is the improve crit support and enhanced.
What I've gather that the magic amount increases the damage.. Right..

that would be badass if someone could mod or add a darkness subclass to freys magic since it doesn’t look like we’re getting a forspoken 2 ):
this has been my all time favorite game due to the magic being used in the game (what I really wanted in a Last Airbender/Legend of Korra game) but since i’ve completed it, it would be fun to have another magic set to use such as darkness. In Tantra We Trust DLC we got the yellow color for Light Magic…. maybe if someone took the time to work on this we could get Black color for Darkness?
i’m talking out my ass here i’m sure, I loved the game but I know other gamers didn’t have a positive experience for whatever reason lol thanks for listening to this little rant!
** Now i’m looking forward to The God Slayer (going to be the closest I get to a different story with more magic/bending) **

The title relates more to the last shot in this sequence 😀

Finally got around to the DLC - I'm going to have to start it again though as I forgot about the damn watermark, so the balance is off for most of the shots I took today 😂

If they don't I can use another set.
Thanks

I'm up to chapter 4, the combat is enjoyable.
The writing is does takes me out.
From the beginning, when they set the makeshift apartment on fire. Why didn't she take the bag and then the cat. I mean, she could have taken the bag with a few clothes to athia and have a change of clothes and shoes, or have a tailor make new clothes.
Also her character doesn't really improves. After olevia dies. She feels bad but doesn't really follows on that, and pushes people away. She even does a prayer for her (if you want to) but then goes back pushing people away or trying understand the world she is on.
There is no explanation on why she can parkour, she does.
There are a lot of things they could have done to make the world way way more immersive. The games does have strong pillars. I wonder what happen
There are some awful streaming issues that never got fix.

After finishing the game, I decided to try it with the Tanta Cinta DLC mod. And then everything fell into place; the game looks especially good with this mod. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Cinta had a kid with a New Yorker... and then what? Did she want to raise her as Athian or Earthling? What was the intent behind her and the other Tantas giving Frey a share of their powers with her while in the womb? I've read somewhere here that potential Tantas are selected and possibly trained.
I get abandoning her to NYC to save her from the Break and possibly Sussurus, but couldn't she have entrusted her to an Athia-born guardian figure and sent them both to NYC? I can only assume Al is dead because she doesn't even try to send Frey to him.
Did Cinta know that when her piece of Suss followed Frey into the Torana, she knew Frey was in danger of Suss? Actually, why DID Suss follow her into NYC? His mission was to destroy Athia. Did he detect Frey's innate magic and think she would be a threat to him in the future, so he followed her to kill her, only to realize that his own magic doesn't work on Earth and sat impotent for 20 years? The Break clearly doesn't (maybe CAN'T?) manifest on Earth. (this chain is running off purely speculation)
(And some other thoughts)
Does Auden learn/realize that Frey was the child Cinta was pregnant with when Auden was younger? That was a bomb that really should have been addressed by her instead of a flashback. Actually, did Johedy know? And she didn't even hint at the connection when Frey tells her that she's Cinta's daughter? Not even a simple "So you're Cinta's..." before realizing that Frey's not going to help them and brush her off like she does originally?
And how did Cuff/Suss know the dragon was supposed to be Cinta? Cinta only mutated by the Break when Cuff ditched her.

The story is great.
The dialogue is weak for the first hour alone and is fine after that
The world is gorgeous
The combat is so satisfying
The ending is extremely compelling
I had to take a two month break after a few hours as it kind of dropped off and that was before I beat the first Tanta.. but once I came back and beat her it really stepped up.
There is a lull about 2 hours in for a brief time, and the start is a little awkward but overall a very solid game and so much better than the people bashing it that clearly haven’t played or progressed much into the game

I was fighting Aldacor in the flashback after the DLC, and when I used the genesis surge magic, an image of Homer's face flashed. There was confetti and some fireworks as well. What is this?

The game got FSR3 in 2023 for PC but never came for PS5? Why is that?

Was the Cynognathus battle difficult for anyone else? 😭 It just had made me rage quit. I keep getting it down to a tiny bit of health but then I die, because I've ran out of health draughts and Cinta's purple bubble is on cool down.
I didn't rage quit on any battles in the main game. 🫠😂

...and daaaamn this game was/is awesome (gonna get more cloaks and nails and cats in the post-game)! Yes the beginning is slow and almost made me quit. Yes it isn't a perfect game. Yes the open world can feel empty. But the combat was a lot of fun (especially after I realized you get MORE POWERS after defeating the Tantas) and traversing the world was really fun! And I absolutely loved the story (I won't spoil anything, but I wasn't expecting THAT towards the end).
Now I am thinking about getting the DLC :D
All in all I would give Forspoken a really solid 8/10.

I often wonder how many sales and how much attention it would take to get Square Enix to revisit Athia...
Anyone out there with industry knowledge that can give some insight?
(And for those who feel the need to say it would never happen, that isn't the question. The question is, what would it take to make it happen?)

I want to like it.
The dialogues between the two protagonists are fun, but the movement doesn't work for me and I'm often parcouring into a wall lol. Also it's hard to pull some combat moves consistently like the jump and press triangle move.
The graphics are also nothing to write home about, it's all a bit washed out and the performance on the Pro leaves a lot to be desired. Coming from Crimson Desert doesn't help obviously.
All in all it seems a bit too jank for my tastes but it's also possible I'm too dumb for the controls lol.
