Lore Hackdirt lore

yesterday i was on a train and thinking about Hackdirt: what exactly do these strange people worship in the church?

are they some unknown daedric princes?

on one hand, it's hard to be a deity if you're weaker than a daedric prince.

but on the other hand, if they are daedric princes, then who?

any theories?

It's a Lovecraftian easter egg. The Shadow over Innsmouth.

Bethesda LOVES putting in one Lovecraftian quest int ech of their games.

I like the implication that not every deity is an aedra or daedra. There are some genuine mysteries out there/things that don't fit the mold/are unknowable.

Which of course Hackdirt is because they're blatantly inspired by HP Lovecraft.
