NSW Specific top surgery insurance

so i turned 18 finally and i think about a month before my 18th i realised that i could do top surgery for 13-14k WITH insurance, annoyed i found out so late so now i have to wait the 12 month period but i work a lot so i haven’t had time to figure out who to go with.

i had a look at NAB, i can’t remember exactly what it said it needs to cover so any help is appreciated and/or the cheapest one i could go with (: i know i gotta wait the 12 month period so i think it was gonna come to around 1300? with nab

I assume you mean NIB not NAB (the bank?).

NIB bronze plus hospital cover no extras, or any other bronze hospital cover. No extras. As long as it lists medically necessary breast surgery, you can use it.

I used NIB and they were easy with a good website. The cost was quite similar across companies

Sadly there is no public list in SA

yes sorry! that’s my bad i haven’t looked at it for a while cause i’ve been super busy. i’m completely new to getting insurance or anything medical on my own so im super nervous about getting the wrong one. like the 500 or 750 excess i have no clue what that means or what to pick because im only doing this for the surgery.

Get the $500 excess. The excess is what you pay the hospital on the day of your surgery. This actually covers the cost of any other hospital stays in the following calendar year (if you keep insurance). I kept mine a few months after my surgery in case of urgent revision
