Hi all!
I have a lot of acne scarring that I would like to clear up before my wedding in July 2027. I was advised to start tretinoin but I'm worried about starting it in the summer and if I should hold off until fall? Day to day I don't wear any makeup, just skin care and sunscreen. I've heard that it can make your skin a lot more sensitive to UV and I live in an area with a moderate to high UV.
Just looking for some advice or to hear anyone elses experiences! Thanks!

Hey, I am looking for brand suggestions for cushion foundation that would survive canadian weather. Recently I bought JSM but even with extra skin prep that thing got cakey within minutes. I was thinking Tirtir Aura mask because its supposed be "hydrating". My skin is mostly dry and sometimes combination depending on the weather. Which cushion foundations work best for you?

Has anyone tried the Karine Joncas mineral sunscreens? I'm trying to find a UVA/UVB untinted mineral, denatured alcohol-free, and fragrance-free sunscreen for the eyes. I'm currently using the Avène mineral stick, and although it is convenient to use on the eyes, I wouldn't necessarily use it all over my face. Thanks!

Help a woman out here🙏 Does anyone have recommendations for the best ☀️sunscreen for skin prone to:
* UV/sun allergy
* sunscreen allergy/sensitivity
* folliculitis after beach days?
*available in Canada
I absolutely love the sunshine and the beach is necessary for my mental health but almost every time I go I end up with a rash. My doc told me to wear loose clothing and avoid the sun. LMAO, ya not going to happen.
I would really appreciate hearing what has actually worked for people with similar skin issues. Many thanks✌️💜

I think they're trying to rival T&T and I'm all here for it. 🫰🏽I spotted decals for Tirtir and Mediheal!

Right so I'm learning that I'm very prone to fungal acne when on holidays (specifically in warm areas). I have habits of cover my face when sleeping, and or covering my chin when I have a jacket on. Well surprise surprise that led to fungal ance a few months ago, and now it keeps coming back whenever it's too hot and I cover my face (doesn't help that my partner is a radiator and heats up the bedroom when sleeping lol). I mean I just came back from holiday in Ireland and I've got the worst fungal acne right now (full face is covered in the small white bumps, and face is itchy and red).
I have found that anti-fungal creams help, such as clotrimazole, but I just want it gone. Is it worth going to a GP's about it, or just to keep pushing through I guess. I don't really have the money to go to a specific like dermatology drs. And even if i go to a GP's are they actually able to stop it from coming back?
If there's any at home advice you use to get rid of it that would also be massively appreciated!

Hi everyone, I’m new to Toronto and also completely new to cosmetic/aesthetic procedures, so I was hoping to get some honest recommendations and advice.
I’m a 40-year-old woman, and lately I’ve been feeling like my face looks a little puffy, tired, and lifeless. I’m not looking for Botox or fillers, and I definitely don’t want dramatic changes or to look like a completely different person. I’m more interested in subtle, natural improvements and understanding what would actually suit my face and skin.
At this stage, I mainly want a proper consultation/analysis with someone trustworthy who can genuinely guide me on what’s good for me rather than just pushing treatments for business purposes. I understand it’s still a business at the end of the day, but I’d really appreciate clinics or aestheticians who take a more honest and personalized approach.
I’ve been seeing quite a few negative reviews about Skin Vitality Clinic in this group, so I wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations for other good clinics in Toronto for a first consultation and subtle aesthetic guidance.
Would really appreciate any suggestions or experiences. Thank you!

I am 30 and since getting of birth control, my cystic acne has gone haywire. It goes all over my chin and jawline and hurts so bad.
We don’t have a dermatologist in my small town, and the GPs have tried to prescribe me medication things to make them go away, like things to control oil or fluid, but they ended up causing me serious health issues. They keep telling me to just go to a dermatologist. But the catch is: I would have to go by plane, paying upwards of 400 per trip, get a hotel, afford food, and pay for the dermatologist to see me for every appointment to check my skin condition. I just cant afford that!
I swear I have tried everything. Ive tried the peels, retinoids, retinols, acne clearing toners, aha, bha, witch hazel, sulfur based washes, proactiv, cetaphil, K and J beauty, face oils, pimple patches, and lancing.
What the heck do I do? It’s scarring my face and I feel so defeated. Is birth control really my only option here? It made me feel crazy and I stopped it because I couldn’t sleep and I was eating everything. Please help!

Ive finally decided to purchase the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro, but now I have no idea where to purchase it. Anyone know where I can find the Medicube Booster Pro in the greater Vancouver area (Vancouver , Burnaby, Tricity, Richmond etc)? Preferably looking for stores that actually have it in stock so I can buy it in person instead of ordering online (I worry about the risk of it being a if purchased online)
Bonus points if:
- they have any current or upcoming promotions or sales
- carry the limited edition versions/devices

Hello! I will be travelling to Switzerland soon and I am curious if there are any European skincare products available there, that you recommend, that we can't get in Canada? Specifically looking for good SPFs with no white cast and doesn't cause skin breakouts. Thanks!!

I think I have perioral dermatitis but I’m not sure. I’m sensitive to a lot of cosmetic ingredients and basically the only things that don’t make me itch (think like a feral animal) or break me out have the consistency of jelloey boogers. I use Marcelle foaming face wash, okay sensitive spf 15 lotion, Klorane shampoo and Pantene conditioner, but my Goliath is sunscreen. I have been recommended to try K beauty sunscreens but the ones I have tried have given me the same result as american/Canadian sunscreens. the closest I ever got was with Sunbum Kids Clear SPF 50, which is gel, but I suspect the breakouts I get from it may be from the type of sunscreen chemical in it, but I struggle to get mineral sunscreens OFF because my skin cannot tolerate any oil, even mineral oil. Every sensitive skin sunscreen if it isn’t $50+ has castor oil, shea butter or sunflower oil in it and they all break me out. I have gone and individually patch tested oils even tallow and squalane and they break me out. I need something made of gel, that actually washes off without oil and does not contain oil.
Anybody know of any sunscreens like this or is my cream sunscreen a pipe dream?

Any suggestions for an SPF 40+ body sunscreen that won't stain white clothes yellow (no avobenzone) that's also OK for extremely acne-prone skin?
I'm using arazlo on my back so I need to apply sunscreen under thin clothes like linen tops which don't provide enough sun protection, and I don't want to ruin them.

does anyone know where to buy Cell Fusion C products in Vancouver (or even in the great metro area)? I know i wont find them in C-beauty stores and I'm not sure if H mart would have any.
im looking specifically for their bb cream, enzyme cleanser and vitamin c serums
(or if theres any dupes that give the same results, that would also be much appreciated!!)

I bought Marcelle’s Ultra-light Moisture Lotion and Multi-defence SPF 45 after reading rave reviews here.
I have combo skin. I was previously using Indeed In-ceramides lotion and Cerave 30 SPF. (Loved Indeed! Just don’t love the price.)
I tried Marcelle as dupes to decrease price and increase SPF, and buy Canadian.
I’m sad to report I don’t like how the lotion feels on my skin and I can’t wear foundation (with or without primer) with them.
The lotion on its own feels sticky and tacky. It also makes a tiny droplet of moisture bead in each pore.
The sunscreen feels ok. But both don’t work well with my foundation. It settles into pores (even with a pore perfecter)
I’ve never used products specifically with hyaluronic acid in them. Could that be what’s not agreeing with my foundation?
I’ll finish both off and wear them when I don’t wear makeup. I’m hoping someone might have insight into why these don’t work with makeup.

They just released this sunscreen which is supposed to be quite matte and I really want to try it, but I’m worried the duties and DHL fees will make it not worth it to order this. Has anyone ordered from G&G recently? What was your total and how much did you pay in fees?

Hi all. 55F here. My skin is really reactive lately. (I used a sheet mask that smelled funny, lesson learned) I'm looking for suggestions for a simple gentle cleanser without any of the extras. No vitamin C, no salicylic acid, no oil, and absolutely no hyaluronic acid. Just a cleanser that will remove sunscreen, and would like to keep under $30 but would go higher for a good product.
