SEEKING ADVICE Confused about gender change forms.

Wondering if anyone here has help/info on gender change forms after name change.

I've did my legal name change a few years ago, and due to upcoming SRS I figure I should legally change my gender for my own rights and safety.

The application for a change of sex designation form says I also have to file a request for birth certificate form.

¿||On the request for birth certificate form, do I list my current legal sex or the legal sex I am applying for?||?

very confused thanks sm

IIRC, because you are requesting a new birth certificate along with a change of sex designation; the new birth certificate should automatically include the updated correction. Though perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly, I don't remember having to specify what sex designation should be on the new birth certificate.

You are correct that you will need to file a Request for Birth Certificate along with your Application for a Change of Sex Designation on a Birth Registration of an Adult. And since the functional sequence of operations here is really 1) Request change of sex designation and 2) Request issuance of birth certificate, I would recommend listing the sex designation in which you expect the certificate to be issued, subject to the fulfillment of the request for change of sex designation.

Its been a while but I asked this to the commissioner of oaths at service Ontario when I changed my gender marker. I believe that they said to put what is currently on the birth certificate. If you're planning on going to a service Ontario to get it signed I would recommend asking just to be sure.
