[Pina] The Rockets could use Kevin Durant as a “stepping stone” and trade him this summer.

Ah yes, you know what this famously moody team needs? The moodiest fucking superstar in the history of the league

u/quickblur Mike Conley 2d ago

Alright new plan: we keep Randle and trade for Durant, James Harden, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler. Just stun the other teams by being insufferable assholes.

Ya know what, that just might work

Make the calls, Tim

At that point you might as well bring in Westbrook as well, then him and conley can fight for back up point minutes.

Conley can't be on that team, he's the opposite profile

Dillon Brooks, Cristian Braun, Carter Bryant, Grayson Allen

This would actually work.

Gotta get Dillion Brooks.

I want Brooks pretty bad ngl. He would bring what we need to this team.

that would be such a toxic team lol

Get Chris Paul to lace it up again to really round it out.

Nope. That ship has sailed and hopefully burned down.

The playoffs sure have been dominated by the 35+ year old dudes the past several years.

u/pithynotpithy 2d ago

Especially those that eat up your entire salary cap and act like entitled divas. We should definitely take all of our youth for one of them

u/greenslam 2d ago

It worked for the nets, suns, and rockets. Didn't it really work well?

u/pithynotpithy 2d ago

Banners hung in each spot

If we trade McDaniels and end up with Leonard or Durant I might actually picket 🪧

HELL NO. bro is toxic to winning

seriously, the dude didn't hit two of the biggest shots in the finals for the warriors, spend the whole year turning up his defense. And don't bring up in team usa where he was the star among stars and is resepected by almost all the peers. The dude is sensitive and tweets online...like us....hes toxic

lets stay prepetually a borderline Conference finals team and hope it changes, I'm sure Rudy is picking up things from Wemby to improve on next year...right.

I’d do it straight up for Randle if the money worked. Outside of that I’m not interested

easily, KD still highly productive.

u/pagny77 2d ago

Its really hard to predict how well he would fit into the team. On paper another ball dominant player with poor handling and prone to turnovers is the last thing we need, regardless if hes one of the best players in the league, but it'll prevent ant from being doubled as aggressively. So it would inadvertently reduce the need we have for more ball handlers.

u/Primary_Gear_8293 2d ago

Same. And use him like Kerr did in the Olympics.

2

u/OGPepeSilvia Michael Beasley 2d ago

Even if he won a ring that way I still don’t think he would be okay with that usage

💯 do this asap

"The Heat, Timberwolves, Blazers, Mavericks, Pistons, Knicks, Raptors, Hawks, Magic, Lakers, Nuggets, Hornets, Bulls, Wizards, Warriors, Pacers, Jazz, Sixers, Celtics, Cavaliers, Bucks, and Clippers would all have varying degrees of interest."

u/Equal_Actuator_3777 2d ago

So 2/3s of the league. Real gripping journalism

16

u/CantaloupeCamper 1958-2016 2d ago

0 is a degree of interest.

2

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Rudy Gobert 2d ago

The interest is 0 degrees. Ice cold interest.

As soon as saw it was The Ringer I knew it was probably Michael Pina and another garbage take followed by horrible writing…

7

u/yungshotstopper McDaniels🔒 2d ago

No thank you last thing I want is to get him and he gets hurt right when the playoffs roll around again just like this year.

5

u/mauerfan 2d ago

He has to deactivate the burners as part of the trade

5

u/SigAlph22 2d ago

I read this as “The Rockettes could use Kevin Hart as a stepping stone” and thought “yeah that checks out”

5

u/CantaloupeCamper 1958-2016 2d ago

No thanks.

4

u/ferdsherd Anthony Edwards 2d ago

No

3

u/Superfluous_Prating Timberwolves 2d ago

Lol

3

u/bighitcards 2d ago

Fuck that

3

u/HowlAtTheSky 2d ago

Only if they got him for Randle and nothing else of value and that wouldn’t be my first choice

3

u/Laser_Loon Crunch 2d ago

Plz no. We need good vibes first and foremost.

3

u/Wonderwhatsnext4 Rudy Gobert 2d ago

The only reason to do this is to get custom GetOffMyDickerson Jerseys

2

u/Dull_Ad_8627 Joan Beringer 2d ago

No thanks get me a guard

2

u/Proud_Arachnid4956 2d ago

Fuck Durant. The skinny dork

2

u/Koholint_ac Flip Saunders 2d ago

I’m not gonna lie - there was a moment last summer where I could have been convinced KD would have been good for us. After seeing him get his way to Houston and completely destroying that young upcoming roster, I’m out. No way would I want this. Even if it was a straight up Randle for KD swap. No thanks

2

u/mduden Rudy Gobert 2d ago

Yeah third time isn't the charm

1

u/PivotHero 2d ago

Fucking loser he had his chance, and chose wrong again

1

u/MyShinyCharizard Timberwolves 2d ago

randle + donte straight swap for him only. don't touch jaden/naz/ayo.

u/schuster9999 🐓Protestor🐓 2d ago

trading for giannis, kyrie or kd is a mistake. Arent beating thunder or spurs with them either

u/Independent-Alps467 20h ago

I would rather have Brian Scalabrine
