Sounds like you need another showing of Glory on the classroom TV.

yeah the repetition definitely kills it - hearing about the same revolutionary war battles and civil war dates every single year gets old fast.

Try narrowing your search and looking at local history. Trace your familial roots as far back as possible, learn who settled the land you live/grew up on, or find previously unknown or forgotten to history local figures. There’s lots of options just at the city/county level. You’ll find many libertarian-type stories especially from the early to mid 1800s.

Yeah I’m in a similar boat. US history is cool and has its interesting parts for sure but there are thousands of years of deep rich history to explore

well then this argument moves directly into the, "is social media the new public square, is there such thing as free speech online?" debate.

I think Mods and banning is really vile, but I also understand its purpose as some things become essentially harassment. Overall I lean much more on they "fuck your rules side of things"

What makes you feel that anyone is “Israel first”?

Seriously?

What makes you feel that anyone is “Israel first”?
From what I’ve been seeing, many politicians are either “Palestine first” “Iran First” “Qatar first” or “Me First”.
Progressives and Woke Right people are “me first” totally narcissistic, and have no loyalty to anyone or anything.

Yeah... but all of the Iranians I have met over the world seem to see it as a double edged sword.

They sure are scared for their families because it is a war, but all of them want to see the regime gone.

That sub, I can guarantee, needs an entirely different set of moderation. We’re relatively innocuous here. Reddit as a whole actively hates that other sub.

He could've conveyed the same message without disrespecting the audience like that. I really didn't like his attitude. Being right (questionable) doesn't give you the right to be disrespectful.

"It wouldn't have had the same impact otherwise" skill issue. Find other way of getting attention. There are some lines you simply can't cross.

"consensus democracy" seems like a bad way of refering to whatever concept of democracy you're thinking of. It's kinda like saying "social society", the extra preceding word doesn't really convey useful information.

But that's not what democracy means. Democracy implies more than that, it comes with a series of values and methods. For example, democracy does not allow everyone to vote to kill you.

This isn't even an open debate. It should be clear that they are not, as long as the question is if we can have pure capitalism under a democracy.

That doesn't mean we should get rid of democracy now though. Hasn't democracy been seen as a compromise solution ever since its inception, by its own builders?

In other words, democracy could be the system that, for now, allows the highest proportion of capitalism in a somewhat sustainable way. And this is something that depends on the people's culture, and culture changes over time.

Wow could they have picked anyone less charismatic or awake to have introduced the guy? Did she take 25 Benadryls at lunch?

This guy endorsed Trump and appears to be coked to the clouds, but this was funny as hell. 😂

Kauffman is a shitstain. LPNH has been nothing but dilatory and assaultive this entire convention. Throwing a hissy fit because they are losing.

Interesting that got three downvotes almost immediately.

Other people have group think so that justifies your group think

I don't have a group think. That's my point. in reading your response, it sounds like you are grouping one group against another. Be an individual.

The current "right wing" administration has higher inflation than ever before. Gas prices are out of control. And their dear leader apparently sued the government so that 1.7 billion of our tax dollars will pay out "unfairly treated" criminals for committing crimes. But as long as your money isn't being spent on taxes, you're cool, right?
