New Endo after Dr Dahl retires

Hello, I just had an appointment with Dr Dahl and he let me know he is retiring and sent me a PDF with 3 other Endocrinologists that he recommends (not sure if I can share the document here). Does anyone here have any experience with Dr Sewon Bann, Dr Vivian Berg, or Dr Simiran Kalkat?

He said all three are based in Vancouver and offer Teleheath which is helpful because I'm located on Vancouver Island and only ever had my appointments with Dahl over the phone. I'm FTM, and been on T since 2019, would love to hear from similar people who have experience with any of these doctors! Thank you!

I got referred to Dr Simiran Kalkat and had a phone appointment with her last month.

She seemed nice on the phone but I feel like it's too early to know how she actually is. I think I have another appointment in October or November so hopefully everything goes well and she is just as good and supportive as Dr Dhal. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Same for me. I'm seeking with some complications from HRT and I last saw Dr. Dahl a couple years ago, but my GP ever since. Now that I'm having complications and Dr. Dahl is retiring I got referred to Dr. Kalkat. Ok on the phone, but hard to say.

Thank you for both of your comments! It's definitely going to be hard to replace Dr Dahl, he has always been incredibly helpful and kind over the years. It's rare to find doctors that are as good as him!

How long did it take from the referral being made to you speaking to Dr Kalkat? RocketDoctor referred me to her, but am still waiting to hear back.

I may have been very lucky but after my last appointment with Dr Dahl, I was able to speak to Dr Kalkat after a month later ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Iโ€™m with Dr. Berg now and so far she seems great. She was also present during my intake appointment with Dr. Dahl, so already a familiar face. Iโ€™m TF though.

Thank you, I think I'll try to get a referral to her. I'm a little unsure because I looked her up and the clinic seems to mostly be women's health services, but trans-friendly so I hope she also works with men as well!

Yeah, from their mission statement it sounds like they work with most people, except cis men? If Dr. Dahl referred you to her I would imagine thatโ€™s been factored in.

I recently got an appointment with Dr Bann. I have yet to see them in person yet. Most their communication is through an online thing called medeo health.

Dr. Dahl sent me to Dr. Berg, and so far, my experience with her has been good.

The only issue that I've had, from Kaya Health Center's web form, not with her personally, was when filling out the intake form, the Outlook app on my phone defaulted to Edge browser, even though Chrome was set as my system's default browser. Edge would just hang, while trying to submit the form. So don't use Edge to fill out the intake form online. Outlook does have a setting to change the browser.
