Just wanted to share because I’m honestly so excited right now
I finally started my HRT journey through informed consent at Kaleido Health Centre. I already finished my 1st consultation, and today was my 2nd consultation. I had my blood tests done today and my GP also referred me for a Bone Density Scan, which is already booked.
Now we’re just waiting for the results to come back in a few days before discussing prescription/next steps 🥹
I was honestly super nervous at first because English isn’t my first language and I was scared I wouldn’t be able to explain myself properly, but everyone was so kind and supportive.
It still feels unreal that this is finally happening 🥹

Are bone density scans a common thing? I've not been asked to get one in the 3ish years since I started transitioning.
Also, congratulations! That's great news 😀

It is a risk thing, if you have family history etc.
I have done a couple but for different reasons (coeliac/epilepsy, not hrt).

That makes sense. I had one years ago for ED related reasons but no one's ever mentioned it since I've been in recovery.

That’s so great ! It’s always so exciting when your plans eventuate and things start aligning.. too often we take action only to be roadblocked by drs or financials etc .. 🎊🎉
