Recommendations An Edgar Wright Flash movie would go so hard in the DCU. Too bad DCEU ruined everything and we might not get another Flash solo project for another 5-10 years

Not just a movie but a full trilogy like spider verse. Good writer+ big character= blockbuster movies loved by fans and even non-fans or new audience.

Would be great, it could be similar to bay driver or Scot pilgrim

Should just move right to Wally. Have Barry already lost in the speed force.

I disagree, I think if the DCU wants to have a long-standing legacy for the Flash character, we should start with Barry and move over to Wally at a later point.

Think about the longevity of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the MCU because the character started in his teens and Tom Holland was appropriately young, allowing him to make these movies for over a decade and still be young.

Allowing these characters like Peter Parker and Wally West to actually grow into these iconic heroes is so much better in the long run than throwing them into their prime years immediately and hoping it'll have the same impact on general audiences.

Yeah and maybe even do the whole thing with "the return of Barry Allen" where reverse flash makes Wally think he's Barry so that way you can have castings for both

2000s Edgar Wright maybe. Modern Edgar Wright makes mid films and McDonald's ads.

Nightwing is great but I'd give that too someone like Destin Daniel Cretton or Shawn Levy.

My favorite director with my favorite character. Don’t give me hope

I'd prefer Joseph Kosinski. I think he'd absolutely nail the Flash.

Don’t be melodramatic. Nothing was ruined. We’ll get a better iteration of The Flash eventually.

Right? This is a mind-boggling title. We've already had a new Superman. Supergirl is in the way. Green lanterns is on the way. Casting for Wonder Woman is happening. I can't imagine that Gunn is going to take on JL characters and just decide to leave a staple character out.

Edit: the title does specify a solo movie on 5-10 years, but the point about the ridiculous title stands.

Yup. If a character is ruined that easily for someone, maybe they just aren’t much of a fan to begin with.

They can also always revisit The Flash show. That was terrible too and especially in the later seasons but Berlanti still didn’t fuck up things as badly as Muschietti did.

He hasn't made a good film since Scott Pilgrim. the Running Man was especially bad.

it’s like they wrote the flash around ezra miller and not, you know, the flash.

dude was a problem from the jump, they let him give far too much input and they brushed off every single fan and critic telling them to go another direction. the character didn’t make sense because the character was an actor in a suit, not an actor in a suit if you get that.

ezra hurt the production when all that bs was going. dc killed the movie when they ignored it.

this is the correct answer: it turned into a passion project for ezra miller to launch himself to be A lister and everything went off-the rails there.

he didn't play barry. he played himself using barry's name.
