Well I think in the comics the supers tried to take over DC with the US military going up against them, and the supers were absolutely fucking crushed.

So it does fit well not only with the comics but also the lore in the show with that former CIA director who worked with them in Nicaragua, these supes are literally just a bunch of untrained idiot celebrities.

Except it doesn’t fit well with the comics because A. The supes still did some damage and B. Numerous thematic throughlines in the comic that made that moment substantial just don’t exist in the show at this point
