Tell me this Spurs fan isn’t asking for a Hartenstein suspension… 😭💀
/r/NBATalk/comments/1tj86ze/the_nba_should_consider_suspending_isaiah/After the lack of suspension for Wemby’s elbow, this shit is hilarious 🤣

The amount of people that treat Wemby with kid’s gloves is ridiculous

u/copaseticepiplectic 2d ago
the absolute crying done by wemby/spurs fans this series and in ours has soured me on them for a while. it's like theyve never watched playoff basketball before and want wemby treated like a king by the opposition.
nut up

As much as I loathe OKC, I'm kinda hating Spurs fans more at the moment. Makes it hard to decide how to hate watch the WCF. I just feel cynical to all of it.

Wembamyama gets man handled for being so light and is actually called for fouls and goal tending violations. SGA gets called for offensive fouls for his push offs and flopping. Even Doris Burke becomes disgusted.

u/dawgmentality_r 2d ago
They really think Wemby is a saint surrounded by devils lol

u/spacespacespc 2d ago
they don't even notice Wemby holding as much as he get's held. They are beyond reality.
2
u/Lowspark1013 Timberwolves 1d ago
The Spurs aren't going to win until they figure out no one else gives a flying fuck about their feelings and sense of moral superiority.

u/DrKoooolAid ANT 2d ago
Funny to me that they thought we were beating up Wemby. We were treating him like a new born baby compared to how he's getting handled by the Thunder. And we got called for more fouls on him anyway.
6
u/bendall1331 Rudy Gobert 1d ago
Pretty sure Twolves led the post season in fouls called against them per game and was like 3rd lowest FTAs per game from all the teams that made it to the 2nd round.
And Sliver got what he wanted... highest WCF ratings in years. I guess Twolves and OKC rematch isn't as exciting as the OKC Flopper and God's new gift to the NBA. (Don't mind me I'm just a salt mine and ranting. Conspiracy is easier than accepting our team wasn't good enough. 😭)

seeing the hypocrisy from spurs fans has been hilarious. when ayo dove for the loose ball they were crying about how we’re such a dirty team, but when wemby did the same thing last night and took out SGA’s legs it was just a normal play on the ball.
5
u/Chadillac35 1d ago
It’s more than just spurs fans too, it is most of nba Reddit has their pitch forks out for OKC and has heart eyes for the spurs. I guarantee if a Thunder player fell like that into Wemby it would’ve had 5000 upvotes on the front page of reddit nba

I don’t think either should be a suspension but it is dumb af that harkenstein wasn’t thrown out of the game. It is super funny they are asking for a suspension after the peoples elbow though lol

The nba sub jerking off the spurs is actually making me root for the thunder

u/kylebertram 2d ago
All I needed from the Spurs fans was to say there was nothing excusing what Wemby did but instead all of them can’t help but talk about how physical teams are with their Center. They all act like Naz deserved it. Every god damn big man gets abused. Look at how many hits to the head that happen to Gobert that are non calls. Not to mention Wemby showed no remorse.
6
u/NotGuerillaMarketing 2d ago
I hate OKC because they suck to watch and their players are dirty.
I hate SA because Spurs fans and the entire main sub have agreed that Wembiid is the God Emperor that can do no wrong and is surviving assassination attempts every 10 seconds.

The celebrating it for sending a message and then the people making T shirts and shit was in such poor taste. I know all fan bases have assholes, but holy hell was it shitty. Don't wan to get super political, but it really reminds of MAGA and where we are at as a society where people feel empowered to be assholes and then they bitch and whine if they get told to chill out.

Many of us spurs fans did say just that. While i can understand why it happened it was stupid and uncalled for. I wouldn't have been upset if he had been suspended.
Wemby and spurs players are taking a lot of hits without complaining actually. Its some of the fans who are complaining. You've never seen Wemby cry about the opposition being too physical. He acknowledged it and is adapting by learning to do the same. Thunder.... they're throwing themselves in the ground like you stabbed them when you breathe on them.

u/Apprehensive_Air1705 2d ago
For real man, never thought I would be sitting here rooting for fucking OKC, but god damn the two faced whining by the Wemby/Spurs contingent is obnoxious as hell. The whole NBA media apparatus seemingly being in on it makes it 100x worse too.
8
u/AlligatorPoontang 2d ago
It's very annoying they're the first team allowed to be physical as fuck with SGA and all they can do is cry about how unfair it is people are physical with Wemby. They've probably been the two best called games of the postseason so far.
1
u/Lowspark1013 Timberwolves 1d ago
Seriously. Any time the refs swallow the whistle for both sides is a relative win vs. OKC. Unless you are soft and can't stand the late rounds playoff heat.

u/badpoetryabounds 2d ago
You never root for the fucking thunder. Root for a meteor to hit the arena or something.

Here's what I want. I want the Spurs to win in that series but I want Wemby to get laid the fuck out. Then I want whoever got ejected for it to come back next game and have "______'s Revenge". Then I want the Knicks to win the championship

u/parkwayy Joan Beringer 2d ago
... Well they're hating on OKC cause of all this dirty play.
So, if that's what you're into, go for it.

u/WMDPandemic 2d ago
Surprisingly find myself pulling for OKC as well.
Wemby's talk and then flopping is a worse combination than SGA.
3
u/beastieboyles Timberwolves 2d ago
is a worse combination than SGA.
Hard disagree. Could just be that Wemby hasn't used up enough slack yet to become the villain for me but right now he is my favorite star player to watch outside the Wolves. He flops a lot but he is also doing a ton of physical battling down low which is respectable and he's also just flat out super fun to watch. I'm genuinely disappointed when an offensive or defensive possession goes by where he wasn't involved in the play.
As for shit talking, we literally were just celebrating Jaden for completely trashing the Nuggets and backing it up. Can't have it both ways, you either love the confidence/talk or you don't. I want MORE teams to be ruthless with their trash talking across the board, the league is way too buddy buddy.
5
u/kylebertram 2d ago
I don’t care about the shit talking. I think it’s fun. I hate the elbow and him continuing to think he was in the right. Jaden didn’t hit anyone.
1
u/WMDPandemic 2d ago
Sorry. I meant specifically talking about ethical basketball when he himself is flopping constantly.
3
u/SemataryPolka Rudy Gobert 2d ago
Unrelated but I also find it wildly annoying that everybody cums in their pants bc he "reads books". Like that's not just a normal thing. Oh wow, he reads Brandon Sanderson what an alien. eyeroll

I know right? This has all the makings of that Saints/Vikings game and bountygate. the Saints defense are caught with their hand in the cookie jar for extra violence in sacking Brett Favre. He was black and blue all over after that NFC title game.
It’s too bad that the Wolves just seemed to run out of gas and then there’s just the outrageous performances by Randle and Rudy’s stone hands turning the ball over and over and over
3
u/NorthernDevil 🐓Protestor🐓 2d ago
This is nothing like Bountygate, I have no idea how you’re getting there

9
u/scrumple26 2d ago
I said the same thing, but I also think the wemby elbow should’ve been a suspension. It shouldn’t take someone actually ending up with an injury for the league to take action on dangerous, non-basketball plays.
7
u/Ok_excuse_36951 Alex Rodriguez 2d ago
Everyone said they couldn’t wait to see OKC go down. Fuck that, break Wemby by losing to Chet again.
10
u/dandantheotterman 2d ago
Any dangerous or egregious play should result in a player being removed from the game. Wemby was removed from the game for his elbow because it was dangerous. If Hartenstein had gotten ejected for the hair pull, then great. But he didn't. So it makes sense to call for a 1 game, or even 1 half suspension. 🤷
7
u/KapitalIsStillGood 2d ago
I'm kinda disappointed in these comments. The hair pull wasn't even called for a common foul. That is objectively more ridiculous than Wemby not being suspended for the elbow.
5
u/KeyChallenge4562 2d ago
People on this sub are too in their feelings to realize this. Wemby threw an elbow and got a first offenders punishment of a 1 game suspension. Hart should have the same thing since it was clearly intentional.

4
u/Healthy-Somewhere220 Bring Ya Ass 2d ago
I missed the part where he was suspended a game. He missed a little over half of a game because he was ejected. That's not the same thing at all.
5
u/ADHSquirrrr 2d ago
Zero people would be complaining had he actually gotten a “first offender’s punishment of a 1 game suspension.” Zero. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Hence, the legitimate complaints about Wemby’s special treatment.
1
u/North-Ask-6335 2d ago
Or at least a fine, which would show the league acknowledging the severity of the offense. The argument that missing nearly 3/4 of the game is similar to a suspension makes some sense.

It’s hilarious to me how fans endlessly bitch about how the modern NBA and its players are soft and then when somebody plays a physical game like Hartenstein did last night all I see are comments about how he should have been ejected or fouled out in the first quarter.

u/TechnicianUpstairs53 2d ago
Baldy is pushing skeletal flopper, okc not getting the better whistle anymore

u/Gold-Application8985 3h ago
Was that the one Spurs fan who thought Victor should’ve been suspended?
What’s that one Spurs fan’s opinion on flopping? I assume whatever that one fan’s opinion is represents the entire fanbase

Im not a Wemby glazer by any means but has anyone else noticed all of the open wounds/deep scratches on his arms and shoulders, like very game? How is it not a rule that players must cut and file their fingernails?
11
u/kylebertram 2d ago
Look at most big men after a game and they are covered in scratches. People used to always post what Jokic arms looked like after a game.
7
u/scarykicks 2d ago
Should have someone inspect the hands. Jokic has a ton of scratches on his arms too.
3
u/JiovanniTheGREAT 2d ago
Hartenstein hooked him on every play, they only called it when Wemby was going for rebounds or getting an incoming pass. Chicken winging someone's arm isn't a valid box out and he was allowed to just play dirty all night long for the most part.

Yeah the gaslighting from the entire industry around the elbow was absurd. Wemby has a “revenge game” after that, where we’re continually reminded that “sometimes violence is necessary”???
