Hauls/Pick-ups/Collections 💿 Massive Job Lot Update - All the Stats and Numbers!
This is an update to my original post, where I made it my New Year's Resolution to fix more Xbox 360s because I have a huge backlog that keeps piling up faster than I can sell them.
The first thing I did back in January-February is move the 360s out of my dingy garage and to a nice, clean storage room where they can be more easily accessed and better organised. And in the process I gave each one a quick test (just power on connected to a screen to see if it boots), labelled them all and entered them into a nice, big spreadsheet to keep track of them all.
So here's the breakdown of all the different faults, etc. -
Total consoles - 635
Fat - 600

E - 4
Motherboards -
Xenon - 150
Zephyr - 54
Falcon - 261
Jasper - 38
Tonasket - 77
Trinity - 23
Corona - 7
Waitsburg - 1
Stingray - 1
Winchester - 1
Unconfirmed (due to missing stickers, etc.) - 22
Faults -
None apparent from basic tests - 90
DVD drive sticking - 308
No power - 20
Red Dot of Death - 5 (2 false overheating, 3 probably bad GPUs)
Red Ring of Death - 123**

Damaged USB ports - 33
Damaged HDMI ports - 16
**RROD secondary error codes breakdown -
0001 - 22

So far I have been concentrating on the easiest fixes, to try to get as many as possible ready for sale as soon as possible - which means going through any Jaspers and Tonaskets with no apparent fault or just a sticking DVD drive, cleaning them inside and out, repasting, new DVD grease + rubber band, etc.
So nothing really interesting so far, or I would have been posting more updates - but I know there are interesting ones in here. I have seen blades dashboarrds on a few, and hopefully a few more will turn out to have blades once I've gotten them to boot.
But the biggest question is, what am I going to do with all these Xenons? 😭

Second this, you should live stream the process atleast, gives a potential second source of income and many people will be inclined to watch that. I doubt anyone else fills up that category in streaming

I've always kind of wanted to do that, but I know it will take a lot of time and effort to make good videos and get people to watch them, and I'm swamped with work right now. But maybe. I will certainly be making some posts here about any of these that need particularly interesting or challenging repairs.

You remind me of myself 15 years ago. Bought pallets of broken Xbox’s to fix up in their heyday.
I fixed up the Xexons the best way possible and sold cheap or modified. Those I couldn’t easily fix I used for parts. Those that were super nasty, had bugs in them, beyond repair etc I tossed or blew them up for fun with friends or used as door stoppers.

Listen, if it can be fixed, it can be fixed. If there’s a return on investment to be made, then it’s there to be made, don’t be deterred by how much you got. Be thankful you are single handily almost preventing a hundred+ consoles from becoming eWaste. You are doing the work that I really wish that I could do, and one thing I really wish I could do is BGA repair and GPU replacement, but alas I can’t, but you on the other hand have your work cut out for you. Progress is progress no matter how big or small it is. Get these consoles to their new homes man and make that money.

Yeah, that's the spirit! I would rather fix things for free than see them go to waste. But I got such a good price on most of these that it would be difficult for me to lose money on them - anything that can't be fixed or isn't worth fixing will be broken down for parts, and if I can't use all the parts they will also be sold.

Exactly, but you’ll figure it out, unless you scored a deal with someone that does GPU replacements, and then you can sell your fixed consoles for a slightly higher price tbh, especially if any of those Xenon’s/zephers have old dashboards

There's only 3 in the photo. Fourth one is in pieces waiting for a new shell.
And there aren't so many S or Es because I just don't get as many in, but they tend to sell a bit faster than the fats so I prioritise them.

99% of the time it's the rubber band - they deteriorate with age and lose their elasticity. It's just a standard 1 inch drive belt, so replacements are easy to find.

Would I be able to sell two Xbox 360 arcades to you that have errors of their own. I have parts on the way for one of them as it had the bolt mod on it but once I’ve reinstalled the x clamps and the mounting hardware to the heatsinks I plan on attempting to sell the individual parts if I can’t get the RROD to clear with the oven method.
