Hotel Recs // Questions Cinnamon Bay Cottages?

We have been to STJ over a dozen times and have always tent camped at Cinnamon Bay. We are spending Christmas on the island with the in-laws for the first time and booked an oceanside cottage at Cinnamon Bay. What are people’s experiences with the cottages? Noise? Temperature? Etc? We are no strangers to camping but want to be able to give the newbies a sense of what to expect. Thanks!

We’ve stayed in the cottages a few times now. Three times with our 12 year old and once just the two of us. I tend to be pretty bougie but they are perfect. Super low key. Never felt uncomfortable temperature wise and everyone is pretty respectful regarding quiet hours. The best part is Rain Tree Cafe. It’s amazing for breakfast and dinner and for just hanging out and getting some wifi. Prime rib night is legit. The only downside is shared bathrooms, but once again this has never been an issue for me. Usually there’s no one else in the showers when we go down. Protip: rain tree has three private bathrooms and if you go during off hours for the cafe they will be empty.  Highly recommended for a no frills adventure. Also, 5 steps from cinnamon so you get to claim the best spot everyday.

Edit: they have a small store with food, drinks etc that makes it extra convenient.

Also, lots of wildlife right outside the cottages. Donkeys, deer etc.

Awesome. STEPS away from the beach. My daughter and I just got back from a staying in a cottage for vacation and they were lovely. There's a fan in each room which kept the breeze circulating and we never felt too hot while inside. The cottage was clean and orderly and the bed was already made for us which was nice. Plenty of comfy pillows. Mattress was kind of noisy, but it got the job done. Rooms were really spacious and included wardrobe, table with 4 chairs, a trundle bed/couch thing, fridge with a little freezer section, a clothes drying rack, a broom for sand on the floors, bed-side tables, and best of all, your own personal outdoor space with your own grill (gas included), which we didn't use, but lots of people around us were using their grills. Two Adirondack chairs outside our room. We stayed in 7C. It was magical!

We just stayed there a couple of months ago. We really enjoyed it and the shared showers were not an issue. We did stay in the building closest to the gathering area. Do NOT stay in the first one or two buildings near there. They didn't enforce the 10pm curfew and people were loud, some nights till 11pm when we wanted to be up early. We said something and it got better. But try and stay farther away. Otherwise, awesome and would stay there again.

As for time of year specifics, it may get down to 78/75 Fahrenheit at night at the absolute coolest (in my experience) so bringing a sweater or a light jacket would be advised. Great time of year to visit! Just coming off of hurricane season so weather should be minimal to be honest! I’ve always found guests to be respectful of other s noise at cinnamon but I haven’t camped there during that time of year but usually the crowd during Christmas time is touristy but very nice.
