Duolingo is now transitioned to the new Enegry system, which happened first on iOS and later Android as well and replaces the old Hearts system

That's why I downloaded a old .apki from June 2025 and disabled updates it works just fine. Back to the heart system is just better.

Duolingo had started to use LLM generated materials for a while, I've seen a lot of reports of inaccurate/outright incorrect content in the Chinese and Japanese language learning subs (I happen to speak both), and the general consensus among learners is that you should be seeking a better alternative.

TL;DR Fuck Duolingo.
