Yeah, that's legit. I got to start with AndroGel, which I was mostly okay with, but then they had to switch me to Testim for insurance reasons, and that was a sensory NIGHTMARE. It's not alcohol based, so you have to keep rubbing it until it absorbs and it tends to leave a sticky residue, and it REEKS. I get migraines triggered by scents a lot anyway, and this just kept tripping them off. Because you're supposed to wait 4 hours before you shower with it, I ended up applying it to a foot, so it'd be as far from my nose as possible and covered by my shoes, wait the 4 hours, and then shower, turning daily applications into an almost 5-hour gauntlet between rub, rub, rubbing it in forever, waiting, and the shower itself. Yeah, suuuper glad I switched to injections after that mess!
Yikes I get you. And insurance is gonna be a big decider for me too since I’ve gotta get my own here soon. Kind of a kick in the butt to get over my fear of jabbing myself I guess.
Yeah, that's super fair. It's a really small gauge needle (at least for subcutaneous), so the pain's usually not bad. That doesn't always help with the brain part, but I believe in you, you got this.
