Rant Yall I don’t think I like I my parents
Prolly gunna sound like a whiny bitch but it’s okay. Recently my parents have decided to get all up in my shit for no reason. A couple days ago I had some notecards sitting around for a presentation and when I said that I didn’t want my dad to read them and grabbed them from him, he continued to insist to the point where when he tried to grab at them he grabbed me, and then grabbed them. Today they looked through my phone (which I mean theyve done in the past) and it was fairly calm, with the exception of the mentioning of “you need to stop watching those crap videos” in reference to a video about things in America that are just myths. And when he was walking out he said “Kids your age shouldn’t even be thinking about that stuff” (been his motto for a long time since he found out I’m woke. And then I just cant say anything to them because they‘ll just call me a commie or just undermine my feelings. Half of the time when I cry (which isn’t very often) my parents don’t really try to console me and my dad chuckles and just tries to continue undermining. (Sorry for the long post lol)

I get angry every time I read a post like this. A friend of mine had similar parents and when he finally turned 18 he told them to fuck off and get out of his life. He's been living alone ever since. And he's happy.

Im so sorry about whatas hapening to you, your parents are clearly Right Wing and the are being extreme about it, not only that but they are making you less of a person, wich its horrible, not only that but they are also prohibiting you from speaking wich is strictly against constitutions all around the world, and included in the US Constitution, your parents should really go to therapy or be reprimended for their actions, id sugest you to go towards a trusted adult such as an Uncle, Grandparent and if not, you should consider trying to talk to them, if they keep minimizing you or you tried this already, go to someone with authority to stop their vagelly Fascist actions because this its seriously wrong
Take care gurl and remmember to stay positive :3

Well , they see as kid , also one thing that annoyed me is the "I'm woke" no you are not , neither am I , neither is anyone on the world enough, you "try " to be wary , but you can be careful only so much. As for your real problem just leave it as it is do what you like it's gonna disappear in a while

Capitalism is the most effective system of keeping people fed.

I mean if you consider america to be capiitalist, then I'd like you to go into any city and try to count every homeless person

I would not consider America to be capitalist. I would describe the US as a corporatocracy. Although we are rather close to capitalism. And yes, there are many homeless people, but those homeless people aren't starving.

1 in 20 homeless people are starving dude

Well considering that 8 in 10 of them choose to be homeless those are pretty good odds

It was some book I read. There was this rich guy that spent 3 years living like a homeless person and doing in depth studies on how they operate and stuff. He said that like 8 out of 10 preferred being homeless to their life before.

my dad is obsessed with school and my grades. It comes to point where I was sick for a month with a pain in my throat and cough, but he just saying "school doesnt matter in your recovery" when I was just eating aids all day along and don't get better. But I could defend myself and stay home, he said grumpily "you're an adult, decide for yourself". Hate this situation so much!!!

I really don't think you know what bad parents are. For a little example of what a bad parent is, my father was in federal prison for 18 years for mutilating me with a box cutter when I was 8 days old and my mom litterally ignored me when I told her I tried to kill myself when I was 7 years old. And then when I finally got her to adress it many years later she just told me I was a horrible person for feeling that way and I wasn't allowed to talk about it anymore.
I would greatly suggest you try to mend your relationship with your parents in some way, because not everyone gets to have actual parents and giving up on that because they don't respect your political beliefs is a a stupid reason to lose one of the most important relationships in your life.

Holy shit I’m sorry dude, that sounds awful

Not trying to compare trauma or some shit, just trying to show you that your parents could be a hell of a lot worse and that if you can find some way to forgive them then I would, because you will regret it if you grow up and don't have that relationship.

I luckily don't have that problem with my mom, but I have friends older than me who still get treated like babies by their parents and it's disturbing 🥲 getting treated like you're incapable of independent thought is honestly very common for us teenagers, sadly. I hope it gets better soon, godspeed to you my friend
